Caroline and Martin were both amazing, hospitable people. Caroline has enthusiasingly taking me around for a tour around their very historic house, dated from around the 1500, which was an old Tudor house. I was amazed by some old original wall paintings that was left in tact, as wel as an original well outside. Also has she been showing me an area inside one of the walls that used to be part of a room. There was an old shoe left there from those years. This used to be a superstition or believe of the people who lived there, that the shoe would keep the evil spirits out. The 2 dogs Bean and Frog (the girls), and myself became big buddies. They are very affectionate and well mannered dogs, with good discipline. They were easy to walk, and were good companions in the evening while we were watching movies. They were competing with one another on who would sit closes to me or half-way on me 🤗. They loved playing ball in the huge back-yard garden, where I would throw them the ball and they would playfully compete on who fetched and brought me the ball first. There were still two very cold evenings, the aga in kitchen and the fire-place in the living room were an absolute bonus during these two days. Will sit for this lovely house-hold again.
I met with Anna and Piggy a few days before the sit and received a lovely warm welcome from both. Piggy is such a lovable easy-going dog and likes nothing more than cuddles and belly rubs. She was very well behaved and let me know when she wanted to go out or if I'd forgotten to give her a treat! The local area is very peaceful with plenty of walks straight from the door. Anna kindly left me some goodies and essentials for my stay which was a lovely touch. The guest room is beautifully furnished as is the rest of the home and the bed was soooo comfortable. Although there is a cosy log burner, the annex was plenty warm enough without it. Communication with Anna was excellent, and I would highly recommend this sit. Thank you Anna and Piggy for a lovely stay. Hope to see you both again. xx
It was a pleasure sitting for Kassidy with Ziggy and Sunny for about two weeks. Ziggy and Sunny are two of the sweetest pups and well behaved. They warmed up to me instantly. They were both pretty easy going. Ziggy loves to chase birds and Sunny wants to eat All of the grass. They really enjoy just being under you and in your presence. They get along well with each other also. It was pretty comical getting to know them. I was waiting for them to calm down to start an online meeting and decided to just go for it- soon as I started “talking to myself” they settled quietly on the couch. You would have never known moments before they were having a friendly face off, lol. Which leads me to believe they are accustomed to their parent working from home OR they just thought I was crazy- but soon after, Ziggy brought over his green toy which meant it was time to play tug of war. The cutest thing ever! Sunny wasn’t really into tug of war or chasing balls but she wants to be involved in playtime with Ziggy always. Kassidy was easy to communicate with and leaves simple and clear instructions. The home is in a walkable area with all of the amenities you will need. Perfect location for someone who does not drive. Also, the area is accessible to public transportation. Easy route to downtown attractions and the strip. Plenty of routes to walk the pups also with a dog park nearby and behind the home.
Our hosts were very gracious and kind. Their home is just amazing. Beautiful and comfortable and the gardens should win awards. They left us precise instructions for the care of everything and helped us discover the sights and museums and scenery in Eastern PA. Then there is Nutmeg the kitty. Just adorable! I miss her already. WE had a WONDERFUL 25 days there! Would do this sit again a heartbeat if given the opportunity!
