It was a privilege and a joy to house-sit for Marie-Louise and Minette! I feel I learned more about herbs and plants thanks to her extensive library and beautiful wild garden. Minette is a sweet cat, who although shy at first, has a way of letting you know she likes having you around .. .. I am also very grateful to Marie-Louise for letting me stay on beyond my leaving date- it made for some great conversations and excellent meals! Thankyou so much Marie-Louise - for my stay - I feel I have made a new friend.
We absolutely loved our time at Andy & Maria’s and Geoffrey is an angel to take care of. Andy & Maria made sure we felt right at home, introduced us to their friends in the area, gave us some great recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed for the stay.
We had a wonderful time at Christina's and Philipp's place. They are such a happy, friendly, open-minded, attentive and absolutely hospitable family. We are blessed that we could make friends with people like them. The house is super nice, modern (stunning internet connection, ideal for home office workers!) and situated not too far from the city centre and all essential places while at the same time there is a healthy distance to the busy and more noisy areas of Plauen. The cats where just sooo lovely, communicative and "purringly" kept our company during the day as well as at night. We already miss them ㅠ.ㅠ! Moreover, the neighborhood was also helpful and friendly all the time - what a gorgeous little community! The city is not too big and not too small, vibrating with East-German Saxonian culture, while offering everything you need to have fun, relaxation and everything you need for daily life. We wish Christina, Philipp, the kids and the cats all the best and hope to see them again some day!
I recently had the pleasure of petsitting Timber, and it was an amazing experience. Timber is a sweet and well-behaved dog. At home, when not playing with her or practicing her commands, she was mostly relaxed, enjoying her naps. It was also pretty easy to walk her, although at the beginning, she had lots of enthusiasm and could slightly pull the leash. But asking her to slow down helped :) We went for a run a couple of times, and both of us enjoyed this workout. Besides, she knows a lot of commands (including very useful ones like "trade" if she decides to eat something she is not supposed to) and is eager to practice them. I could also leave Timber for several hours alone; all I had to do was give her a kong with peanut butter, and she was suddenly happy to go into her crate. What I appreciated a lot, Timber wasn't waking me up in the mornings; she was sleeping with me until I got up, and then we were going for a morning walk. In the evenings, we were mostly enjoying cuddling, which was my favourite part of the day :) The area is also nice and peaceful, with several parks nearby. The apartment has everything needed for living, and I really liked the Christmas lights that Zach and Juli have all over their living room. Speaking of Zach and Juli, they are charming, supportive, and friendly people, always ready to help and answer some questions. They even brought me a postcard from Kenya with a sweet message from them, which is now pinned to my wall. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay. The family is lovely, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have helped Zach and Juli while caring for their wonderful furry family member. I would be extremely happy to spend more time with Timber, Zach and Juli in the future!
This is a great sit!, Bella is a fun and energetic lab, with a wonderful easy going temperament. She can be let off the lead and responds well to cafe treat boxes (she knows the best ones!) The house is modern and spacious, it has all you will need to be comfortable. Kasia kept in touch always and left perfect instructions on everything you need to know. The area works very well for dog walking, the local parks are 2mins walk away. I very much enjoyed the social aspect of the city dog walking community, meeting regular dogs and owners was lots of fun everyday. Access to shops and transport is easy, as you have a mall within 10mins walk that includes Sainsburys and a Waitrose. A visit to Battersea Power station was easy with a simple direct bus ride. I would Highly recommend this sit and hope to return again.
