What a wonderful experience ! First of all, the dogs!! Ziggy & Mila are just great labs with superb training so walking them was easy and fun. The home , the setting and the Quiet country lifestyle are to be recommended highly. Our 9 day stay was made very personable as we also enjoyed getting to know the Glovers , both right before our house sit and afterwards. Clearly it was a 5star experience and one we would happily repeat!
Where to even begin?! This sit was all around incredible! Andrea was a wonderfully considerate, caring hostess and we felt fortunate to get to spend so much time with her before our sit officially began! She clearly wanted everything to be just so, and she worked her tail off to make it that way! My son really took to her and enjoyed helping to collect the fruit & veggies that she wanted to offer us, to feast on during our time there. The home itself is like a dream: all wood and light and windows with views of the ocean in the distance. Every morning, I sat & watched the waves or followed the fog as it moved through the hills. This was such a peaceful place to be. The furniture and beds were comfy and the cats took turns sharing the couch at night and the primary bed with me throughout our stay. And that’s the best part! These 5 cats were all amazing! They were each different, and each one offered something special. One of them took a fair amount of time to get comfortable coming inside with “strangers” in there, but I just set up a little nest & food station where he was (in the garage) & let him come to us on his own time; by the end, he was comfortable, which warmed my heart. The rest of the babies were little loves right from the start, & though they’re all indoor/outdoor kitties, we found that they preferred to be with us to being outside for long. They also seemed to like walking together to the greenhouse or around the property, hanging out on the west deck when the deer were near, and sitting on the steps of the east deck as the day warmed. We loved this sit and hope to remain friends with Andrea and would be thrilled to sit the kitties anytime! If you get the chance to be in this space with these littles, do consider bringing groceries from someplace less expensive, but don’t pass up the opportunity! There should be more than 5 stars for this sit!!
First experience in this site couldn't be better. <3 Carrot is such a beautiful dog. She is powerful, strong, caring, happy, obidient, playful partner. She is up for everything you want. She follow instructions. Is very clear on comunicating what she wants. Loves being around you. Loves being caresed and also I took her for a few runs on the trails and she managed perfectly. Gave 0 problems and lots of love and good company. Sarah is a very sweet person, I didn't have the chance to met the rest of the family but I saw the pics of a very nice healthy nature lovers family. Sarah is generous, kind, easy to communicate with. Along the me staying in her house I had the opportunity to receive her kindness and generosity. I got fast answers to the 3 or 4 questions I needed to do during the siting. Always gentle. The house is located in a beautiful spot in the mountains, in a the very nice city I live too. Perfect for those who are lovers of exploring nature, trails, calm. I had all my breakfast in the front porche. The house is clean, organized, all what any person needs to have a relaxing time. And the landscape and location is just a gift for the senses. 100% happy to have had the opportunity to help Sarah in her vacation time and enjoy the time with carrot in their mountain home.
Had a lovely time at Cathy’s, such a generous couple giving us free range of their lovely home. Which is very easy to keep clean. Communication was excellent with a very detailed information pack, containing everything we could possibly need and details of three people, should we need to get hold of someone. Excellent internet service and all the tv channels, giving us plenty to watch. Beautiful area with lots to see, we’re familiar with the area, which is why we were keen to stay but this sit is perfectly sited. Tesco, Lidl, BnM and a fabulous Chinese takeaway, moments from the front door and the M4 is also just moments away yet it’s really quiet and private where the house is. Lovely little woodland walk along the river Wye right on the doorstep. And best of all the most delightful pair of daschunds! Daphne and Dotty, a delightful pair of dogs that we’ll be forever in love with. Daphne is a lovely round little creature who loves nothing more than snuggling up to your neck and talking away to you, beautifully house trained, she tells you when they both need to go out. Dotty is a bundle of energy who will happily play ball all day but equally happy to snuggle in. They were both happy to travel in the car with us and will walk for ages when out. Daphne likes to plod along beside you and Dotty likes to lead the way. They can be safely left for a few hours, and equally pleased to see you return. I’d happily sit this pair again.
Honestly, I am not sure that we could have had a better first experience with TrustedHouesitters. Rob and Cammie couldn’t have been more welcoming, kind, and generally just awesome. The communication was so good prior to our sit that we already felt as if we knew each other. We were invited to arrive a night early so that we could have dinner and get acquainted with Luna, Dakota, and the house in a lovely relaxed way. We were made to feel completely at home immediately with Rob and Cammie being beyond lovely in offering for us to use anything that we wanted/needed in the house - from snow shoes, to the truck, to whatever was in the fridge! Now to the furry family - we are both completely in love with Luna. She was such an amazing companion to have on our adventures. She is so well-behaved and a delight to take out. We loved our days out exploring the range of incredible hikes in and around Salida. She was so friendly immediately and loves to be around people to have hugs and be involved. Dakota, however, took a little longer to warm to us. He played it cool at first and carried on with his routine of sleeping lots. But after a few days, he was sleeping on our bed and hanging out with us for strokes. Salida is a dream destination if you’re into the outdoors. We loved it so much that we extended our stay and booked into a local lodge so we could hang out longer. We hope to come back and see everyone again in the future for many more housesits. Anyone who gets to stay with Luna and Dakota, and meets Rob and Cammie is very lucky!
What a joy it was to spend time with such sweet little souls! Biggs and Molly are so precious! They were easy to care for and brought so much happiness to our hearts. We really enjoyed staying here as their home is beautiful, cozy, and so so peaceful! Gilbert is a wonderful area and everything we needed was conveniently located nearby which was a big plus. Instructions were thorough and clear which made everything go smoothly. I would love to care for these sweet babies again in the future if it aligns and highly recommend this sit! Thank you!
