Carole & Ron were fantastic! We returned home to blissfully-happy cats, and a sparkling flat with clean linens, a freshly-made bed and newly purchased milk, yogurt & groceries. Quite simply, I've never had an easier return from a vacation. They are a warm & lovely couple with a depth of life & travel experience to match their love of people and animals. We could not have been more comfortable or satisfied with someone to look after our home & treasures! Carole & Ron arrived the evening before we left on vacation. We had the opportunity to show them around our flat and neighborhood and enjoy dinner together that night. Attentive to every detail of our home, cats and trip - they were easy to reach before our trip and even sent us periodic updates (& pictures!) while we were away. Carole & Ron have my STRONGEST POSSIBLE ENDORSEMENT & I wouldn't hesitate to choose them again!
A lovely family with two very friendly, and well behaved dogs. We came as house sitters and left as friends. The location is excellent with many interesting sites to visit nearby. If you are hands-on and into people you may also get the chance to manage a unique small business with yurts and a B&B during your stay, so you can practice French, Spanish and of course English. We are very much looking forward to our second sit in November and highly recommend Billy and his family.
Our experience at Diane and Mike's beautiful farmhouse was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and open arms by not just our hosts, but their entire wonderful family. The true stars of our stay were the four-legged family members. Gracie and Bentley, the lovable standard poodles, led us on enchanting walks along the scenic canal. Their boundless energy was infectious, whether they were frolicking with sticks or engaging in spirited games together. Playing catch and receiving constant love and affection from these furry companions made our days even more delightful. Duke, the initially reserved cat, revealed his affectionate side as our stay progressed. He transformed from a shy feline into a couch-loving movie buddy, joining us for cozy movie nights. The barn cats, who had been a bit timid at first, quickly became fond of us as they anticipated their treats. The chickens, with their vibrant personalities, never failed to brighten our days. These four feathered friends, always eager for our company, greeted us with their cheerful clucks and added a special touch to our experience. The farmhouse itself was a sight to behold, a testament to Diane and Mike's impeccable taste in interior design. Every corner exuded charm and style, and it was maintained in excellent condition. Surrounding the house, the vast almond orchard and raised vegetable beds showcased the natural beauty of the countryside. Evenings on the front porch, under the starlit sky, were simply magical. Without a doubt, we wholeheartedly recommend this housesit. Diane and Mike are not just generous hosts; they are incredibly kind and made sure we felt at home throughout our stay. Their eagerness to show us around Modesto and the Bay Area added an extra layer of enjoyment to our time together. This experience was a perfect blend of warmth, beauty, and hospitality, and we couldn't have asked for a more remarkable adventure!!
This was our longest house/pet sit and we loved it! It didn’t take long until we were in our routine and started bonding with the feline residents very quickly. We miss our walks with Randal and head rubs with Muffy! Getting past Sweeties growl was easy too as she’s such a sweetheart. Even the more feral ones, Sushi and Marilyn, ended up opening up. Marilyn, although feisty, is very sweet and loves to be pet - her fur is sooo soft! And Sushi, we definitely watched our back at first, but she just has an intimidating voice, at the end all the wanted was some love. We miss talking and seeing the kitties every day! The island itself is definitely a place we fell in love with. The towns are quiet, have all the amenities one may need, and the nature - can’t say enough how beautiful this island is and how much there is to explore. The house is well taken care of, very cozy and the backyard is huge, we spent many nights outside listening to the fountain and all the wonderful sounds nature provides. We are very grateful to have been given the opportunity to pet and housesit for this family and will be back to visit!
Dear Suki, thank you so much for letting me spend Christmas with you in your beautiful flat. I felt at home from the first moment and it was a pleasure to play with you and entertain you. Your parents are so warm hearted and generous. I really enjoyed the fact that we had some time together. It was a pleasure to talk to Jen and Joe. Hildi and Este are the cutest girls, we didn’t expect they to be that funny and sweet we spend a really good time with both of them. Hildi is more independent and will ask you to play with her and Este loves being with you all the time so it’s perfect for cuddles. Ana and Noah are a nice couple and were great at communicating with us! The house has free parking and it’s was great having a supermarket and the metro close.
Pure bliss is the best way I can describe my experience at John and Laura's beautiful home. Leading up to my stay, John and I kept in contact and I was so impressed with his warmth and the obvious love he and his wife have for their kitties. As a fellow cat person, I felt a strong connection to them from the start! On arrival, they gave me a thorough orientation of the house and how to take care of their beautiful and charismatic cats. They couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. Their home was so comfortable and well-appointed and their gated community was so lovely with walking paths through woodlands and along the cliffside overlooking the ocean, I didn't feel any desire to explore the local area at all. I was also treated to some meals at a delicious local restaurant and my groceries were also taken care of! All that being said, their cats (or Cat-o-wats as they are fondly referred to) were the highlight of my stay. They are clever, inquisitive, and so so sweet. I was delighted to get to know them and learn their quirks and personalities. Giselle is the regal yet energetic empress of the house and Tamu is the watchful and gentle prince. They are so adorable in their love for each other. We played for hours with feather wands, toys, and other items of interest. At first, they were curious but a bit wary of me. However, I'm pleased to say that we became affectionate friends by the time my stay was over. John and Laura were easily reached and appreciated daily updates and pictures of the cats. I could go on and on but words can't express how wonderful my experience was house sitting for this lovely family. I highly recommend this sit and would love the chance to care for Giselle and Tamu again!
