I absolutely adored these dogs! They are the most gentle, sweet, cuddly creatures and the most wonderful company. Rufus and Dudley are giant teddy bears and little Dot is the baby of the house, and wants little more than just to cuddle and snore away next to you. We loved waking up every morning to their wagging tails and big brown eyes and it was very sad to say goodbye to them after 10 happy days together. This was a wonderful housesit. Cathy and Damon are great fun and super organised. Cathy gave us very clear notes and instructions and was very communicative. We really enjoyed meeting them and they treated us to a nice dinner before they left for their holiday. The house was gloriously peaceful and quiet and we fell asleep to the sounds of owls hooting at night. We had a wonderful time here - thank you so much Cathy and Damon!
Sitting for Erin and Patrick's adorable cats was so fun, they are very calm and lovable and usually willing to be picked up and to play! The house is beautiful, very spacious and warming, they have a delightful selection of vinils and an amazing kitchen! The neighbourhood is charming and so close to the dock, the kids definetly had a blast in our stay and so did we!
Great sit! I enjoyed taking care of Presley, she is such a friendly and affectionate cat! Beth's home is lovely, clean, peaceful. Beth is very pleasant, communicates well and took the time to detail everything well in the Welcome Guide. We had a great convo on the phone beforehand, and communicated regularly during. I would definitely pet-sit Presley for Beth again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Cash; he is a very sweet old boy. The house is stunning and clearly built with love. Everything was as expected, and communication before and during the stay was effortless. It's located in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Anyone would be fortunate to house-sit here.
We had an amazing time looking after Leia over the Christmas holidays. She is such a sweetheart and really good company! Lara and Bryce were great hosts, available for any question we might have. Their appartment was very comfortable and with all ameneties you could need, and in a great location, close to the CBD.
Sean's house is in a great location. Lots of opportunities to get outside right at his house. Penny is a sweetheart. She is an enthusiastic and curious youngster. She chilled out at night and barely barked the whole time I was there.

Whitney is AMAZING! She went above and beyond for us the first time we worked with her. We had just rescued a 3rd dog about a month prior and we thought that he would be okay with us being gone for a weekend while she watched them and he destroyed the house🤦🏼♀️ Whitney cleaned up some messes for us which was not something she needed to do however she did it any ways! Whenever we go out of town she will be the first person we reach out to!!
We hired Whitney for 5 days while we went on vacation, and she did not disappoint! She was very responsive, and we loved having pics and updates of our pets from her. It was such a relief to not have to worry about our cats and dogs back at home because she took care of everything! We are THANKFUL for Elk Grove Pet Care. We were away for TWELVE days, which is hard to do. The last time we were away this long out pet/house sitter BAILED on us mid trip. We scrambled while internationally away to find a sub. It was awful. Our husky was unfortunately ignored and it was sad to see on camera. Our fur babies love them. We used to board but we couldn't anymore with our new addition. Our high anxiety girl does not let anyone touch her but us four. They were patient with her and she LOVES them, let's them pet her, and even JUMPING in Whitney (owners) lap! This is so huge for our girl. BIG socialization step for her!! They take the best care and we are at peace when we're away. I cannot be more happy with the reliability and caring passion they have.

I’ve used Elk Grove Pet Care multiple times for the care of my two dogs and have great experiences. Whitney has taken wonderful care of dogs who range from high anxiety old weiner dog to high energy golden retriever puppy. I trust her in my home and with the care of my dogs and have had no issues.
Elizabeth has been our dog walker/pet sitter since 2023. Our dog, Charlie, needs 3 walks a day and Elizabeth takes good care of him. He gets exercise and enjoys time in her company. She is also great when our fire alarms went off in our house during our last trip. She disarmed them and sent pictures. We were happy she was able to take care of the problem. She is a great communicator and I highly recommend her to those who want to leave their animal with a responsible and caring pet sitter!

Elizabeth has been watching our first rescue dog Nico since we got him in 2021, and now our latest addition, Vinny. As with a lot of rescues, ours had some social/ behavioral issues in the beginning, but Elizabeth is an expert. She knows how to work with and around those issues and also make recommendations. The controlled socialization our dogs get when staying overnight with Elizabeth have been immensely helpful to their training. They come home pooped and happy from all the playing! She also offers reasonable pricing and flexible scheduling. If you’re in the Davis area, highly recommend giving Elizabeth a call.
Elizabeth is awesome, she takes wonderful care of our Jack Russell mix and border collie mix. They always come home happy and smiling and well cared for. She sends lots of pictures to keep us updated and we are really grateful for her skill with the dogs. Our border collie is on medication which Elizabeth skillfully administers and doesn’t always get along with other dogs in our experience, but Elizabeth is so good with her. She always comes home better trained and socialized then we left her :-)
We’ve relied on Elizabeth for years to take care of our pets and house while away. Guinea pigs, fish, dog - she does it all and keeps an eye on the house. We’ve used her for weekends to over a month. Elizabeth loves our dogs and cats like they're her own and they are always excited to see her! She sends pictures from the dog park and when she sits the cats she often spends time hanging out with them beyond a standard visit. She was very patient with out dog who is not great with new people and going to dog group with Elizabeth has been great for her self confidence.

Karla’s Pet Care does such a fantastic job! Our pets were frankly a nightmare while we were gone, the cat refused the litter box, the dog kept getting in the pantry and gave herself diarrhea. On top of that we had to keep changing our schedule and they rolled with all of it. They did a great job of keeping us informed while not stressing me out about my pets while I was on vacation. 10/10 highly recommend!
I loved this!! I'm always nervous about people being in my house when I'm not there but after the pre-visit my nerves were put to ease. Karla and Kayla are so nice and professional. Kayla is the one that took care of my fur babies when I was gone. She kept me updated with detailed daily check ins and pictures of them. I loved it and it made me feel so good that they were in great care. On top of all that she brought in my mail and took my garbage cans to the curb! It made a HUGE difference coming home late from a long trip and and not having to clean up cat litter, clean cat barf, or take the cans out etc. Thank you ladies for everything!!!

