We had a lovely relaxing time over Christmas and New Year despite the horrid weather. The house was lovely and decorated for Christmas to make us feel welcome. Communication and information was excellent. Poppy is a friendly well-behaved dog who loves going for walks (and lying on sofas!). There are no 'buts' or 'maybes' about this sit - we thoroughly recommend it.

House/Pet sitting for Kathy and David on beautiful and tranquil Kittery Point offers tremendous opportunity to discover Maine’s southern-most part. The location can’t be beat - view of the sea from upstairs, and not even 10 minutes by car to get to Fort Foster park, Seapoint or Crescent Beaches, as well as Portsmouth - visits to which we highly recommend. McClary Fort Park is an easy walk away as is a lovely little bistro.

Although meeting the demands of a 3 meals-a-day feeding schedule for the cats along with needed meds, assorted treats and kitty play time leaves for less concentrated time to explore the area than hoped for.

Loki is a love, and little Rill, while having a reputed “skittish” disposition, did come around too after day one of hiding, and proved to be very curious and full of play. Both cats insist on the scheduling that has been laid out for them, and will let you know exactly how they wish their treats, etc handed them.

The house is warm and charming but somewhat quirky as many old homes are. The 10+ pages of instructions for cat and house care, albeit somewhat daunting, was somewhat helpful given the idiosyncratic electric wiring for lights, rooms that needed to be closed off, etc..

This was a fantastic housesit! I had the pleasure of spending time with little Diego. This little guy is so sweet. He spends a lot of time napping but loves attention. If you rub neck and scratch him under the collar he will lay next to you forever begging you to never stop. He will follow you to every room and I found him always near my side. His favorite past times are barking at people who pass the front gate (a rare occasion) and rolling in the middle of the guest bed while the sitter is not in the room. Then he spends the night at the foot of the bed, content until you wake up in the morning.

As far as the rest of the fur family, I did not get a chance to spend time with Jose and Rosa but I did get to meet them before I left. Jose is very shy and will probably avoid you for a while. He is very weary of new people. Rosa is playful and full of high energy and happily greats new members to the home. As soon as I opened the door she wanted to give me a hug and lick me. Jose and Rosa typically start playing and bring Diego into the action.

Cara and Frederick are such kind and thoughtful hosts. They immediately made me feel at ease when I arrived. They are the type of people you want to just sit and have a long conversation with over a drink as they are so friendly and warm. They had great communication throughout my stay and were available should any questions arise. They were genuinely concerned that I was enjoying my stay in their home and in the city of Merida. In addition, Cara provided me excellent recommendations on things to do in the area.

Their modern and artistic home is a tropical sanctuary and a perfect reflection of the things that they enjoy. I found their pool a perfect escape during the hottest part of the day and used it often. Although the location of their home is outside the main city, I found that Uber and DiDi were available most times of day and evening as long as I was willing to wait for a vehicle. I worked online while at the property and found the Wi-Fi to be fast and reliable. The neighborhood is also very safe and quiet. It is a place where the neighbors wave at you and say ‘Buenos Dias’ to everyone. You can walk down the street to the small market to get a few grocery staples as needed. If you appreciate a slower pace of life this is the perfect sit for you. And the homeowners are such wonderful and interesting people, it is a win-win!

I hope to have the opportunity to watch Diego again and feel grateful to Cara and Frederick for trusting me with their home and of course my new friend Diego.

Mr. Ruckle Findlay is a cuddle puddle of a kitty. He was the purfect companion for my lazy sunny Sunday afternoon in Kits. He likes to be walked on a leash and is super chill. Jenn is a communictive host who is easy going and quick to respond to any queries I have. The location of this sit is super convient and cozy, with a backyear made for reading! Thanks Jenn, I would happily sit for you again!

I loved sitting for Snow and Nimbus! Marco was very available for questions and Snow and Nimbus were just the sweetest two cats, each in their very own way.

Would love to sit again! Thank you.
