We have always been pleased with the good care our Siberian husky, Aurora, who suffers from mild hip dysplasia, has received at North Shore Pet Connection. When we go on vacation, it gives us peace of mind to know that she is in good hands from the caring staff.
We gave this review several weeks to allow the temperature of our interactions to cool off and soften. However, we remain very upset and disappointed, having boarded our beloved pups here several times previously. Costs were NOT communicated during either booking and/or dropoff, and so we picked our dogs up to an awfully large bill- over $500 higher than we were expecting. In trying to resolve it, the owner got defensive and said “My staff is too busy to notify all customers of rate increases". The invoice also included a $30/dog fee for July 4th because "my staff has to give up their holiday", which again, was never communicated. Nor have we encountered this kind of charge before, here or anywhere else. They also maintained that their fees are comparable to other facilities, which they are not, because we did the work and checked. Finally, we took steps to resolve this amicably, but instead we were made to feel like the disconnect was all our fault. Which is quite telling. As such, we won’t be using NSPC again.
After my beloved dog sitter closed up shop, I was so worried about finding another facility that felt like home, and would treat my dog as an individual. Then I discovered NSPC! I loved the smaller scale, home setting. Having just adopted an adult English Mastiff, I was so happy that they were willing to let her come for a 'test drive' before her big weekend stay. The loving staff here really care about these animals as an individual. I am so happy with NSPC. We will be back in a few weeks.
I have always appreciated how happy and well cared for my dog and my granddogs are at pet connection! The facility is clean, the pets are well cared for and the owner Diane has a wealth of knowledge and experience caring for animals, especially the special needs pets! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and safe place!
16 months ago we brought Buddy ( now 3 years old ) home to be a part of our family!! He is the sweetest boy, but everything was new to him. We worked with a trainer and he has come along way!! Now it was time for him to make some friends!! It was important to find a place where he could be comfortable and take it slow. We are brand new to Pet Connection and are over joyed with our experience!!!! He was able to acclimate to the new environment and bond with the staff the first day!! Second day he was so excited to go in!! The staff slowly introduced him to another dog--then another. When I picked him up he had made 3 friends and was the happiest boy!!! Buddy can't wait to see his new friends next week!! I fully trust him in their care and am excited to be a part of the Pet Connection Family!!!
North Shore Pet Connection (NSPC) is the ONLY place in the Milwaukee area that I will board my special needs, soon to be 20 year old cat, Cookie. Cookie takes multiple pill medications each day, as well as a calorie supplement and NSPC always ensures she receives the care she needs. I’ve taken Cookie to other boarding facilities in the area, and experienced her coming back looking thinner or otherwise not herself, but she seems to love NSPC. Tina and Isabel typically care for Cookie while she’s with NSPC, and they ALWAYS send daily photos with email updates throughout her boarding stays. They know how much I worry about Cookie with her health issues, and they are diligent about providing the love and care that she needs! Cookie recently had a health scare (due to her age and existing conditions), and the owner Diane was SO KIND and HELPFUL in walking me through the health emergency options and steps. I don’t know what I would’ve done without her support in that challenging time. Thankfully Cookie has recovered, and has been able to spend more time at NSPC- her home away from home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NSPC to any pet owner!!!
We had just adopted our 4 year old rescue dog about 1.5 months prior to a trip we had planned. Being new to us and not knowing her full history, they recommended having her spend 2 shorter visits prior to our trip. They spent extra time to appropriately assess her behaviors and needs. They were great with helping her slowly adjust to new people and a few other dogs. By the time of our trip, we felt confident she was in great hands!
Having been new to the area (moved cross country with my pup) I wasn’t sure of where I could go that would have the patience to take care of my dog who takes some time to warm up to humans. We tried one daycare and he lasted a total of 9 minutes. We then stumbled upon North Shore Pet Connection and met with Diane who was so warm and welcoming. She has been incredibly caring with our dog who attends daycare every week and he is so excited whenever we drop him off! Diane has a really great space and huge backyard for the dogs to play..our pup is always exhausted when we pick him up. Her staff has also been amazing (shout out to Christine) and we couldn't recommend them enough. They are also great with boarding and we wouldn't trust leaving our dog with anyone else.
Had an excellent experience with the folks at NSPC! I have an older dog that has trouble socializing, so decided to try them out since they cater to older and special needs pets. So glad I did! My pup was very well cared for and got to play with another dog for the first time in a while :) She didn't want to leave! Booking, drop-off and pickup were all a breeze. Looking forward to our next visit this weekend and many more to come!
We LOVE NSPC for our pup with some special needs. Our 1.5 year old lab mix has some anxiety for which he also takes medication. He loves his overnight stays at NSPC and always comes home the happiest little boy! They really care for each dog individually to be sure their needs are met and they have a good time. They allow us to have some dog free vacations, and we don’t have to worry at all about how he’s doing because we know he’s in great hands!
