Pam and Mike did a last minute one night sit for me, and were great! I threw a few curveballs at them (foster kittens, a critter under the deck, and an elderly accident prone dog - which were not part of my profile), but they were super accommodating and understanding, and luckily had experience with all! We had twice found sitters for this sit & on each occasion, for different reasons, the sits fell through. We were becoming a little concerned & so were very pleased when David & Wilma applied. They were arriving in Portugal some days before the sit & so we felt fairly confident that third time lucky would be the case this time. We met them on Skype & felt confident in confirming them as our sitters. They were calm, caring & reliable which was just what we needed for our elderly dog. All was well on our return, which we were very grateful for.

What a lovely location for a getaway! Robin's house is comfortable, has dependable wifi, and is a short drive from lots of great places in the Scottish Highlands. While there, I was able to work but also do lots of exploring. Robin and his wife, Chrissie, were warm and welcoming when I arrived. I took care of their two cats, fed/watered the chickens, and watered plants. Easy stuff. Hot water for anything other than the shower is warmed by the wood stove -- so if you're not familiar with how to light and maintain one, be sure to get a thorough demonstration. I had no problems at all while I was there. The cats adopted me right away! They were affectionate and fun. (Their dog, Loki, went along on their trip.) If you would like to spend time outside of the Scottish cities, consider caring for their place near they tiny town of Foyers. You'll enjoy a beautiful, quiet retreat.
