Thanks to Sequoia, we were able to attend a family reunion with peace of mind. Sequoia went above and beyond to care for our dog and home. Sequoia followed our somewhat complicated schedule for our high needs dog with health problems, including various medications throughout the day, prescription baths and controlled walking for our dog’s handicap. Sequoia corresponded with our dog’s doctors and took our dog to an appointment. Most of all, Sequoia gave our dog the attention and love that she needed during this challenging time in her life. We feel so thankful to have found someone so patient and reliable as Sequoia. Sequoia also took good care of our yard and left things tidy! Highly recommended!

We had such a great time staying at Laurie's home. She was excellent about communication leading up to the sit and leaving clear instructions and information. Her home is very comfortable and well set-up, and her pets are all very sweet and good-natured. There were the usual roster of minor animal challenges (a shy cat, a dog who like attention, etc.), but all within the realm of perfectly normal pet personalities. All of the pets are well-adjusted and like to stick to their daily routines, so we all got comfortable together quickly. I would definitely recommend this family and would sit for them again!
Penny was very welcoming and organised and was generous with her time. She was a great host and showed us around town and all the spots that we needed to know about before she left. The house is clean and modern and has some amazing views out the kitchen window over a valley and hills of olive trees. The neighbour was friendly too and brought around cherries off her tree and home-made salami and also gave us a lift in to town to go shopping. She didn’t speak a word of English, so Google Translate came in very handy there. Alcalá la Real has an amazing history with a double or triple walled old town and abbey with stunning views over the town and surrounding countryside. For 6 Euros you gain entry to the whole area and can wander through the ruins of the old town and see the old wine cellars and huge clay pots that stored the wine. Unfortunately, Napoleon burnt the abbey but they’ve restored it and has a great video of the history of Alcala inside the abbey..a very worthwhile visit (it has a free audio guide for that price too). We thoroughly enjoyed looking after Penny’s 3 cats, Tan, Leah and Blacky. They were easy going, affectionate and a pleasure to look after. We’d be very happy to house sit again if the opportunity arose and we were in the area. If you get the chance we highly recommend house sitting for Penny. You might even be lucky enough to have a swim in her pool, the work on it was just starting as we left.
We had such a lovely weekend looking after Hugo! He was so well behaved and easy going, by the end of the weekend he became like my little shadow. Skye was just as lovely and made us feel so welcome in her home, we would definitely recommend this sit to anyone!
I had a great stay at Ross and Kate's, looking after their lovely dog Elvis. They ensured I had everything I needed and even were so kind to leave a nice bottle of wine for me in the fridge. They are relaxed and warm people, I visited them and Elvis before the stay and immediately felt welcomed into their home. Elvis is a sweet and chilled little dog who enjoys lounging on his bean bag and a good sniff around the neighbourhood! The house is lovely and the bed in the guest room was notably comfortable. Overall I had a great experience during this house sit. Thank you Ross and Kate!
Rob and Patrice are loving pet parents. The kitties, Madalyn and Butterscotch, are incredibly, unbelievably, loving and sweet! They do have long hair, which we combed daily, and they tolerated it with amazing patience. This seemed to help considerably with their shedding. Liberty is a lovely mellow big girl who is a little stubborn, but not willful. She does not like to be left alone, so we honored her wish to always be where we were. Luckily, Liberty is a perfect car passenger. There are plenty of nearby places that are dog friendly, where Liberty is well behaved, and walks nicely on the leash. She is good with all people, kids, and dogs, and when we were there, treated her kitty sisters respectfully. They have an infrared sauna and a massage bed (heaven!), as well as a jacuzzi. Nearby are several walks, cafes, stores, etc. Rancho Santa Fe is a cute village with a weekly car show on Saturdays and a Farmers Market on Sundays. We enjoyed having access to Patrice’s fresh local nuts and baking supplies, as well as fresh garden herbs, peppers, and zucchini. The tomatoes were plentiful but not quite ripe, so we enjoyed them as fried green tomatoes! Their garden is simply a slice of heaven, and I enjoyed getting my hands dirty in it every day! A therapeutic experience for me! Their home is a CA ranch (no steps), with no TV. We have a travel trailer and have spent weeks at a time without TV, so this is not a problem for us; just something to be aware of.
