Vanessa and Siim are a delightful couple who took really good care of my elderly cat, Saki. They were careful to follow the instructions I left re-feeding and medications and even managed to clean some sore spots on her face and body she'd developed just before I left (not easy). They sent daily updates while I was away, so I was reassured Saki was doing well, and they left my home clean and tidy. I would be more than happy for them to sit for Saki again and would definitely recommend them to others.
I arrived here after a long car journey to a wonderful friendly greeting from MaryAnn, the bifold doors were open to the evening sunshine in the courtyard and within a few minutes I felt rested and in paradise. This is a very special house to stay in, the barn and area I slept in is linked to the main house but completely private, the wonderful bed and private bathroom felt very luxurious, and I had some very deep sleeps in this bedroom with Lula by my side in her basket. Mary Ann had picked some flowers from her garden and made beautiful arrangements and even left me a birthday gift and card. Mary Ann was so welcoming, after a quick tour we sat down to a surprise dinner and it felt as if we had known each other for quite some time. Mary Ann was very clear in her handover, and I knew these would be special, trouble free days in her home. Lula is the most affectionate little dog, who is deaf so likes to keep you in her sight. I loved sitting in the garden with her, and in the chair by the window looking at the sky and fields beyond. There is a little stone circle 15 mins walk up the hill and we went there religiously in sunshine or rain every evening. Lula loves the beach, and likes to paddle, she actually got very excited to see the sand, and is simply a joyful little dog to spend time with. She is now in her elder years so doesn’t like to walk too far, Mary Ann assured me that I could easily leave her , but I preferred to do things within her reach. She is good in a car, and fine sitting with you in a cafe, and the local town of St Just is very dog friendly. My best moments were in the house though, greeting the friendly cows arriving for their early morning feed at the other side of the garden fence, or listening to the deep silence. Communication was perfect whilst Mary Ann was away, I enjoyed sending messages and pictures and telling her how much I was enjoying my stay. When the time came for me to leave, her daughter arrived exactly on time to the second to take over, I had another sit to get to and was relieved to head off in time. Thank you Mary Ann, I hope I can sit for Lula again, anyone lucky enough to have this opportunity, jump at it ! Sophia
Alison and Dennis are a lovely couple, the house is nice, near the hills for walking and easy access to the town. We looked after four cats which were no bother as they do their own thing most of the time. We will be going back again in February and would recommend this sit to others.
Amber and Eliza were an absolute pleasure to deal with - they were excellent communicators before the house sit, ensuring we had all the information we needed and they met us on arrival and showed us all in the in and outs to make sure our pet sit was as easy and as comfortable as possible. We only had to pet sit Poppy (10 year old Whippet) on this occassion - the most beautiful and gorgeous whippet you could ever wish to meet. She is such a gentle soul, we spent evenings sitting on the couch rubbing her soft silky ears and days on the couch, in the beautiful backyard soaking up the sun rays together - Poppy was like a best mate within a few hours of meeting us. She loved her morning walks and then her ball chasing session in the back yard whilst we enjoyed a coffee. We spent hours laughing with her and also at her funny antics. At night she was like a hot water bottle - warm and all curled up next to you - she loves a good snooze. We loved the location of Amber and Elizas home - even though we had a car, we regularly walked into town and along the estuary and also being close to the university we got to explore the museum - which we both loved. The house was warm and cozy and had everything for a comfortable stay. We both miss Poppy, those gorgeous eyes that made our hearts melt and hope one day we will be able to pet sit her again. Thank you girls.
Alfie is a lovely old chap, very obedient and gentle. We really enjoyed our walks (as we plod at about the same speed!). The house was very comfortable, clean, warm and relaxing. The area is quiet but only ten minutes walk from amenities and the town centre. Stef and Harm were very hospitable with excellent communications on the house and dear Alfie’s needs. I would recommend this sit to anyone who wishes to spend time relaxing in a lovely part of Kent with a gorgeous old dog for company. I hope to return again when my diary allows.
Pet-sitting for Hayley and Dom was an absolute pleasure. They're flat is lovely and was left really clean! Jonathan Babbit and Clove are a real joy to be around, they both have such sweet natures so we managed to really bond with them even though only there for 2 nights. Hayley and Dom are both super friendly and were great at communicating and answering any questions we had! We would happily sit for them again, and would recommend this to anyone looking to spend some time in Wimbledon (which is a lovely area and well connected to central London), with adorable company.
Brittany and Lila were great! Lila does have separation anxiety and does howl when you leave the house which happened a couple of times when I’d run to the groceries shop but she’s easy to look after! There is a park near by she gets walked at a couple/ few times a day and for the most part it was okay until the last evening when this guy at the park that was throwing things at people kept speed walking towards me and Lila when it was just me and Lila in a certain part of the park luckily Brittany’s friend gave us a ride home because we had to “dodge” that crazy guy at least 6-8 times which made me feel unsafe, being from California cities myself I know they aren’t known for feeling safe but especially since Lila’s first walk is pretty early it stopped feeling safe to go there just with Lila :/ aside from that park which is a daily part of Lila’s routine everything else went okay!
