It was a delight to watch Nuffers and Nellie and spend time in Wendy and French's beautiful Cape Cod home. Wendy and French are wonderful and generous hosts - thank you for giving us a big welcome and making the housesit so enjoyable and easy. Nuffers and Nellie are the sweetest dogs, who loved taking walks in the neighborhood and just being around. And the house: it's beautifully appointed and is spectacularly placed on a pristine lake that was perfect for swimming or simply lounging by. One of my favorite housesits!
We spent a glorious six weeks at Bianca's garden flat in lovely green Oxford. This was truly a fabulous sit, and we hope to return to Estragon and Harvey soon! Pets Estragon and Harvey are truly a unique couple! We loved watching the two of them interact in the garden. Estragon is a playful and affectionate cat, yet completely self-sufficient and very independent. He's hardworking except when lounging on the cushions outside on a sunny day :) Harvey is an absolutely adorable delight--and such a personality! She was relatively easy to let out and shepherd back into the garden on dry/warm days, and we loved having her company in the evenings while we watched a film. The ins and outs of the house setup can appear a bit intimidating from afar, but it's actually quite straightforward in practice. Host Bianca is an excellent host and left meticulous instructions, which were especially helpful as our arrival didn't coincide with her departure. She made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable, left us with money to buy Harvey extra fresh food, and also was extremely attentive to messages. We also had the pleasure of interacting with her parents, who live upstairs (unobtrusively), who were a great help in understanding the ways of Harvey and the garden. They also looked after Harvey a few times in the garden when we needed to go inside for a bit (watching for foxes). House/Area Bianca's flat couldn't be better—spacious, beautifully decorated, calm, clean, and with an incredible garden. Really, there's no need to leave the flat! But it also has the best possible location in Oxford between the canal and the Cherwell just north of the city centre. We walked along the canal every day, enjoyed Jericho and the university, and tried as many pubs as possible. We feel so fortunate to have been chosen for this sit. It was a pleasure taking care of Moose and Zuko in Longmont. Moose is a sweet ,well-behaved Golden with a ton of personality and Zuko is quite entertaining to be around. Zuko is really easy to take care of, so future sitters should not worry if they don't have experience with birds. Everything was organized and the house is very clean and cozy. We arrived in the afternoon and Kelly had prepared some dinner for us which we really appreciated! She also let us use the paddleboards and gave us tips for things to do in the area. It was such a great stay! We hope to be back again in the future.
