Marie was a sweetheart with my babies. She was great with her communications and providing updates to me every day on how things were going. She brought her fur babies with her and from the videos and pictures, it looked like everyone got along great! It was nice for my dogs to have friends to play with while my husband and I were gone. Marie took my youngest pup to the dog park with her youngest pup, and it was adorable to see those two interact. It was obvious how well Marie cared for and loved on my pups. Marie was very patient with learning how my house functions. We are a "tech" family, and as such, our home is smart. Lights are scheduled to turn on and off. Some lights are motion activated. Fans turn on automatically depending on the temperature. Blinds open and close based on the sunrise/sunset. Lots of automation happening in our house! :-) Sometimes I forget that these things just happen automatically, but not everyone wants those things to happen and without the App, you can't turn them on or off with a switch. Marie had a good sense of humor about it and we were able to make updates on the fly to try and make her more comfortable. When I came home, the house was cleaned up, which made the rest of my weekend much less stressful! I also appreciated the sweet pictures she framed and left as a gift for us. She even "replaced" some of the food items she used while I was gone, which I didn't expect but appreciated. If you need a trusted sitter, you won't be disappointed with Marie.

Lucrecia
This was our first housesit, and we were fortunate to have Lucrecia as our host. On our first day, she showed us around her house and explained how to take care of Coco. Her house is in a safe neighborhood and only three blocks from the Metro station and grocery stores. Her kitchen is well-equipped, so we were able to cook throughout our stay. We also had a lovely bedroom with a private bath. Coco was easy to look after, and it was a joy to take him out for a walk around the neighborhood in the morning and the evening. We are grateful for the opportunity to house sit for Lucrecia.

My stay with Tiger and Chai was amazing! They are both so sweet and easygoing. Carina’s home is just gorgeous, in the beautiful countryside but still within walking distance to a grocery and a bus that’ll take you into Bath. Carina offered so much support, was always available to help, and was overall the most lovely host. I loved my time here :)

Terah
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Celeste and Terah's home. Celeste had previously lived where I currently reside and I immediately recognized her - we soon discovered we have a couple of mutual friends. The three of us also share a love of art, travel, along with furry and feathered friends. Both ladies are terrific.

Sadly their last cat had passed away so this sit consisted of tending to indoor plants and multiple outdoor planting areas plus filling bird feeders and birdbath. I enjoy watering/nurturing plants (plus I was able to harvest some fresh lettuce) so I didn't mind this task at all. Bird care was also easy and rewarding. I enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels and bunnies that appeared daily plus listening to the frogs in the evenings.

Last but not least, La Conner is just a few miles away and is a fun place with restaurants where you can have meals outdoors while watching boats go by. I definitely recommend this sit.

Caroline
I had a great time looking after Qi’ra and Jinx in Chesham! The house was easy to get to from London, and Caroline made sure that I had everything I needed to be comfortable during my stay. There is a big park close by which made daily dog walks easy and fun! Both animals were a pleasure to look after and I would happily sit for them again.

Paola
Regrettably, my experience fell short of expectations, marking my first negative econtuer on THS after many positive experiences.

Pros: Luva and Chelsea provided ample affection and cuddles.
Despite Chelsea's tendency to bark at other dogs, a bit of attention resolved any issues during walks.
The apartment is nice and new, not far from Amsterdam Zuid Station.

Cons: unfortunately, my interaction with Paula left much to be desired.
Rather than feeling embraced by the THS community, I felt more like an unpaid dog sitter and cleaner.

The first day, she asked me to be there by 11am, but due to possible train delay she asked me to arrive at 10h40. However, she knew she would be in a meeting until 11am, so she could not open the door and asked me to wait around.
She showed me any details of how to clean the apartments, e.g. cleaning the induction hob using the kitchen light to be sure to not leave water marks or clean the vacuum robot if I would use etc.
She also asked me to not use the dishwasher, the sit was too short to use it, so she asked me to wash them by hands ( no problem).

Despite regulars text and photos updates, the day before the end of the sit she criticized me for insufficient communication and doubted I was taking out the dogs and in particular to the forest.
She was afraid of finding the dogs more energetic than usual. She complained that I did not let Chelsea off the leash, however, at least with me, Chelsea was barking to most of dogs. I prioritise her safety by keeping her leashed during walks, further I was taking them for long walks during the day.

I got the impression she became more aggressive after I declined a subsequent sit offer, despite her promise to reimburse my train fare .

On the last day, tensions escalated when she expressed frustration over my inability to meet her bed-making instructions, despite multiple attempts ( I made it three different times and sent her pics).

Reece
It was lovely to petsit for Reece and Archie and our experience in their home was nothing but positive. Together they are a wonderful couple who made us feel very welcome and at home during our stay. Jasper is also a beautiful cat who we’ll miss very much! We loved taking care of him and would easily petsit for Reece and Archie again if needed! Thank you for having us x
