I had a wonderful time with Spark, Abby, and Buddy. Spark and Abby are very well behaved, very sweet dogs. Spark still had a little wild puppy energy, but never to the point of being difficult to manage. And her mom, Abby, was just a total sweetheart. Tara was a welcoming host and a good communicator, and their home was spacious and comfortable. And of course the Carmel/Monterey area is a wonderful place to visit. I would definitely consider sitting for Tara again.
Weekend at Claire's and Phil's house was the best thing ever. Animals are so cute, polite and easy to take care of. The house and the garden are literally on another level of being beautiful. It was a really quiet place with a lot of time for myself. I loved everything about that sit.
Our sit with Hugo was fantastic and unforgettable. Hugo is such a sweet, well mannered dog. We really miss him. He was very good at letting you know what he wants and has just enough husky drama queen in him to make him hilarious ;-) He needs a few walks a day to use all that energy and otherwise spends most of the day sleeping. We enjoyed teaching him new tricks, making puzzles for him and playing games. We also took him on some outings to dog cafés and he quite enjoyed it. Pia is very sweet, thoughtful and friendly. We were able to meet up before our sit to meet her and Hugo and she showed us around the neighbourhood. Communication was excellent. We had a couple of video chats during the 3 month sit to see how things were going and so she could see Hugo. We stayed in touch easily during the sit via WhatsApp. She was always available and quick to repond. A set of new keys needed to be made and she went out of her way to make sure that was done as soon as possible for us while she was on the other side of the world. Her home was cosy and has a well equipped kitchen with a washer/dryer. We had everything we needed and felt quite at home. It is close to supermarkets and the metro to go into town and you have lovely places all around for long or short walks with Hugo. We'd love to sit for Pia and Hugo again if we have the chance and feel like part of the family!
Pocho and Matilda are delightful, sweet-natured, easy to care for pugs. The medication routine for Pocho is clearly explained through a visual aid showing which pills need to be given and at what time. Pocho had no qualms about taking the medication. Occasionally he would accidentally spit them out through licking his long tongue. Simply pop the medication back down his throat followed by a treat and he would be on his way. Such a love of a dog that he never minded the process one tiny bit. We quickly fell into a routine of morning coffee on the shaded patio, a dip in the hot tub before bathing in the full body massage spray shower, a taco dinner from one of the local East LA taco trucks/restaurants(Guisados came highly recommended and only is roughly blocks away) on the upper patio where you can watch the sunset behind the hills in the distance. We had plenty of time during the day between medication times to explore Los Angeles and meet up with friends. If you find yourself there on Sunday take a walk over to Mariachi Plaza to listen to mariachi music being played throughout the afternoon. The house itself was lovingly decorated -- there are so many interesting little discoveries! Public transportation and main highways are not far away from this urban bungalow. The backyard oasis was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life in Los Angeles. And where we spent the majority of our time with the pugs. The welcome guide was very helpful -- aside from all the necessary info about caring for Pocho, Matilda and the house, recommendations on restaurants, attractions and a gift basket with some snacks was left for us to enjoy. It's so nice to have these extra details and advice when you're in a new place. We highly recommend this house sit with two loveable pugs. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
We loved Drake and Arlo! I had so much fun taking them on walks. Their home is close to a starbucks and so it made perfect for a morning walk. Katy and Brice’s house was beautiful and had a really comfy guest room. We were able to spend some comfy time in and explore Portland during our stay. Awesome experience 😎
Jackie and Malcolm were the perfect hosts and made me feel welcome and at home as soon as I walked through the door. Their modern home is beautiful, Immaculate and clean. The garden is lovely too. Maisie is a real character and I really felt sad to leave her. Both her and Betty are so well behaved and no bother at all. There are some lovely walks nearby and some nice places to visit. A perfect house sit which I would love to do again.
