What a great couple! I feel like we had an instant bond. The house is beautiful and comfortable, Bella, and Layla were quite the treat to take care of. We were made to feel very comfortable. Communication was always quick and easy. We would definitely recommend this house sit, 💯.

Ian
We spent 6 weeks house sitting for Ian whilst he was overseas in Australia, visiting his family. We were initially meant to be looking after his dog Bailey and two cats, Cody and Cassie, however we ran into some issues with Bailey, so only ended up caring for the cats in the end. To be completely honest, the first 3 nights were very stressful and we didn’t get any sleep as Bailey barked continuously throughout the night and again during the day, whenever we left the room. She was suffering from a UTI and seemed to show signs of severe confusion, and no matter what we tried, we couldn’t seem to help her settle. After contacting Ian, he asked us to contact the vet and a pharmacist, which didn’t lead anywhere. In the end we agreed to drive Bailey to a kennels for the rest of the sit. This was something that left us feeling guilty, but we just couldn’t manage 6 weeks of being kept awake.

Unfortunately, we ran in to some other issues during our stay, including a flea infestation, which took a lot of time and effort to try to handle and quite frankly wasn’t really our responsibility. When we arrived, there were some areas of the house that we needed to clean before we could use them, including the bathroom and kitchen. We also felt that there was some miscommunication regarding our duties as house sitters as we were asked to run personal errands as well deal with boiler/plumbing issues, none of which was mentioned beforehand.

Cody and Cassie were quiet and friendly cats, who we enjoyed getting to know. However, we had to take Cassie to the vet to be put to sleep as we were left in the dark about her bloods not being monitored for her thyroid medication. As a result, she became quite unwell and lost a lot of weight.

We were sadly quite eager to leave, which was a shame as Abergavenny has so much to offer, including lots of wonderful independent shops and cafes. We wish that we could have left a more positive review, but we understand the importance of honest reviews on this platform.
