From the photos on this listing, we were clearly drawn to the tranquil location. Then we saw the pets!!

As sitters who love rural locations, this does not disappoint. The beautiful home sits in the heart of a small village perched on the edge of Exmoor, surrounded by peace and tranquility.

Georgie and Alex have the most wonderful home and are such gracious hosts, inviting our family to unwind a couple of days before they left, taking us to one of their favourite spots for a sea dip at nearby Porlock Weir, and cooking us a delicious dinner for our arrival.

We instantly felt at ease in their company and found so much to talk about while they showed us around their home and land, bringing us up to speed with the routines, and taking in a lovely walk from their property.

The two dogs, Kali and Mamba are not only healthy and beautiful, but energetic and chilled out when they need to be, striking the perfect balance for adventures and cuddles alike. Merlin the cat has to be one of the striking personalities we've come across, for an older cat he's fit and healthy, enjoying cuddles and particularly getting involved in the family board games which we found so entertaining!

The house itself is beautiful, lots of character, very comfortable beds and lovely decor. Lots of windows let in a lot of light and the views from the rear of the house will take your breath away.
The kitchen is fully equipped, a food lover's dream, and the gardens and polytunnel were bearing all sorts of goodies which we enjoyed, plums and blackberries for a delicious crumble and tomatoes, courgettes and even melons growing in the tunnel.

The chickens were all very happy girls and layed delicious eggs daily. The children spent hours in their enclosure, we helped them find food by turning over the soil with forks, spades and trowels so they had some enrichment from the once hard soil.

We had such a positive experience here, long walks on Exmoor with Mamba (Kali was in season so had to exercise at home during our stay), we barely strayed from the home, no reason to go looking for beautiful places to visit when we had this lovely home and pets to encounter.

There's something very special about the home Georgie and Alex have made, if our itineraries collide again we would be delighted to return again and again.

Joe and Alexa were fantastic hosts with great communication both before and during the sit. Their flat was welcoming and very comfortable, in a great location on the high street and close to the underground. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the parks in Wanstead and exploring London.
Barney is a wonderful cat. He was nervous at first (very sweet watching a big cat trying to hide under a blanket!) and took a while to warm up to us, however by the end of the sit we were the best of friends and having great fun playing and cuddling with Barney.
We miss Barney already and would sit again in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful two days with Pandora a Christine’s place! Christine communicated her expectations clearly, and she set us up for success taking care of her kitten. Pandora is the sweetest cat! She’s full of energy and very playful. When she wakes up from her long naps, she loves good cuddles. We would highly recommend staying here!
