Christine and Todd have a bright, renovated house with a fun bunch of kitties. Location is fantastic. You're near a couple of main roads but they have a privacy fence all around, and the property is elevated a bit, so you feel secluded. And then when you want to go out, you're in Bend, where it's pretty hard to be bored. Elsa, Iris, Twister and Goose each have their own kittyosyncrasies. Twister is very aggressive about being fed and eating the other cats' food. Elsa will beg to go out but is good about being led back inside around 11pm. Iris was the most affectionate of the bunch and I suspect would warm up to me even more on a longer sit. Goose... sat under the bed most of the time. They have specific feeding routines a sitter needs to take note of, although I ended up leaving Goose's food right next to the guest bed and closing the bedroom door for awhile so Twister wouldn't get to it. Twister eventually learned this and started hanging out under the bed too... smart kitty. After I booked the sit their schedules apparently changed and I only saw Christine, not Todd. I believe another commitment came up where they could have canceled the sit, but still honored it (and were still out of the house the whole time). I appreciate that they honored the sit, but on the other hand, had they told me of their situation, I may have been able to book a different sit that fit my travel plans a bit better and Christine may not have felt obligated to leave. This also meant the arrival and departure schedule were slightly different than what I was expecting. I realize their intentions were good and they don't deserve to be marked down for honoring the sit. But if other life events pop up I understand and don't need to be "owed" a sit. Being informed of their situation may have given us all more flexibility. It was still a pleasant experience, and I'd love to be back!
I had such lovely, peaceful time looking after Suki in Julie and Mark's charming home in the little village if Worstead. It was perfect for me to visit the coast and countryside with Suki and then painting back at their house. Kind and friendly hosts. I'd love to Suki Sit again.
My partner and I had a wonderful time looking after Leon and Frijol. They are super lovely cats and so simple to look after. Some of the best cats I have ever met and we had a lot of fun looking after and spending time with them. It was so funny and interesting to see their individual personalities unfold. We were honoured to have stayed at this beautiful flat and it was really lovely to meet our hosts at the beginning and the end of the housesit. We really fell in love with Madrid, which was also thanks to great local tips from Julien and Ivo!
My sit with Sandra, Enya, Weeman and Bee was great! Sandra is so welcoming, hospitable and easy to talk to. She made me so comfortable from the get go and made sure I had everything I needed for a great sit. The house is beautiful, comfortable and well located with quick access to the city but also at the base of the Pentland Hills, which make for such beautiful walks with Enya. Speaking of Enya - she is such a sweetheart. Easy going, affectionate and great on the lead, she’s such a fun little companion and I had a great time with her! Bee mostly keeps to herself but if you’re lucky enough for her to venture out, she’s a sweet and loving cat. Weeman on the other hand is outgoing and absolutely adores attention, so you’ll get in lots of cat cuddles. All in all they are very easy and loving animals who made my stay a dream. I would 100% recommend this sit and would do it again anytime :)
My family and I spent a fantastic week in Katy with Bruno. It’s tough to leave! Bruno is not only cuddly but also has a delightful personality and is very smart. So adorable! Bruno stares at you with those big eyes, looking utterly content with life as he sits on your lap and snuggles up for a belly rub. He warmed right up to our daughter Georgia (age 10) and our son CJ (age 13) and had a great time jumping up on their beds to wake them up in the mornings. He loved walking and hanging out with us during our virtual school and work days. Visakh and his family did a fantastic job of making our visit pleasant and smooth. We appreciated how much thought they put into preparing their home for us. They showed us everything we needed to know about their house and provided information about the area. Communication was always easy. The house is set in beautiful Katy, Texas. Their home is warm, comfortable, and easy to maintain. It’s within walking distance of a shopping center with everything you could possibly need. Katy is a lovely area, and the complex where they live has a great pool and fitness center that we also enjoyed. We had a great housesit and highly recommend it to others!
