When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and Meghan, the Welsh Springer Spaniel, ran with a wagging tail and the expectation of first pats to us. Also, she greeted without fear our not so small dog. We then spoke briefly about the detailed welcome guide, got a short tour of the house and clarified the last questions. Our start in the SIT was already perfect. Unfortunately, Emma and her family had to go directly to the airport after this brief introduction. After unpacking, we started instantly on our first trip. Meghan jumped into the car immediately without any further request. I think she knew that exciting four days are starting now. We visited every day one of the local attractions and had a lot of fun together. It was beautiful to see how she can watch through the car or train window to look at the world, while our dog usually sleeps with something like this. The days flew by so quickly. We thank Emma for the invitation to spend a few days in her home and with Meghan. We really appreciate that we were allowed to bring our dog with us as well and really enjoyed the time there. I would recommend anyone here on Trusted Housesitter to apply here once. You will not regret it.
We had a lovely time at Jenny ‘s house. The dogs and cats are a pleasure to look after and the location is fantastic. You get peace and quiet but it doesn’t take long to drive to the coast or to El Chorro where there are beautiful lakes to swim in and walks to do. We would thoroughly recommend this sit.
We enjoyed three wonderful weeks in Rushmoor, near Farnham, petsitting Ella and Chili. The two working spaniels were adorable and the location, just metres away from the lovely Fresham Commons walking trails was perfect for four avid walkers, Ella, Chili, my husband and I. The older pup, Ella, fell ill during our stay, however, with the help of an awesome neighbour, we were able to get Ella to a vet very quickly, and with the proper medication, she was on the rebound within 48 hours. The home and gardens were lovely, and surrounded by a fence that gave the dogs the the freedom to roam. One of the nicest pet sits we've done to date. Thank you Caroline!
From the moment we arrived, Paul and I felt welcomed and at ease. Karen and Andy prepared us dinner while we visited and got to know Cassie and the home. Cassie, their Hungarian Vizla, is an absolute joy! Her intelligence, energy, and affectionate nature made every day a pleasure. Whether we were going for walks around the village or relaxing in the evenings, her companionship was wonderful; like a trusted friend. Their beautiful and comfortable home is situated in a picturesque, bucolic area in the Cotswolds, perfect for walks and exploration. (We felt like we were on a set of one of our series on BBC, just waiting for Father Brown to come up the hill!) We loved strolling with Cassie through the village and down to the historic, 800+, year-old chuch, where we met other villagers walking their pets or getting together to ring the chuch bells. Everyone stopped to chat and ask how our stay was going. It was heart-warming to see how loved and well-known Karen, Andy, and Cassie are in the community. The nearby pubs were a delightful bonus, offering cozy atmospheres and excellent food – a perfect way to unwind after a day of playful adventures with Cassie. Thank you for the opportunity to care for Cassie and stay in your charming home. We would love to return for more wonderful walks, friendly encounters, and enjoyable evenings.
I had a pleasant time in Knoxville with Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth. Sally's house is in a quiet mountain neighborhood near beautiful views of people rowing along the shoals. Only 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville, it was a great time of year to see the fall colors. Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth were great cuddle buddies and I was sad to say goodbye.
We had a delightful time sitting for Suzanne and David. They had great instructions for taking care of their two cats, who were quite entertaining while we were there. The house was very comfortable, well equipped, and has a very peaceful backyard where we spent a good deal of time reading and catching up on the day. Their house is located in an ideal spot for easy access to the highway, but there are many restaurants and shopping places nearby. We were able to walk to many places and there are a couple of great parks nearby to walk to with nice trails. We would definitely sit again should they have an availability.