Mallory and her team of pet professionals are detail-oriented and care for your pets every need with detail and love. Highly reccomend for extended pet care and personalized service. Nothing falls through the cracks with her service-based business!
I love the crew at Dogtopia East Side. Aside from coming home with tired dogs, they provide an incredible amount of patience and understanding whenever one of them (we have 3) is having a tough day. Being new to the area and not living around family, I truly depend on their team to take care of my pack and never worry when the dogs are in their care. Thank you for everything!
They have an awesome daycare, we are retired and don’t need to send our dog penny to daycare, but we do because she enjoys it and comes home exhausted
We did a meet and greet last week. It's a nice location. They have 3 rooms for the dogs...I like that there is an assessment prior to the same. It's all indoor. I appreciated that those working there appear to like their jobs and care about the dogs. We will be looking to do daycare, mild spa services and possibly boarding in the future. They answered all of our questions at the meet and greet and the tour was nice. They service a lot of pets and we appreciate that there are cameras that cover most of the spaces - there are some blinds spots. I like that they have a themed calendar for the month with events. Our 11month old pup did about 4 hours and she slept nearly the entire next day.
We visited Dogtopia last week with our pup Gamora for daycare during an out of town vacation and we had an amazing experience! While we were planning prior to the trip, they were incredibly accommodating and helped set up the day Gamora would do a meet and greet for this location. Once there, everyone was so kind! I love how much they care about all of the dogs here! Safety (and fun) is definitely top priority. We felt very comfortable leaving Gamora for daycare, we even got May the 4th Star Wars pics of her!! This Dogtopia is one of the best we’ve gone to and we will definitely be back in the future during more visits to MKE!
The staff at Dogtopia east side has been amazing. I had some confusion with billing and they cleared it up right away and were really patient! My mini dachshund loves it there and his tail wags when I mention “day care”. They have so many fun little events for dogs each week. One of my favorite, was puppy Picasso where they had dogs make a painting to take home. I also love the live stream camera so I can check in to make sure my little guy is behaving! Would absolutely recommend!
So far so good! I love that they have webcams so people can check in on their pets. The cameras lag more often than I like, but you can still get the idea of how it's going. Only times it seems questionable is when there are 20+ dogs in one space and 1 staff member - but they seem to act fast when dogs get overly excited. They have de-escalation training, which I’ve witnessed on the cameras. I like taking my dog in early morning so she can play with 6 or so dogs before the masses show up later and she stops wanting to play as much. I love their dog platforms so she can jump out of the way if she gets uncomfortable with the more exuberant dogs. One thing I noticed here though, is when my pup comes home her paw pads smell very badly like urine, so I have to wash her feet well with dog shampoo. I wish they would add more pee pads or "porch potties" for dogs to target to reduce random pee spots that sometimes can't get cleaned immediately. After trying another boarding place that emphasizes pet comfort in suites (SkyDance Pet Lodge), this place seems a little overpriced for mainly kennel sleeping accommodations - especially because you are also charged a half day on weekends by default. Also Sundays when I pick my pup up she pees herself, so I have a suspicion that she doesn’t get much time out of the kennel that day... That said, I tried Camp Bow Wow and considered it for boarding, but their “suites” are mainly like tall bathroom stalls in a big open noisy warehouse, with many play spaces active right there too. It made me appreciate Dogtopia more in that kennels feel familiar/normal to kennel-trained dogs, the individual rooms where they play and sleep are reasonably sized, and staff seem attentive overall - willing to intervene and seem to enjoy interacting with dogs. Of the two places I’ve taken my pup to with webcams, the dogs seem better behaved here since there are consistent repercussions for undesirable behavior (e.g., three strikes then timeout in kennel or being leashed and walked around to refocus).
We take our dog there regularly and love it! Staff is nice and professional. I only have good things to say about them.
I feel so fortunate to have found DOGTOPIA. The staff is highly skilled, warm and accommodating. As I stepped through the door I immediately felt comfortable in the atmosphere they’ve created. I feel great leaving my pup here and look forward to her becoming a part of their wonderful family. They care and it shows.
Dogtopia is the best! From the moment I walk in the door, my pup(Charlie) and I feel like we are part of the family! Charlie goes everyday and he loves it! When they try to get him to come home, he refuses to stop playing! I know Charlie is in great hands everyday and this brings me so much comfort! Every one at Dogtopia shows Charlie so much love!❤️❤️ Thank you for taking such great care of my boy!
Sending my dog Janet here has been one of the best choices that I’ve made since adopting her. The staff are wonderful! Janet is always so excited when we arrive and comes home tired and happy. Couldn’t recommend them more!!!
