Mary was clear in all communications, and quick to respond to any queries in advance of the stay. It was a joy to stay in her lovely home, looking after the very lovely Apollo and Echo, both of whom happily, quickly became constant companions for the week I was there. There are many enjoyable walks close by with wonderful views, and interesting places to explore, and these young dogs are a delight. Mary retains back up of a local team should there be any issues affecting the dogs or house; for potential sitters this provides a layer of local support in the event in the event that you'd need assistance in that way if she were away. My only hesitation for a potential sitter would be that this region of the IOW is fairly hilly, with steps - so should be a consideration for a sitter with mobility issues, as would perhaps limit the enjoyment of exploring that you'd be able to have with the dogs - which is the reason you're doing it. I would definitely be happy to re-sit for Mary and the dogs if I were free on any future dates. I definitely felt a pang in my heart leaving these two dear canine friends!! All the best!
What a lovely house sit. Outstanding beautiful scenery; a beautiful home; such incredible, friendly and accommodating hosts; and the icing on top was Islay. I was very privileged to look after the adorable, funny, playful and loving Islay. She is well disciplined and so intelligent, she amazed me. Be ready to play rugby / football and lots of games - what fun :) I loved this house sit. Many thanks Tor and Islay.
Great communication, easy to understand instructions, sweet loveable cats and a gorgeous apartment in a perfect location with super comfortable bed! Shannon and John are lovely people I’d be happy to sit for anytime. Highly recommend! Thank you so much.
I have had a great time housesitting in Lonay; the location is beautiful with views of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) from the house, the cozy town of Morges around the corner and nice walks through open fields from the doorstep. They moved into this house recently and are about to start a big renovation so this place only will get better, I am very curious for the result! Beautiful little Olive is a supersweet girl who loves to be around you; wherever you would go around the house she will follow you :) she loves to go out for walks and seems to be able to play fetch never ending, especially with pine cones. She is well behaved and listens quite well, so no problem to let her off the leash where possible. The young and energetic Betty Blue is a real character, fully in her adolescence! She has a lot of energy, prefers the food from Olive or from the cats over her own (however, shoes and packagings are even more interesting) and is a good watchdog 😏 she most certainly will drive you crazy at times but it’s difficult to get mad at her because she is such a sweetheart. She loves to play with other dogs (as long as they aren’t too big, then they are scary) and can run through the fields with them like she won’t ever get tired.. which is a good way to have her a little calmer at home :) I took them a couple of times for a walk a little bit further up, which was nice and they had a lot of fun running around, but to drive somewhere by car is a high price to pay for a nice walk, according to Betty; she’s not happy in there! Still she could enjoy the different surroundings so I hope for her that with a little practice she’ll get more used to it. The cats aren’t a lot of work since they practically spend their lives under/next to the bed during the day as long as the dogs are around. Tache is a cool girl who did show her face every once in a while (and even stood her ground when Betty tried to chase her) and loves to cuddle! Marvin and Coco are unfortunately too scared for the dogs to come out of their hiding place during the day and live their lives quietly during the nights. If you are lucky (and patient) you might have the chance to get a short cuddle with Marvin once the dogs are locked up in the bedroom at night, he is a beautiful strong and affectionate sweetheart who loves attention. Coco is living her own life and won’t show herself. I had a nice and easy contact with Tamara from the first moment, she is easy going and relaxed and if I had a question she responded quickly. She left a printed map and all the instructions for the animals for me and gave some nice tips about things to do in the surrounding. All in all I had a special time in Lonay and I do miss the company of my new furry friends; I look forward to see them all again!
Kiki and Cleo were so much fun! Kiki definitely warmed up to me first sooner, but Cleo definitely became really comfortable soon after. These guys were full of energy and playful antics. Brett was a great communicator and very helpful if I needed anything. The location itself is excellent - right by a bus stop and subway station, really close to excellent restaurants as well. I'd highly recommend sitting Kiki and Cleo!
The best sitting with best HO's! Paul & Niki are super kind, very welcoming, and easy to communicate with. They made sure that we are comfortable staying there. They can tell you where is good to walk and good to eat :) We had amazing time with their big family. You might think it could be overwhelming to sit 5 of them but actually it was not so difficult. Here are some tip to be with them. All of them like to be pet but especially Rio. Dexter can get hyper energetic if he hears some other dogs barking. You being calm and talking to him calmly would help him calm down. Bella is a smart girl. She'll listen to you what's good or not good to do. We'd recommend you to give her treats when she behaves well while walking. Ruby has hard time peeing outside. She doesn't like noisy places. The park on the hill is her favorite place and she would pee there if you're lucky. And Bob the cat is chill. He comes to you when he wants to be cuddled. The house is new and amazing! You'll enjoy the sunset view. The location is great. It's about 15 minutes walk from Alhambra and also from the city center. And not far from the house, there are bunch of good places to eat. The difficult thing of this sitting was that we got so attached to those furry guys and it was sad to say bye. We definitely recommend this sitting!
