I had a lovely time for the week I spent with Louis the cat who is very friendly and sweet. Diane's house is lovely, very comfortable, relaxing and feels like home, and she was so kind, allowing me to stay an extra night to bridge the gap to my next sit. I would happily sit for her again.
Communication with Jenny was really good, she had put together the best guide covering everything that you need to know about the sit. Great location very close to the train station, so easy to pop onto the train to Harrogate (I was lucky that the Great Yorkshire Show was on during my sit) or Leeds. I thoroughly enjoyed looking after Timble such a lovely little cat, I became very fond of her. Definitely a 5 star sit highly recommended, I hope to return in the near future. Thanks Jenny
Betsy is such a kind sweet sensitive little Frenchie. With already having experience with French Bulldogs I understand their quirks however these can be a little challenging for someone with no experience. She loves to be with you 24/7 and this includes in bed, if you don’t usually sleep with animals in your bed (like us) this can be quite challenging. You also need to be alert when walking Betsy as she isn’t a fan of other dogs and becomes quite worked up when there’s a dog in site. Besides these two small challenges Betsy is the sweetest, cuddliest little girl always so happy and full of excitement, we will miss her dearly!! Melanie was very friendly and responsive during the entire stay, always happy to answer any questions regarding Betsy, the house and the surrounding area☺️
Sitting for Ken & Susan was an absolute pleasure! They truly opened up their home to me and made me feel comfortable right from the start. Ken took his time to explain the schedule of tasks and I felt Susan was always available to check in with if I ever needed anything. Smoke loves routine and will let you know if he needs attention with cuddles. He took a day to warm up to me and was soon sleeping on the bed with me. Ken & Susan go out of their way provide everything you need and it felt like I was housesitting at friends house! Thank you for this opportunity!
Melanie and Robert went above and beyond to welcome us and very thoughtfully ensured everything we needed was in the cottage. I arrived the night prior to the sit (with Connor joining me later), so Melanie took me on a walk with Monty to show me his usual route. Both Melanie and Robert were friendly and welcoming. Monty is a gorgeous, good-natured dog. He’s a massive softie who loved being fussed and loved his paws being massaged (exactly how Melanie suggested!). He was no fuss whatsoever and slept most of the day whilst we were working. It was lovely opening the door each morning with him waiting for us. We’ll miss him and his dinner dances lots!) The cottage had everything we could’ve possibly needed, and the gardens are beautiful. It was perfect for working from home. We could’ve sat and enjoyed the gardens all day but there’s also lots to see. We walked lots into Tarvin and also explored Chester. The perfect sit! Thanks very much Melanie and Robert.
Teddy is an adorable 8 year old Cavoodle who is a social butterfly! Teddy is a mostly inside dog who likes to sleep on the bed during the day under the fan. But, he loves to go for walks and particularly enjoys the enormous attention he receives whilst visiting some of the many great coffee shops and beach esplanades that the Gold Coast has to offer. Teddy is also a very quiet, laid back boy who simply loves a cuddle and snuggled up with me at night whilst watching TV. Nina and Dale have lovely and very comfortable home set on 1.5 acres in a quiet area of Mudgeeraba with easy access to the motorway and only 15 min drive to many local beaches . With a beautiful room to call home and lovely verandah to walk out to, regular communications and not to mention a lovely meal upon arrival Nina and Dale made me feel right at home.
