Housesitting for Judith was a delight. Smoky was very laid back and friendly, and enjoyed being outside as well as napping in the sunny conservatory or laying beside me while I worked on my laptop. She was very good company. Steve was only able to be there for the first few days of the sit, but I was very comfortable sitting here on my own. Judith and her family live in a beautiful home in a very picturesque village just outside Edinburgh. The house had everything I needed for a very comfortable 3 week stay. The weather was great while I was there and I enjoyed sitting out in the lush green garden most days. I would also like to mention that Judith's spare bed was very comfortable... :) Getting into Edinburgh from Inveresk is very easy. There is a park and ride only 10 mins away or you can get a bus from only a few minutes walk from the house. Shops are close by. Tesco is just a few minutes in the car or an easy 20 min walk. Fort Kinnaird shopping centre is a 10 minutes drive and there is also a 24/7 gym there which was important for me. We took a morning to go to the Pentland Hills which are quite close by and worth planning a hike there. Finally, although we didn't get a chance to meet Judith and her family, (communication was perfect), it was lovely meet her Dad and also their friendly neighbours. We would highly recommend sitting for Judith if you get the opportunity.
Jeff and Dean communicated very well before and during the sit and they have a lovely home in Wellington! Millie is the best cat I have ever looked after and I would happily housesit for Jeff and Dean again.
