Denise and her family were nothing but wonderful! They came to the house to meet us and the dogs and were so friendly. They took the best care of our pups and left the house better than they found it. Our communication was great and they even sent us pictures. If you have any hesitation, just approve them, they were fantastic!
Michelle is our go to sitter! She is super self sufficient, adores Bella (mutual adoration) and leaves our house in better shape than when we leave. She is easy to get in touch with and sends updates and photos. Michelle is a gem!
What can I say? We had an amazing experience spending a whole month caring for Neffy (Nefertiti) the dog and her chicken companions Florence, Hephzibah, Nance, Wilma and Pompom! Heather and Brett are well organised. We were booked way in advance for the dates (which is our preference) and stayed in touch via WhatsApp and we even managed to visit a couple of times prior to the sit when in the county so we got to really know one another and go out walking Neffy. Neffy The sweetest soul companion ever! Perfect mix of active and loves to play, but likewise, she's super chilled and cuddly when her needs are met. The most loyal and faithful pooch who adores to be close to you at all times, she's also well trained and behaved. She's also very gentle with kids too and became like a sibling to our 9 & 11 year old children. Dog walks with Neffy were the highlight of our stay. She has so many doggy friends and we quickly made some wonderful connections with the owners of her friends and walked together across the fields many times together, making some real soul connections. Something that we'll never forget! The Home A labour of love, Heather and Brett live in the most wonderful house. Quirky, classical and very large rooms with high ceilings. This town house looks deceivingly smaller from the roadside than it is inside. The most wonderful home of true artists and world travellers, their home gives a feeling of welcoming and a true insight to their wonderful lives of laughter, fun and family. We felt so energised and at home here. Also, their furniture, plants, art and belongings made their home a pleasure to spend time, and the beds are extremely comfortable! The Area/ town of Calne Calne is a charming town in Wiltshire, with amazing places to explore the surrounding areas. If you saw this listing and researched the area, it may seem quite remarkable, even if paying a visit, walking or driving by the town you could easily miss something. But there's something that can't be described about this place that you'll only find out when spending time here. Walking the park and fields, we encountered so many dog walkers and people who were so open, warm and friendly, connections we made with the people in our month here will be friends for life! Something that in all the years we've spent house sitting hasn't happened so profoundly before! If you are reading this review, it's more than likely you are looking for words of encouragement to help you decide if you should apply. Well let me tell you, you'd be foolish not to go spend time here with the captivating Nefertiti nd explore a hidden gem of a Wiltshire town with plenty to offer in terms of accessibility, comfort and friendly people.. We are certain that we were destined to meet and become friends for life.
Nicole and Zac had everything thoughtfully prepared for our arrival (including one particularly delightful experience we will be talking about for many sits to come!). Instructions were simple and straightforward. Dora and Buddy were great companions. The house is cozy and tidy, in a wonderful location and friendly neighborhood. Excellent sit.
My first sit for Donna and Steve with Ozzie could not have gone better. Ozzie is a charming, exuberant shih tzu mix with his terrier heritage showing in the cutest face ever. Ozzie didn't need much warm up time; we were friends pretty quickly. He didn't feel a need to follow me around, though he would look around and generally know where I was. That said, he has a mind of his own. Always up for a walk, he knew which way he wanted to go; if I was late for dinner, he would remind me. Most memorable, if I weren't awake in the morning when he thought I ought to be, Ozzie would walk all over me. No missing that hint. The cutest habit he has is poking his nose in/under the sheet at night to try to burrow in under the covers. Either curled up by my stomach or by my back, he slept all night. Ozzie is a wonderful companion. I met with Steve and Donna before the sit and from the beginning, I felt I have known them a long time. Both are kind, friendly and informative. I felt ready for the sit and was confident they would always be reachable, if needed, and they were. Their home is new, in a part of Roseville that has a very rural feel, which I loved. The house was very clean, the neighbors friendly and the area very quiet. I really enjoyed Ozzie, his humans and their home. This is a sit you won't want to miss. I hope I'm asked for a return visit!
Cat sitting Walter was a dream. He is one of the sweetest cats we’ve met, so gentle, affectionate and polite. He was super cuddly when the weather was cold and rainy, seeking out our laps and burrowing down for hours at a time. He was the perfect cat companion we were hoping for on THS. He lets you know when he wants food, a lap or to be let out. Having the camera on the back door is really helpful and easy to know when Walter wants to come back in as it just pings on the home iPad and Walter is sat there waiting! When he wants to go out in the morning, he just gently taps on your bedroom door or the mirror if you’re still in bed. He has quite a settled routine, which is easy to fit into, making it a stress-free sit for him and us. Watching him down his bowl of milk in one is a sight we won’t forget!! Tom and Vanessa are a lovely couple and fantastic hosts. They have gone into the THS experience 100% and this made us feel genuinely welcome and at home. They are very kind and generous and genuinely care about sitters having a good sit. They set up a group WhatsApp in advance of the sit and were very responsive, so communication was excellent throughout. Their home is just beautiful and a pleasure to spend time in. It is large but homely and warm, with some great high-tech features with fantastic speakers throughout. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and Tom and Vanessa kindly offer fantastic tasty goodies. The house is super clean and comfortable, with helpful printed instructions on the appliances. We loved using the gym for a weekend workout and the music room for cosy evenings with Walter. We spent several of our days here working and there is an excellent home office set up with two desks and high-speed reliable WiFi. We had a couple of afternoons out exploring the local villages, a trip to Bakewell (45 minutes’ drive) for the famous pudding and a day at nearby Alton Towers. All in all, a fantastic sit and we feel very lucky to have had this experience!
We have house sat for Caroline 6 or 7 times and would recommend it as a pleasant and peaceful sit. You feel like you are in the countryside (being on the edge of the Peak District) but with the benefit of only being a few miles from shops and other amenities. The cats are lovely, the house is comfortable, the neighbours are friendly and helpful and Caroline and Stephen have always made us feel welcome and at ease in their home! A very enjoyable sit!
Staying in Salida with Sadie was so relaxing. She's shy at the start but is so loving once she knows she can trust you. It's so cute how excited she gets to go on walks too! On top of that Erin's house is lovely, comfortable, and close to town. Coordinating with her is easy and she made me feel very welcome. Overall, a wonderful stay!
