What a beautifully wonderful experience! It was truly a privilege to care for Bella and Winnie in the comfort of Val and Jimmy’s gorgeous home in the idyllic East Dean. The doggies were a joy to care for — so personable and well-behaved. I chucked every time Winnie excitedly went to wake Bella for a breakfast biscuit, or a walk, or playtime, or dinner. Winnie truly loves and cares for Bella — they get along so well. Bella was a real trouper on our walks and both were perfect ladies as we walked through fields of sheep in the South Downs. The walks in the area are absolutely stunning! Whether down the lane into the village, or onto the Downs to see the Seven Sisters, Birling Gap, the Belle Tout lighthouse or Beachey Head, there are nothing but breathtaking views in all directions, with beautiful flint stone and lime buildings and fences adding to the scenery! Winnie accompanied me on a longer walk one day to see The Long Man of Wilmington, something I had read about as a child. It was a very pleasant surprise to spot it on the map and know that it was within walking distance! Val and Jimmy are very gracious hosts — fetching me from the train, providing provisions to get me started, and leaving detailed notes about the house and the area, which made for an extremely pleasant and trouble free sit! Their beautiful home only added to my enjoyment of the area, with spectacular views over the rolling hills down to the coast. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it!
