Marie's home is set in a beautiful quiet location with an amazing view in the French Riviera countryside.

Havannah is sweet and independent, Alice is blind, but, knows her way around the house, and an awesome cat, Mio always has a lot to say.

The chickens are easygoing. They know when to come into the coop at night that has an electronic door. Every morning and night I counted 9 chickens, checked their food and water, and had fun talking with them. If I was lucky, I collected fresh eggs!

Marie is a great communicator. She made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed the tranquility of my pet sit at Marie's home. I recommend this sit if you have the opportunity.

If you’re lucky enough to keep Daisy & Rosie company while their owners Marie and Bill are away, you will understand the meaning of idyllic pastures.

And indeed our stay was idyllic on every level. Starting with Daisy & Rosie, they’re both extremely well behaved and clearly loved by their Owners. They were simply an adorable pair to spend our days with. Daisy is the more mischievous bouncy one, who looks at you with the most innocent eyes, while Rosie, the gentle and wise older lady, and who always looks out for Daisy, seems to be smiling at you all the time. They’re both loving and affectionate, very easy to take care of and love their tummy rubs.

Their owners, Marie & Bill, are a wonderful couple and most generous hosts, who welcomed us with a delicious home cooked feast served in a stunning gazebo in the garden built by Bill himself and made us instantly feel at home in their Catskills’ paradise near Monticello.

Their house is extremely comfortable and roomy with all the mod cons, in a middle of nature yet easily accessible by a 2- hour bus trip from NY’s Port Authority. And once you’re there, time expands and you’re immediately washed over with the freshness of the air and the soothing quietness – only “interrupted” by the miraculous humming birds who visit the garden daily.

We enjoyed immensely getting to know Marie and Bill before they left the next morning, hearing about their lives and love of travel, and then keeping in touch while they were away. And despite being on their vacation, they took time and effort to check with us if we were comfortable or needed anything.

They also left plenty of information to explore the area & the beautiful countryside and great trails near-by, although to tell the truth we never left their relaxing home and garden, along with their own forest – a gorgeous special place for Rosie and Daisy’s morning walks, which we adored as much as they did. It was a perfect morning ritual to wake up to after looking at the stars the night before. As Bill said during our dinner, Trusted House Sitters is not just a place to find pet-loving individuals to take care of your animals, but also an opportunity to meet interesting people and make new friends, which we definitely did with Marie & Bill.

We were most sad to say goodbye to Rosie & Daisy and the idyllic pastures of Marie & Bill’s home. But we returned enriched with many wonderful memories of spending lazy days cuddling with Rosie & Daisy, discovering new exciting paths and smells with them :) in their forest, or watching them play in the garden.

Thank you Marie & Bill for this blissful opportunity and hoping to be back whenever you might need us to keep Daisy & Rosie company again.

Higor
It was a very nice and cozy stay in Zaandam. Higor is a great host who gave me a full information and support about his house, neighborhood and the most important, Miles. And Miles - he is a very sweet dog, with a big heart and charming eyes. He loves to play and chew, and also hug and be petted endlessly. He is a big fan of food, snacks and delicacies. He will certainly show you many ways to creatively ask for food :) Walking with him requires a good plan, preparation and perseverance. He can be stubborn, and all the dogs and cats in the area know his energetic nature. I spent a wonderful week with Miles and I will be pleased when Higor invites me to take care of Miles again.

Gizmo and Kola were both easy dogs to look after. Kola likes playing with her toys and Gizmo likes to cuddle on the sofa! The house was comfortable and in a good location in Hove in walking distance of shops and the seafront. I would recommend this sit.
