We all had a great time house sitting at Maryrose's family’s beautiful home and felt so welcomed when we arrived. Even though we didn't meet any of the human family, the house had clearly been made spotless for our arrival, the bedrooms were lovely and the children had even left little notes for us. Maryrose was very organised, ensuring we had all the information needed for the house and each pet, even sending video instructions whilst she was in the middle of packing for her holiday. We were a little nervous about looking after so many pets but we needn’t have been worried, as they were all gorgeous with their own daily routines (and unlikely to let us forget them). Details on places to visit were in the welcome pack, as were cafes, restaurants and great recommendations on where to walk the dogs or cycle. All in all it was a wonderful house-sit experience. We fell in love with all the pets, thoroughly enjoyed looking after each of them and are extremely grateful to Maryrose for making us feel so welcome.
Kris and Rob were so very accommodating! They had me come a day early, picked me up from the ferry and showed me around the island - and even had me stay a couple days longer after they were home before my next house sit. They have a nice big house with great porches - you may see deer, owls, and woodpeckers! Both cats are friendly - Chloe was usually more interested in being entertained outdoors and Maggie liked to hang out with me after warming up after a day or two. Great sit and fun to be able to explore Bainbridge Island.
It was an absolute pleasure to sit for Rob & Sue, taking care of their Toy Poodle – Poppy. Firstly, the location is superb being just a short walk from the café district of The Parade – yet far enough away not to be in amongst the noise. There is a bus stop on Magill Road, which is a very short walk away and you can be in the city in 10 minutes. It really is the best of both worlds, close to everything – yet not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Their house is an immaculate two-story duplex which is part of a small complex. Extremely secure and very well looked after. Rob and Sue are clearly very house proud; however, their openness and clear communication allowed for a perfect sit and they made us feel very comfortable right from the start. All information was laid out for us and we felt instantly at ease in being there. As for Poppy, well it was difficult saying goodbye to her and we will certainly miss her. She is absolutely adorable and a dream to care for. The daily walks were like a social outing with Poppy walking very well on a light lead, waiting (and sitting) before crossing any roads and just simply enjoying being out and about. Add in some ball chasing at home and other than that it was just rest and cuddle time. She is a very well-behaved pooch who was hilarious when trying to get her out of bed in the mornings. Poppy sleeps on the bed and was happy just being up against one of us. Every morning when it was time to get up, she would give us the look of “not yet” and growl away in her own special way – all noise and as soon as we picked her up, she stopped and was ready for the day. No issues at all with anything and we would highly recommend a sit with Poppy for Rob & Sue.
This was one of my favourite sits of all time! I spent 3.5 months in Blandford Forum & Charlton Marshal watching over the lovely Lady Molly and the handsome Lord Hardy. I fell in love. It was amazing how Hardy cared for his much older sister. When out and about on our afternoon walks, I'd say, "Go get Molly!" when she'd wander off by herself and Hardy would sprint over and circle his diminutive, ancient sister until she reoriented. She was struggling a little bit in her 17th year, her hearing almost gone. (RIP sweet little Molly. she went on the Great Walkie in the Sky shortly after my sit concluded) Our afternoons by the wood-burner on cold and rainy late winter afternoons were sublime. Hardy is probably the smartest animal I've ever cared for. Kudos to Ken for his masterful dog training. Ken & Lynne's home was quite lovely - fully stocked with everything a sitter could need. Very comfortable. The home is decorated with a great, very tasteful mix of contemporary, vintage and antique appointments. Their kitchen is so cosy, stocked and fun to cook in. Every modern convenience is present from WI-FI to TV to alarm systems. Their property bordered an old rail line converted to a trail for extended walks. We spent hours and hours there every week. And then the ladies in the coop, who provided us with fresh eggs every single day, fantastic - Blandford Forum's all creatures great & small. I would recommend this sit to anyone. From this prime location, I was able to venture out and explore the magical Jurassic Coast, Salsbury Cathedral and Stone-Henge. The local nearby villages are extremely charming. Virtually anything you may need is close by. Finally, EXCELLENT communication and follow-up from Ken & Lynne. I'll be jealous if you take this sit, but it's understandable!
Finn & Vlossy are a very friendly and fun pair. They took to us right away and were great companions. Kate & Jamie left clear, thorough instructions and were very proactive. Their home is spacious and impeccably clean. Folkestone is a lovely town with lots of interesting shops and beautiful areas to walk and enjoy the coast. We highly recommend this sit!
This is a great pet sit! Ubaldo and Tara are very kind, welcoming and easy to communicate with. Their home is in a great location for exploring the Detroit or Ann Arbor area. It was cute, clean and comfortable as well! The best part was of course the doggos! They are the literal sweetest. Very easy to care for and super chill. I would gladly return and recommend this sit to anyone.
