We were 10 days in the care of Roxie. She is very kind and her care has been very easy and pleasant. Hilary's apartment is very well located and easily accessible for public transport. We were very happy to spend our time together with Roxie while Hilary was away from home.
Staying with Bear and Moose was an absolute delight. Despite their contrasting personalities, Bear and Moose instantly made me feel at home with their unique charms. Bear, the energetic and well-trained pup, kept me on my toes with his playful antics, while Moose, the laid-back and affectionate companion, was always there for a comforting cuddle. Kurt and Julie were exceptional hosts, making communication effortless and ensuring that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their welcoming demeanor created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it easy to settle in and feel right at home. Nestled in a serene and peaceful area, their home provided the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just a short distance away, Jackobsburg recreation park offered a picturesque escape with its abundance of trails, allowing me to immerse myself in nature and unwind with a good book by the water. Overall, my time dog sitting Bear and Moose was a truly memorable experience. I couldn't have asked for better hosts or more delightful canine companions. I highly recommend Kurt and Julie's home for anyone seeking a tranquil getaway with the added joy of furry friends.
Lovely large house with mod cons and even an upright piano! Very much in the heart of the country although so near Basingstoke. A lot of walking trails nearby and a nice characterful gastropub in easy walking distance (worth noting that nearest shop is a short drive/half-hour walk away). Some nice pubs in nearby Old Basing too. Mouse was very clear with both written instructions and showing me around. And Woody was lovely company – a really sweet dog who likes to be around you lots – and we enjoyed some long pottering walk together. Highly recommended.
We were so lucky to have come to Ramona and Joshua's home in Engen, to look after Lumin, for our first house sit. Having done a lot of house sits themselves, they immediately made us feel comfortable and at home. We arrived a few days early and spent that time getting to know them, and Lumin and her routines. We also met a few of their friends, and Ramona gave us a comprehensive list of contacts should we need any assistance while they were away. Lumin is a delightful dog. She was easy to care for and loved to get out to walk through the town or the nearby hills. She slept in her crate in our room and made no fuss when it was time to go to bed, and she wouldn't get up until the second one of us was out of bed each morning. We had our own good sized bedroom with our own ensuite, which is always a plus. The kitchen is well appointed and we enjoyed cooking lots of meals there. Engen is a beautiful old town with lots of interesting old architecture and the people are very friendly. We also had lots of fun sending pictures and notes back and forth with Ramona and Joshua while they were away. We would highly recommend this house sit!
We looked after Lola over the weekend and had a nice time exploring the local area like the woods, Ruislip Lido, and going to the high street. Jen was very welcoming and communicative and the home was spotless and homey. Located conveniently about 8-10 min walk from Northwood Station. Lola is a lovely dog who loves a good walk and especially playing fetch. She warmed up to us quickly and we will miss. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend looking after Lola
