We had such a wonderful time at Donna and Don's hobby farm, despite and because of the early mornings! The love, time and energy they have put into the house is visible from every corner, from every inch of acreage. Waking up with the sun - beautiful sunrises! - to start the day by feeding the chickens and goats, and by get cuddles from One-Ear the beautiful barnyard cat was magical. Almost as awesome was sitting on their lovely front porch watch the sunset beyond the corn fields. Donna was amazing. She took the time at our arrival to walk us through not only the ins and outs of caring for her animal family and the farm, but also in making sure we would be comfortable there. The plethora of board games were thoroughly enjoyed, as were the delicious eggs and vegetables that we so gratefully savoured while there. With London not far, as well as Lake Erie with quaint towns like Erieau, there was no lack of areas to explore. We cannot thank Donna and Don enough for providing us with the spectacular space and time to make amazing family memories that we will absolutely cherish forever.
Ahh Beautiful Quadra Island natures paradise of gentle island life. Lindsay's home borders the golf course and is surrounded by forest trails going right down to the beach. Joey and Phoebe are just hilarious - personality plus! Our outside play settled into evening sofa snuggles. Lindsay and Reid are building their home, so the sit is a compact apartment on top of their office/gym. This sit is for anyone wanting to enjoy some gentle Island time. Everything was so pleasant and Lindsay's communication and information was appeeciated.
Alison and Mark - and their family gave me a wonderful welcome to their lovely, comfortable home. Alison was extremely good about communicating before and during the sit. They even made sure I had contact with a friend that helped out when I wanted a day to myself! That's a HUGE PLUS!!! The dog Bennie - too cute for words was a delight to tag along with - he led me on great walks through the lovely neighborhood to his favorite parks! He is a sweet, well behaved loving dog! With adorable expressive eyes! i miss you Bennie! Toffee - the orange cat - was a charmer - he could convince you he needed to be fed at least 5 times a day! This was one of the best 'pet sits' I've had and if you get a chance to be selected as a sitter - consider yourself lucky! Thanks to all the family!
The house is in a quiet neighborhood. The dogs could be energetic but very lovable.
Gus and Brady were fun and easy pups to care for and Oscar mostly kept to himself. The neighborhood is lovely and walkable. I would definitely sit here again.
