I had the best time looking after Jess, Molly, Tigs, and Twiggy (and the Fish, Ducks and Goose of course :D) - What an experience! The Goose has a bit of an attitude but Sue made sure to introduce me to everyone and everything, and the instructions where clear and easy to follow. Marinha is nestled in this beautiful area, with heaps of things to do, especially if you are into walking and hiking. Close to the house you can follow many paths and walkways, that are seamed with Cork & Eucalyptus trees and wild Erica bushes (all the blues and greys and pinks :)), such a breathtaking nature. In my 8 days here, we had a lot of rain and storm, but when the sun came out, Jess and I went to explore some hikes close to the home. Only about a 15 min drive away, you can find the "Percurso Interpretativo de Pedrogao Pequeno e Rio Zezere" and the "Fragas de Sao Simao", both of which were absolutely stunning and Jess was the best companion to do these two little adventures with! There is the main house and an onboarding flat, both with fire places and where I had everything I needed and more - Thank you for even providing me with fresh fruit out of the garden, food and wine :) Thank you so much, Sue & Rob, for being such great hosts - You and the animals all made me feel so welcome. I really enjoyed my time staying in your peaceful and unique home! I look forward to coming back and visit you all in future <3
What an amazing experience! Shanthini And Martin were so welcoming. We met them and their lovely daughters the night before the sit started and had a chance to chat over dinner about the routine, location and their amazing neighbourhood. Scooby, Barney and Tiggy are so lovable. They love to go for longer walks and their favourite activity is to play fetch with a ball in the garden or a dog park. We stayed in Shanthini’s house with our 2 young sons and we all enjoyed it so much! The dogs also love to cuddle up on the sofa or in bed with you. They’re absolutely amazing with the kids, we were never worried about anything around them. We would be back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, hope to visit you and the dogs again :)
Craig could not have been kinder or more generous. We arrived a day early, and he gave us a complete tour and very detailed written instructions. He made us a lovely dinner, and we felt like we were spending time with an old friend. Scout is a total sweetheart, very sociable, loving and lots of fun. He loved his daily hikes in the woods as did we. The house is a comfortable old farmhouse with gorgeous views, overlooking the Green mountains, 40 acres of woods and a pond. We definitely enjoyed sitting in the sunroom by the wood burning stove. All in all, it was a wonderful time. We loved Scout to pieces, but please note that he sheds heavily, so be prepared to vacuum. The house is surrounded by woods and very few neighbors, so this sit is a great opportunity for people seeking serenity and quiet.
We couldn’t arrive before Lori left to drive to her flight, but she arranged to have a friend come by to give us a key and introduce us to Marty. Lori left some groceries to get us comfortable the next morning. The town of Mandocino is slow in January, some restaurants are closed because it’s a slow tourism month, but we really enjoyed the quiet town. We were a little under the weather, but there are lots of nature hikes and thundering coastlines. Marty was reluctant the first night to interact very much, but the next morning, he warmed up. Lori’s house has everything you need and we were very comfortable there.
Lovely weekend looking after Bambi and Tinker bell , they are absolutely adorable . Communication with Laurencia was great. Super sit!
