Tiki and Rummy stole our hearts! They are ridiculously cute and so affectionate. Just tons of fun to be around with their little grunts and playful spirits. They both loved to snuggle up. And, of course, sleep in bed with us at night. And on walks, they spread smiles to everyone we passed on the street. Food is left out for them all day as overeating is not a concern. But, it seemed that they needed some encouragement, so as Octavia suggested, hand-feeding did the trick. This became a routine throughout our stay. Octavia's home is beautiful & grand and also very comfortable. It is in a central location close to shops, restaurants, and the trolly. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch and in the backyard. Communication with Octavia was concise and relaxed. A great stay with 2 little lovebugs in a beautiful city.
One of my favourite housesitting experiences! From the first contact, Liz was so good-natured and helpful that, by the time I arrived, I felt I was meeting old friends. She and John had prepared all the information I could ever need, including a lot of insightful tips about highlights of the area. The cats Yoda and Mischa are affectionate and gorgeous--actually, I probably took almost as many pictures of them as I did of the beautiful sights in Leipzig, and that's saying something. Liz and John have a spacious and very comfortable flat in a leafy, central neighbourhood in Leipzig and you couldn't imagine a better base for exploring this fascinating city of music and history. I would return to housesit for Liz and John in a heartbeat, and I can highly recommend this opportunity to others.
We thoroughly enjoyed looking after Archie and Bella, who were both adorable in their own ways; Archie always liked to be around us and would never turn down a cuddle whereas Bella liked to do her own thing and then snuggle up with us at night. The Doggy Doo’s that Simon and Catherine had organised during the week meant that Jack and I could explore all that Bath had to offer each day and then on weekends we made the most of our time with the dogs taking them on lovely walks. Simon and Catherine made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home from the moment we stepped in. They had thought of all of the touches like dinner and a hand over on the first night, written instructions and information to put our minds at ease and even sorting out the parking for us too. They are wonderful hosts and we would gladly stay again. The location of their home is extremely close to the centre of Bath so we could walk to supermarkets, landmarks and even the filming sets of a film being shot in the city. We highly recommend this sit and feel lucky that we got to spend 10 epic days there.
Kim and Michael are a kind, interesting and generous couple who welcomed us with a lovely dinner the evening before they travelled. We walked Patch together to get know him more and meet some neighbours so, combined with good written notes, we felt well briefed before they left. The house is very clean and comfortable with well-equipped kitchen and fabulous outdoor living/dining space. Patch just enjoys lying at your feet or following you to the veg garden. He is a very good natured and affectionate dog and a pleasure to take on a walk. Sauviac is well-located with pretty Gers towns in close proximity and very quiet cycling/walking. We highly recommend this sit and wouldn't hesitate to return!
We had such a lovely stay at Ed and Zoe’s place and their adorable dog, River, was an absolute dream to take care of! When we arrived, Ed and Zoe gave us a thorough tour of both their house and the local area. Ed showed us how to work their smart house system (we later enjoyed turning off the lights without getting out of bed!) as well as all the bells and whistles they have in their well equipped kitchen. We also went on a walk with them where they showed us around a local park and gave us some tips on how to walk River. They left us a welcome guide that had heaps of useful information about River, their home, the area, and anything else we could possibly need. It left us with great peace of mind, and we felt like we could ask them any questions if they came up. It was evident that River is not only a very loved and looked after dog, but also a very well trained dog. She always responded well to being called back and we had no problems walking her both on and off lead. The area that Ed and Zoe live in is well connected, making it easy to get in and out of London. They are also close to a few really good parks and leafy areas which made our walks with River even more pleasant. There are lots of kind and friendly fellow dog owners in the neighbourhood, several of whom we met around the park, and one of them even had River sleepover at their house when we went out with a friend who was visiting London. Both of us absolutely fell in love with River! She is the biggest sweetheart, and such a good girl. She was honestly so easy, and gave us the best cuddles! We would definitely recommend house and pet sitting for Ed, Zoe and River to anyone! You’d be staying in a lovely, warm, homely home with a wonderful, loving companion.
We had a great time sitting for Cali and Nicky at Randy’s. They are the cuddliest kitties we’ve ever met. When you sit in a chair Cali will likely jump into your lap for some attention. Nicky loves to cuddle on the bed. They are both very easy to care for. Randy’s house is wonderful. It’s very clean, has a well-equipped kitchen and a guest suite downstairs where we stayed. There is a lovely deck with a wonderful view of Prescott. It is private, quiet and has a variety of birds that visit the feeders. Downtown Prescott is less than a 10-minute drive and there is a grocery even closer. There are some lovely drives and many hiking trails very close as well. The Granite Dells and Watson Lake are especially scenic. You will really enjoy taking care of Cali and Nicky at Randy’s – we highly recommend.
