Tabitha
The only disappointing part of this housesit was that I didn't get to stay longer!! The location is prime and Tabitha's house was the cleanest I have experienced thus far, which I personally love! Cairo was immediately friendly and sweet. Tabitha was very clear with her directions and Cairo did exactly what was on the schedule... he knew when it was time to eat, when it was time to go out, and when it was time to come back in. He is very food motivated, so he loved his treats and could do tricks to get them! I've never seen a cat do that before! It was amazing. He did wake me up in the middle of the night and once Tabitha and I talked about it, we decided it would be ok to give him a little more food before bed and that seemed to do the trick! He didn't wake me up again until morning time for his breakfast :). I enjoyed going to the beach each day which was about a 15-20 min walk which was incredible but beware where you walk on the beach and put your towel down as there are little clumps of tar scattered around in the sand! I never knew this about Santa Monica beach, but I ruined one of Tabitha's towels getting tar on it, so I replaced it ASAP and Tabitha was so cool and understanding about it. Tabitha was a great communicator and was readily available with any questions before or during my stay. She was an incredible host and made me feel very welcomed and comfortable, and was so generous. I'm just sad we didn't get to hangout in person! If the opportunity came about, I wouldn't hesitate to housesit again for her and Cairo! I highly recommend!

Peter and Jillie are a kind and friendly couple who gave us a very warm welcome to their lovely home. They provided a hard copy of the Welcome Guide, a home tour, and an introduction to Bob and his needs - everything that pet-sitters appreciate in order to instil confidence.

Nestled in the South Downs National Park in West Sussex (on the Surrey border), Easebourne is less than a half-hour bus ride through the countryside from Haslemere station. If you’re travelling by car, there’s plenty of parking space available in Peter and Jillie’s drive.

The White Horse in tiny Easebourne village serves quality pub fare and - along with neighbouring Cowdray Park and Golf Club, Cowdray Farm Shop & Café, and the polo grounds beyond - make the half-mile jaunt well worth repeating.

The ancient town of Midhurst is a pleasant one-mile walk from Jillie and Peter’s - along lanes and over the River Rother where you’ll spot Cowdray Ruins as you enter the town. The High Street has all of the usual offerings - along with the requisite mediaeval pubs offering quality fare and ales. We always appreciate an assortment of independent shops of which there are plenty in Midhurst. We particularly liked Madeleine’s Deli where we were able to find quality coffee beans for a delicious home brew - offered with very friendly and helpful service.

Jillie and Peter’s home is lovely - modern, clean, comfortable, decorated with artistic flair, and flooded with natural light. The underfloor heating, bright conservatory, extremely comfortable king-size bed, and beautiful garden were just a few of the highlights of our stay.

We really took to Bob the Cat who is a very special boy - a real prince of a kitty, in fact! Calm, trusting, friendly, and affectionate, he’s always happy to receive strokes, chin and head scratches - and even belly rubs. Given an opportunity he’s keen to hop up onto an available lap and will settle down for a nice snooze, making for the occasional change in your plans! It was difficult to leave young Bob, but thankfully we’ll be returning at the end of May to look after him for a second time!

Michelle
Michelle is organized and communicative. She showed us the chickens and dog routine ahead of the sit and left detailed, printed instructions. Michelle replied promptly anytime we had questions during the sit. She is very accommodating and let us move into her main house after there were drainage issues in the Casita. Her home is clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lulu is a sweet and wonderful companion, well behaved and easy going, always happy to go on walks and equally happy to spend time with us at home. We enjoyed hanging out with her and giving her belly rubs. The chickens treated us to delicious fresh eggs. The panoramic view of Buffalo Mountain is spectacular. Thank you, Michelle and Brian, for trusting us to stay in your home and looking after your wonderful pets. We miss Lulu already!

Rosemary
I thoroughly recommend this sit. The house and gardens are lovely, and in a very convenient position for access to Evesham - a pleasant walk along the river Avon.
Everything was fine with the house, and Rose and Bob made me feel very welcome. Dougal the dog is no trouble and good company. The cats, Topsy and Tim, were low maintenance as they spent most of the time outside.

Kathleen
It is impossible to capture how special it was to sit for Mickey and Al. Kathleen was such a gracious host and clearly loves her boys. Kathleen provided me with a FT tour of the house and its unique location in advance of my arrival. The home is absolutely stunning and Daufuskie Island is truly something very special.

The mode of transport around the island is either bike or golf cart. The island is very quiet and riding around by bike with Mickey following along side was such a special experience. Everyone on the island is so friendly! When you pass someone on the quiet roads or meet them at the beach they are extremely welcoming and happy to share thier love of the island.

Mickey is such a lovely boy, I will miss him terribly. He loves to dig at the beach and it will fill your heart observing his enthusiasm. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle on the couch after he is exercised. Like most Goldens he loves his food as much as he loves to dig! LOL

Al is quite independant, however he did warm up after a few days. He is very easy to care for and preferred to spend most of his time in the master suite.

No words can truly capture this unique and amazing sit. Before I arrived I had planned to take a few day trips to Hilton Head to explore the sites. I only went back to HH one afternon to get a few supplies and had no desire to return. It is hard to put into words but once your off island you can't wait to get back. I beleive it is the tranquility of the island and the kindness of its residents that makes it so special.

Kathleen was very thoughtful and made sure that I had everything I needed. She always responded quickly to questions and my daily updates. If you get the opportunity
to sit for Kathleen and family I would highly recommend you go and experience bike rides and beach walks with Mickey. It will feed your soul!

Alice
This was a great house sit. Alice clearly explained the needs of Tina and Crevette and answered any questions we had. The home is in a lovely location outside of La Rochelle and Alice was very hospitable and generous. Tina and Crevette were very different cats, but they were both very easy to care for and we had Alice on hand for easy communication if we had any questions.
