My experience pet-sitting for Archie, an incredibly intelligent and well-behaved dog, was nothing short of delightful. First off, Archie is an extreme sweetheart. His intelligence shines through in his impressive repertoire of tricks, including sit, shake, spin, come, nose touch, and the remarkable ability to wait for approval before leaving through a door (I did not know you could teach a dog such patience!). Not only did his tricks amaze me, but his overall behavior was also commendable. Archie was well-behaved around people, and he also loves to keep you company, but never in a needy way - he seems to always be focused on cheering you up instead. Elizabeth did mention that Archie has some dog reactivity - however I want to temper this with my own anecdote of Archie literally never barking or growling at a single other dog while on a walk during my 10 day stay with him. However, it is important to note while he was well-behaved with me, I do not want to encourage carelessness, so please make sure you are dog savvy enough to handle such situation just in case it arises. On our walks, Archie proved to be an avid sniffer, truly exploring the world around him. Yet, he was always good at listening and would move on as soon as I asked him to. His charming personality and obedient nature made our time together an absolute joy. As far as the location, Elizabeth's home is a cute, charming, warm, and welcoming environment that I felt very comfortable in. When I first met Elizabeth, her friendliness and patience were evident. She took the time to talk me through everything I needed to know about her home and Archie's care. It's easy to see why she's well known by her neighbors to be an A+ dog mom! Elizabeth went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to care for Archie. Not only that, she really made me feel like I was welcome in her home, showing a ton of generosity and kindness trying to make me feel like it was my own home while she was away. Thank you so much!
Goldie and Bob are wonderful, kind people. Their home is beautiful, clean, and located in such a special community. It's quiet, relaxing and surrounded in nature. A perfect mix of meadows, cypress trees, and ocean. The stars of the show are of course Jasper and Roscoe. Such sweet and well behaved kitties. Pretty routined and easy to take care of. They both love hunting and playing outside. They love to be scratched while eating their special wet food dinner, and then both cuddled for late night tv before bed. I'll sure miss them!
We really enjoyed all aspects of this sit. Chris and Cathy were very friendly and welcoming, and very easy to communicate with. Millie and Ruby were very sweet. Millie's exuberance at life was evidenced by her non-stop tail wagging, and Ruby just quietly got on with everything. They were great to take out, they never strayed too far and were very chilled around other dogs. The house was beautiful, was in a good location, and looked out over fields and into the distance. We totally recommend house-sitting for Chris and Cathy.... thank you for having us!
Jana was very responsive during our sit and it was so great getting to know her and her husband. Leaving those dogs at the end of the week was very hard. They each have such unique personalities we got very attached to them while we were there. They kept life entertaining. I can't say enough about how beautiful Jana's home is! A stunning view from every window in the house and an amazing community to be apart of for a week. There were fantastic $5 vegan lunches down the road. We would sit for Jana again in a heartbeat! We highly recommend this sit.
I had such a great time at Vanessas home with Nala and Smoky. I arrived earlier so I got to spent some time with Vanessa. She was super welcoming right from the start. We had a great time talking and exchanging experiences. Also we had a fun day at the lake with one of her friends. The two cats are easy to get along with. Nala is always down to cuddle while Smoky likes to be left alone most of the time. I also had enough time to explore Vienna during the days. The evenings I kept the cats company . I often played with them which was fun. The flat itself was modern and there was everything you need on a daily base. All in one I had a perfect first sitter experience and I am glad I was able to get to know Vanessa. I hope we will see each other again some time. :)
I enjoyed my week sitting for Catherine and Alan! They have a beautiful home and yard, sweet dogs, and everything I needed for the week. I appreciated having the car available, though I didn’t use it. Kamir and Finn were easy going and playful…Very smart dogs. I look forward to sitting again soon!
