This is the second time Charlie has looked after our two dogs and home. Yet again she was the perfect house/dog-sitter - both dogs clearly get on very well with her, she sends photographs and videos so you can see they are happy, the house was immaculate on our return and the nature of her work means she spends a lot of time in the house with the dogs; brilliant all round!
This is a wonderful house to spend time in, and Scrappy leaves a big imprint on your consciousness. Deborah made me feel at home immediately with her warm, relaxed welcome and went to special trouble to make up the room at the back of the house which is so peaceful and faces the garden. I spent most of the time in the kitchen and garden, as the days were sunny, and I felt as if I was somewhere in Provence, the high walls protecting the space and the magnificent lavender bush centre stage ,buzzing with bees. But what was so special about this sit is that you can wander down the road and be in your favourite cafe in a few minutes. The combination of peaceful and secluded, but with everything at hand should you need distracting, is perfect for a pet sit in an unknown setting. Scrappy knows the routine and if you pay attention to him, he will quickly guide you. He waits whilst you get your morning tea, lies on the bed patiently as you read, then bounds down stairs excitedly when he sees you are ready for a walk. He even understands you, once I said lets be careful I have things to carry, and he let me go first, waiting on each landing until I was on the next flight! As you can see, I am completely smitten with Scruffy , we had lovely walks on the Dartington Estate and one trip further afield, but my favourite times with him were the slow evening strolls around Totnes with him off the leash sniffing away, more or less walking to heel and on the pavement feeling so safe. If only dogs could be like him… ! Thank you so much for these days in Totnes, I hope to return one day ! Sophia
I couldn't have been made more welcome by Iveta and her family. Everything I needed to know was fully explained, including where to find the dogs favourite walks. It was a pleasure to look after all the animals and I fell totally in love with Bessie and Rufus, who still being a puppy was an absolute delight and certainly kept me on my toes. The house Is beautiful but most importantly, Iveta and Chris have made it into a really happy home. I even learned how to cook on an Aga! We met as strangers and parted as friends. I hope to have the opportunity to 'sit' here again in the future.
It's great that Paula encourages you to come a day or two early and is flexible on when you leave. Piula is an easy, gentle cat. The house is in a safe neighborhood that is near the Phare of Mammelles and the African Renaissance Monument. I liked it so much that I went back a few months later to housesit again!
Christine’s home and pets were a pleasure to care for. She was very well organized and communicated well through my stay/her trip. Highly recommended and hoping to sit for her again. Thanks Christine!
It was a pleasure to sit for Lucy and look after her cat Gypsy. Gypsy is friendly and affectionate and very easy to care for. Lucy has a lovely home and is in a great location, within walking distance to Errol Street and easy access to the city. Lucy provided very clear instructions and was highly communicative throughout the sit. I would be happy to look after Gypsy again, and I highly recommend to others.
I loved my stay hanging out with Luna and Nina. They are the sweetest and friendliest of cats with plenty of personality. Flat is super comfortable and location is also amazingly easy to go explore around Neukölln, Kreuzberg etc. too!
