Suzie made us feel welcomed as soon as we arrived, along with a lovely home cooked dinner that evening. Prior to arriving at Suzie’s we did a what’s app video call to introduce ourselves & to keep her updated with our travels. Suzie’s home was immaculate, which we enjoyed immensely !!! Thank you Suzie. Minx the cat was easy to care for, a very affectionate cat and also a very talkative one at that. Overall we would recommend this housesit to others. My experience couldn’t have been better. Adored the animals and we had an excellent time. The location near Foxholes and surrounding circuit of villages mean one can spend the entire day out walking - and Dinah is a first rate walker!
We really enjoyed the time we spent with Henry in Ann Arbor. He is such a sweet, well behaved dog who loves to play with his toys and go for walks. He is one of those dogs that, when they look at you, cause you to have a conversation with them and believe that they understand everything you tell them! Jim and Dana made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They were easy to communicate with and their homeowner’s guide was thorough and addressed any questions we may have had. Their home is filled with so many good books, interesting artwork and comfy places to sit and relax, the light filled sunroom was our favorite. The kitchen has everything a foodie would need to prepare a gourmet meal and for those that prefer to try the local restaurants, the choices are plentiful. This was one of our favorite sits. We already miss Henry. Hopefully we will be able to return.
This was such a warm and welcoming family. They have great big hearts and are very hospitable. Karen was so easy to talk to and offered my family her beautiful home & kitchen to share. They treated us like their family & we are so appreciative! Thank you, Thank you! The dogs LOVE attention and are fairly simple to take care of. A few puddles to mop up here and there. Not recommended if you have a hard time with stairs or if you're sensitive to loud barking. The cats were super sweet too, during our short time together. I really enjoyed watching the personalities of every pet! Watching Lady, Franco, & Scrappy stampede down the long hall was my favorite! The home itself is so lovely, I felt very safe and nurtured by the woods there. Thank you both so much for hosing us!
Thank you for allowing us to share your little bit of isolated heaven in the Scottish Borders. It was a new experience for us looking after livestock out in the hills. But it was a great experience to care for sheep, horses, chickens and ducks. The cat, Miss Keets, was more familiar territory and we loved sharing the sofa with her next to a roaring fire. It was lovely to meet you both and share dinner as well as meeting your delightful dogs. Glad they were great company for you on your trip. Our accommodation in your lovely annex was perfect for us and it was a bonus to have the kitchen as well. Thanks for letting us enjoy your garden produce and freshly laid eggs. It wasn't the best time of year for astronomy but when it was clear the night sky was amazing. Glad we could help you get away for a well deserved break and enjoy a break of our own in such a fabulous location.
Shirley and Don are great pet/ homeowners... and their large log cabin is a quiet Oasis in the countryside. Their cats, Sheba and Smoke are easy to care for and fun to spend time with... If you like the quiet life and taking a hot tub soak with a water view this is the sit for you. Thank you Shirley and Don for the restful vacation.
