Our recent house-sit in tranquil and picturesque Buxhall, Suffolk, was an absolute delight. We had the pleasure of looking after Smartie, the adorable dachshund, and Ginny, the elegant Weimaraner, both of whom were easy-going and well-behaved. Walks with the dogs were fun and they quickly adapted to strangers in the house! Suzanne’s well-kept home, a beautifully converted barn, was nothing short of stunning and the charming interior and cosy ambiance made for a very comfortable stay. The inviting garden was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Suzanne's home with her lovely dogs, so if you're seeking a peaceful retreat in the countryside, with sweet canine companions and a stunning setting then we highly recommend this sit. Thank you for the opportunity to sit for Toast & Mimi and opening your home to us. We had fun with both as Mimi allowed us plenty of petting time & Toast was the consummate entertainer. You were correct, they don’t get on as Mimi kept her distance in the basement primarily & Toast was our shadow. The garden deck was a nice respite during the unusually hot temperatures. Alexandra Park proved to be the energy drainer for Toast that was needed. Muswell Hill is a quaint community with plenty of restaurants & shops.
Kirsten is a great host and has a beautiful home and was very welcoming and responsive to all my questions. I had a great time house sitting and pet sitting for Nyx! I would highly recommend!🙂
As Kathleen and Martin's first THS sitter, it was such a pleasure to meet them both and their very sweet and loving cat Cortina. Invermere, BC is a beautiful area to visit and especially with the wonderful fall colours and the mountain reflections that you can see on the Windermere Lake on a calm day. Nice little beach area close by that you can walk to for some swimming in the summer weather if you are ever lucky enough to be chosen to sit during that timeframe. As well, the fantastic Panorama Ski hill is close by to enjoy in all seasons whether hiking, mountain biking or skiing, lots to offer. The town itself always has something going on to enjoy or browse the lovely little shops in the area. Lot's of choices as to various restaurants in local area and two natural hot springs nearby to relax in (Radium or Fairmont). Both within a half hour drive... very convenient and we so enjoyed our visit to the pool. So easy to venture out and go for wonderful hikes and walks in the area. We did an afternoon trip down to the southern end of the Columbia Lake which has a lovely picnic area by Canal Flats to enjoy. Driving further south towards Wasa Lake and town of Kimberley provides a perfect stop to explore before heading back to Invermere. I highly recommend this sit as there is so much to see in the area and Cortina is such a sweet cat to spend time with cuddling up together to watch a good movie. Very comfortable accommodations and Kathleen provided a well detailed 'Welcome Guide' for easy reference during the sit. She provided great text communications through out should any questions arise. Right from my first communication with Serena, I felt a warmth , a joie de vivre, but tempered with a hands on approach to life. And, when I met this vibrant couple, I was not wrong. They immediately made me feel at ease , and I could feel their uneasiness at leaving their beloved Chelsea who was recovering from a bout of illness. But Chelsea with those unique, intelligible eyes , assured me daily that she was getting better and that she would be really well again when her Mummy and Daddy returned. And the omnipresent Keira. What a great companion. She shepherded me around the house and gardens with the diligence of a well trained bodyguard. Lovely , lovely and greatly loved dogs. Serena introduced me with humour to the Alpacas , kindly recognising that this was a new thing for me. By her manner I gleaned that these were gentle souls who would not threaten me in any way . I LOVED them. Their appearance each morning from the crest of the hill, their realisation that this was feeding time , and their lolling gait ambling down the hill to be fed. I enjoyed li,ke a child their different characters and appreciated how their idiosyncracies were pointed out to me. All very life affirming. And all this fun, played out in a setting that could be theatre. Kent at its most beautiful. Age old oaks and horse chestnuts, apple , plum,trees all releasing their harvest, the river Medway nearby and Monks Cottage safely nestled there. As Serena had indicated in her listing , the area around has absolutely everything you could want as regards shopping or tourist attractions. But, for me , in this sit, it was the warmth of the people , the animals and the genuine welcome of a neighbour who should receive a commendation for being "Neighbour of the Year " on the Trusted Housesitter Website. Being of a retiring disposition, he would want no publicity! But ,nonetheless , my great thanks must go to him. I highly recommend this sit and will hold for ever Chelsea's special beautiful bull terrier face in my heart. A privilege to care for her.
Had a great experience sitting Zoey and Odin! They are super friendly pups and love to snuggle. Emma and Leo made the sit easy, with detailed instructions and a clean home in a safe and convenient neighborhood.
