Lisa is such a sweet person, totally organized, and a true animal lover. Her house is adorable and only a short walk to the beach. There are numerous restaurants and bars nearby. The pets were so easy especially with prepackaged meals for the dog and chickens. The cats found my lap once they were comfortable with me. Bella, the black lab is elderly and has lower mobility so happy just frolicking in the spacious backyard. The chickens were super easy and Lisa sent us home with a dozen fresh eggs. I highly recommend this sit. Thanks again, Lisa. We had a great time.
What a wonderful place to sit! The house and garden are beautiful and surrounded by Barley Fields. Ian and Maxine were very welcoming and we enjoyed meeting them and spending time with them both. I loved Maxine's words when she said: "It is home for you, away from home." It truly turned out to be exactly what she said and it felt very welcomed and grateful. All communication before, during and after the sit was great! We were presented with a detailed welcoming pack and I knew exactly how Maxine wanted me to look after the house and how to care for Miss Tilly. We loved walking Miss Tilly and throwing balls for her to catch. She is sweet natured, very lively and loved her cuddles and enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed her. Miss Tilly is well trained and her obedience when I called her back to me, made it a delight for me to walk her. This house sit is perfect for somebody who loves the outdoors and quiet rural areas. We can highly recommend to house sit for Ian and Maxine and Miss Tilly if you have the chance.
Loved sitting for Cash. Her pets are really wonderful critters. Spotty the heeler was a very direct communicator and very attuned. We spooned at night and I was often in a pet sandwich but slept great! Grover the doodle is a goof and just wants to play and be loved. All of us really enjoyed the yard and the incredible sunrise views of the Sangre de Cristos. Benny T the cat has sweetest little voice and loves to lie on your chest. All in all we enjoyed each other fully so if you like spending time with loving animals this is your kind of sit.
We enjoyed our short stay at Martina's in Great Village! Mango and Pinot are so friendly and cute—they are very easy-going and people-loving. Giving Pinot his inhaler was no problem; he was very relaxed and responded well to treats. Mango in her golden years spent days snoozing, with short breaks for treats and petting, plus occasional swim in a nearby river. Martina was very kind and hospitable; she invited us to stay a few extra days at her home, where we enjoyed spending time together, getting to know about her many hobbies, and hearing about Newfoundland and her travels. She even took us paddleboarding and showed us around the area! There are lovely hikes, lake for swimming, scenic beach, and a great grocery store within short drive. Martina described her home as "lived-in", and we found it to be quite cozy and comfortable. She has a lovely yard and impressive garden as well, with all kinds of veggies and beautiful flowers. It was a great experience to sit for Martina, and we would recommend this sit especially for people who like peaceful locations, gardening, and older pets. Thank you, Martina!
Andrea has an incredibly lovely home. She is very kind and communicated well with me during my sit. I could reach out to her at any time with any concern. The kittens were a joy to look after! A very nice experience.
Stuart was an excellent host who made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay before leaving. Bobby, his newly acquired rescue Cairns terrier is a dear little chap whose company was a pleasure. Stuart's home is cosy and warm, in a lovely quiet location with views over the South Downs. I highly recommend this housesit and hope I'll be able to return before too long. A very definite 5 stars, well deserved.
