Marvin and Jennifer were warm and welcoming when we did a walk-through the day prior to the sit. Their Welcome Guide was thorough and concise with instructions and expectations clearly spelled out. Their home is lovely and Sophie was delightful and easy to spend time with. If we could rate higher than 5 stars we would!
We absolutely loved staying at Corrine’s and hope to come back. Corrine is so welcoming, her home is cozy and nestled among the Redwood trees, and the neighborhood is great for walking. Giacomo was awesome with my kids and you can’t help but fall madly in love with him! He’s also an excellent cuddler!
Such a lovely sit! Little Jack and Solli are beautiful little characters. Kept us very entertained and just loved a cuddle. Lovely home and gorgeous views of the beach. Thankyou Toni and Phil for making us very welcome in your home. We recommend this as a lovely place to sit. Hopefully our dates will align and we can sit for you again in the future.
Our stay at Julia’s and Michel’s was truly perfect. Julia and Michel are such warm-hearted and sincere people! We were lucky to spend a day with them and get to know them and the area a little! Their house is very beautiful and thanks to them we felt comfortable and at home the minute we walked in. The house is surrounded by their huge property were you can find different spots to relax and enjoy the sun during the day. Living and caring for the animals felt like a breeze. The chicken/ducks and cats are very independent und don’t need a lot of attention. On our time in La Barriere we completely fell in love with Hudson. He is the best dog you could ask for, very calm and friendly with people, kids or even other dogs. He is very low maintenance and enjoys cuddling up with you and getting attention. We are so grateful to have spent our vacation at such a lovely place and feel very blessed to have gotten to know Julia and Michel, who we hope to get to meet again soon!
A very calm and peaceful and well set up home in a south-west foresty, semi-mountainous area, but with neighbors near enough by if you needed anything. The nearby dog-walking paths are picturesque for the human and lots of fun for their dogs, sniffing heaven. Their dogs like their daily walk but they are well trained and wouldn't run off if you dropped the leash, and they never seemed perturbed by any other dogs as they walked. They kind of go into "look straight ahead" mode if some dog you pass barks to get their attention. I never saw any loose dogs on any of our walks. People there seem good about keeping their dogs in their yards. The cat, Coco, is pretty vocal for a few minutes each day, like when it feels like having some attention or when it's feeding time. And it is almost a hermit otherwise. They have the litter box set up for quick easy upkeep. Barb's instructions for watering the plants worked pretty well, she has it down. So the basic duties are honestly pleasant and Jay and Barb have them set up to be pretty simple. The explanation pamphlet they printed off and left covered about anything you might wonder about. Internet and cable worked well the entire time. A pretty good grocery store, a hardware store, a coffee shop and a gas station and a small mall are all about 8 to 10 minutes away, as well as a Mexican food place that had many tasty choices. 15 minutes beyond that and you're starting to be in Albuquerque, which has everything. For a memorable stay you'll quite probably like, in a good safe seeming area, and for nice people to watch a house for I expect most people will be very happy watching a place and pets for Jay and Barb. I enjoyed and appreciated this sit, and New Mexico is eye candy!
All communication between Rebecca and myself was excellent from the outset. After selecting me as housesitter she arranged a phone conversation and then later, when I was in England, she arranged for me to go to meet Zula, Skittle and the pigs, Hamish and Greta, and to to familiarise myself with the house and local walks. The day before the housesit I had supper with Rebecca and Simon and stayed overnight. We had a delightful evening: the food and wine delicious. I felt perfectly prepared for the housesit. During their holiday we kept in touch so that any issues or potential problems were ironed out straight away. I had a really enjoyable and satisfying stay: Zula and Skittle ( and the pigs ) were excellent company and very entertaining.
