Caroline and her family were welcoming and gave us a a tour of the house as well as letting us know how to look after Sandy, the guinea pigs and the fish. Sandy behaved well on the lead and loved a game of fetch in a nearby park. There are plenty of circular walks from the house and Thame is a close too. The house was relaxing and comfortable and we would recommend the stay to others.
What an incredible sit! Margaret and Bernie are such kind hosts. We loved all 4 of the animals, they were all so sweet and each had such a unique personality. & I can’t forget about the home/location! Everything was so gorgeous, it was hard to leave!
Higgs and Bosun are no trouble at all and very independent, they may bring you a mouse or three. The chickens gave me eggs every day, the orchard apples and the garden and house are just beautiful. Sue and John were lovely, very welcoming and communication was no problem. I highly recommend this lovely house sit especially if you love history and gardening, it's a real treat.
What a great week with this lovable group of fur! The home, oh my goodness. If you want to have a mental respite, this is the perfect retreat. It's just lovely and with all the amenities you could ask for. We were surrounded by the forest. The location is completely private. It seems remote but it's actually a short drive from nice restaurants, wineries and shopping. The Welland Canal is nearby and is a must see for those who have never seen shipping locks of the Great Lakes. Massive tankers moving on water elevators! Definitely for engineering nerds. We didn't use the amazing pool but we lit up the sauna. Oh my, it was heavenly. We also had a fire in the fire pit and made a pizza in the brick oven. You can see by the pics how beautiful the house is inside. Now, the best part...animals. Calvin and Sheelagh have stolen our hearts. These are the most gorgeous, loving, gentle souls. We took them on many hikes and adventures. They're crazy about car rides and long walks on the many trails around here. They were always by our sides, always. We brushed their beautiful coats a lot and they were in heaven. Such well behaved intelligent friends. I will miss them terribly. The cats... they too were also sweet and loving. Elegant Hobbes loves the outdoors but just hangs on the property. Joey is strictly indoors. He is a purring ball of black fur with piercing green eyes. All four have distinct personalities but all are so sweet. I haven't met Tamara the owner but her daughter was exceptional with instructions and communication. I spoke and texted with Tamara often just for updates and simple questions. She is a lovely person and I hope to meet her someday. I would give this sit experience 6 stars if I could. I would feel privileged to do this house sit again someday.
Truly one of the best sits I ever did! The house itself is amazing with crazy beautiful views over the Chief in Squamish, and the cats are just super friendly and easy to deal with. Especially Morley and her natural craziness! It was also very easy to communicate and arrange sit details with Anna, so I would definitely come back to this place if ever dates align again! Thank you for everything
I had a very nice time with Eric, Bert & Piper and the 4 chickens at Broxburn. Plenty of garden space to play catch ball and ideally placed in the country park for scenic walks with the dogs. Everything was made easy with clear feeding & exercise instructions provided before Suzie & Craig travelled. It was a pleasure looking after the dogs which were friendly companions in an idyllic, peaceful location.