I’ve been bringing my dog here since I first got him, and have always left happy and with a super tired puppy! The staff works really well to make sure that he plays with dogs that are similar to him in the way that they play, and interact. …
Finnigan has been with PetU since he was an itty bitty puppy. He has great doggie friends and LOVES the staff almost as much as I do! They have great training classes and continually remind the dogs of their manners if needed. I've also …
Actual name is Ray. My pet lab Lucky came in for a four hour trial to see how he would do in Pet-U daycare. He's quite a busy fella. We have had him taken care of at another daycare with not so great results. The staff at Pet-U is obviously …
My recent experiences with Pet U Milwaukee has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I have been with them for over 2 years when there was a discrepancy with how many days were left on my package, and after a lot of digging showed this has also happened in the past. When I asked for a refund, their responses were unhelpful and contradictory, showing a complete inability to recognize their mistakes or take responsibility. Worse yet, they have legally questionable clauses in their contracts, allowing them to change terms without notifying or getting consent from customers. This is not only bad business practice but also unfair to customers especially in cases where value of services are changed. Despite multiple requests, they couldn't provide the terms and conditions I originally signed, making their claims about policy changes meaningless. On top of these issues, the quality of care for my dog Bjork was unacceptable. He came home dirty, with fecal matter stuck to his fur, showing a severe lack of attention and care. They even forgot to give him the lunch I sent with him. Pet U Milwaukee’s lack of accountability and poor service make it a place I would strongly advise against. They don't take good care of pets or treat their customers with respect. EDIT: As a response to the reply to the owner. I wasn't provided a my originally signed terms and conditions until after my review was posted. I have documented evidence of an email chain with an employee (Destiny Cheng) in which I requested my originally signed terms and conditions three separate times. It isn't until the customer takes public action that they deem it important enough to address my realistic request. Regarding the feces left on my dog, if readers believe it is acceptable for a dog to be sent home with feces matted in their fur, that is their own judgment to make. Additionally, we paid additional fees for both training sessions and special handling, so we do not believe you went above and beyond.
PetU took great care of my pup while we were out of town. Daily photos on Facebook reassured me she was in good hands. I also appreciated phone calls when there was a question or concern. Since this location is very close to the airport, we were able to pick her up on our way home. She even received a complimentary bath before we picked her up!
We have been using PetU for three years now, starting with puppy classes and moving to daycare and boarding. Our pup comes home tired from a long day of play and is always excited when we drop him off. Staff is great and takes good care of our pup.
Had a such a wonderful puppy training experience with our golden retriever that we went back for intermediate training. Both sessions were exactly what we needed to help our dog develop into a well behaved family dog, while having lots of fun together in the process. The classes struck a good balance between reward/praise and discipline and our golden responded so positively to it, the results have been amazing. Our dog also loved it, she always got SO excited when we would leave for class. Overall it was a great experience for all of us!
We enrolled our 3 year old rescue in the 5 week introduction to obedience course. It could not have gone better. The trainer was very attentive and adept at conveying the tools that we, as pet owners, needed in order to successfully train our dog. In the course, we were able to learn how to train our dog to sit, lie down, stay, come, and perform well on a leash. He was eager and willing to answer any and all questions. And now at the end of the course our dog is able to perform these skills. We could not be happier. Of course, the training never really stops. With these tools, we will continue working with our pup. To our enjoyment, and to our dog's betterment.
When searching for pet day care I was very picky some would say crazy. My dog has severe anxiety and IBD(which can flare up at any time causing him lots of health issues). So when I went to Pet U I first met with the owner who gave me a tour and listened to all my concerns. She reassured me they could take this on. Well they have and exceeded in great care for Brutus. They have worked with Brutus, me and my specialist in seeing that this is a peaceful and happy thing for Brutus. It took him a few weeks of them giving him space and using great patience with him and they are bringing him out of his shell. He is enjoying it there and I feel comfortable leaving him there. They work as a team with you and are not pushy or overwhelming. They even work with the crazy schedule my specialist came up with to help Brutus transition into daycare. Thank you so much to all the staff at Pet U. Phot of Brutus at daycare!
My grandparents and I have our fox red lab in training here. Pat, the trainer, is very friendly and helpful. Gunner - the puppy - has gotten so much better in the past few weeks with weekly training session. He is now much more attentive to us, walks very nicely on a leash, does "down", and we are currently working on "stay" which is already starting to come along after just the first time doing it in class. Pat is very helpful and gives you helpful criticism which works wonderfully. He explains everything so that you understand why you are doing something instead of just telling you what to do. I highly recommend PetU if you are looking to get your dog well-trained at a quality place. We haven't used their other services, but everything seems wonderful and the employees are very friendly. We love it!
A great establishment for daycare & boarding services. The staff are so genuine, kind & caring! They really do enjoy working with the dogs, making sure the dogs have fun, and creating a relationship with them. Definitely recommend bringing your pup here!! 😊 …
Our dog Ozzie hates grooming to the point that he gets very stressed and will bite. We heard good things about Jordyn and gave it a try. She is AMAZING!!! She has a way to keep our dog calm. Yes, for now we still give him a chill pill …

Marina is such an experienced pet caregiver. She took time to get to know him before I left town. She followed his daily regimen perfectly and sent pictures and videos along the way. I will always trust her with my fur baby!