March 2021 update- Karla and her team continue to provide wonderful care. We started their new poop pickup service and it has been so helpful and convenient. Joe goes above and beyond and has communicated with us actively to address any concerns. I highly recommend! Karla and her team have been caring for our pets whenever we go out of town for over a year. They are easy to work with, friendly, and affordable. My favorite part is receiving an update and pictures of our pups each day during their care, so fun and comforting!

Was assured by owner that staff would respect and secure my home and they did not. Front door was left unlocked while walker was out with my dog and back door left unlocked and open when they left. Staff also forced my fearful dog into a harness before earning their trust, sent me a report photo of her looking extremely uncomfortable in my kitchen. I let them go after four days and would not recommend them to anyone
I have trusted the care of my furry friends to Janet and her team for 16 years now. They have been through a lot with me and my cat crew - saying hello to new furry faces and some goodbyes too. I realize as I begin to think about traveling again, that using Janet and Lucky Buddy to take care of Finn while I am away is critical to me feeling comfortable. When it comes to the pets who depend on me, I have a hard time assuming that "no news is good news", so I really love the daily photos and updates. The staff is really proactive about the pet's comfort, and I know I could count on Janet to do anything needed. That's really important to me when I am out of town and sometimes very far away.
I’ve been having Janet and her team care for my sweet dog Diamond for years. I enjoy the updates they give me via email each time they visit her and I’m away, along with a sweet photo of my dog. I can tell they are people who truly care for animals and I like when they bring attention to any concerns they’ve noticed with her. They have always been accommodating to the schedule that I have and I truly appreciate them.

Janet and her team are really in love with animals. I’ve petsat for friends and colleagues and the overall vibe from this small group of dedicated part-timers is an appreciation of your home and your animals’ comfort in it. Took our Golden to the splash pad night. They had the nicest facility!! So much room for the dogs to run around in, very clean and no broken toys/furniture. My golden had so much fun and I will definitely be signing her up for a day care session.
Great place to take your dog for day care or swim fun. I've taken my bullmastiff to day care and open swim. She lived both and came home tired and happy. Bit expensive buy you're paying for good care of your dog. I really appreciate that they screen your pet and have separation of different temperaments. Open swim in wknds is great and pretty cheap at $10 per dog. I highly recommend and will be back often. They have boarding service too, but I've never used it.
We rented the pool with some dog park friends and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and the pool was ready to have our pack of dogs rage. Some seating provided, bring a towel for yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked because the dogs will shake all over you!

I took my dog, Huffy, to the Animal Den for their open swim. She had a blast! All the doggies loved the pool and I got to enjoy some wine while she played. It was a win all around! My only gripe is the admission fee is $10. The fee is reasonable but it does keep us from going as frequently as we would like!
My dog has been going here for daycare 4 days a week for the last year and is so happy and excited whenever we arrive. Previous places we went for daycare I could see him on camera just sitting by the gate wanting to leave, and he was never eager to walk through the door. I think the staff here have gotten to know him and what makes him happy to be there so he feels much more comfortable. They also do cute holiday activities and dogs of the week which are adorable extra touches. Overall it’s been a great experience!
Such nice and caring individuals! They can accommodate almost anything! Very patient and compassionate for not only the fur babies but the fur parents as well! As for my Meeko he is having the time of his life for his first time. He is literally smiling. Great decision to board him here. I would high recommend this place!

One of the only places we trust to leave our slightly reactive dog. It is a bit out of the way for us, but the peace of mind that she will come back exactly as we left her is worth it. She is well taken care of. The photos are a nice bonus

I waited a while and now our dogs have had multiple stays here. Basically, it's wonderful! I've been on three surprise tours and they've all been great! My timid dog has gotten more and more comfortable and happy to get there. We did a few warm up days with him and then overnights before a long trip. My outgoing dog has always just loved it! I love the people there, they always do their very best to help me, 100% of the time. Also, several times I've been there people have insisted on leaving additional tips because they are so grateful to have their dog well taken care of... which I completely understand. Thank you!!!
I recommend Happy Paws Kennels for your fur baby or babies :) The process to check in for boarding was really easy and quick. Plus, they have a new office located beyond the gates, which is always nice because you'll have a chance to see the other happy dogs that are boarded there. They were also very communicative and made it easy for bookings. They also gave me complimentary baths at the end of their stay, which was very nice! One feedback that I would add is that I wish they would send pictures of the dogs as a compliment to the stay. A suggestion for Happy Paws is to provide the options for clients to choose the option of receiving pictures and updates during the stay. I think that will really enhance and add value to the experience. Overall, the experience was great, and my dogs seemed happy.
Boarded my dog here for 2 nights, and it was a very good experience! Friendly, experienced staff. This is a very clean facility and the dogs get plenty of excercise(weather permitting)!
Where to begin…I dropped my dogs off yesterday and my truck decided to just die right then and there. The team was SO fantastic and helpful trying to get it up and going. Above and beyond thoughtfulness. I can’t thank them all enough for the help and genuine concern. Getting to what their business actually offers — Our dogs LOVE it here - we are new to the area so have only done day visits so far, but I am sleeping well at night knowing they are here while I’m away for the first time. Ashleys is excellent. All three cats receive individual attention and any accidents or medications are professionally and politely dealt with. The on-line appointment and payment system is convenient and easy to use. Out pets are very well cared for while we are away!
I'm a veterinarian who has been using Ashley's pet sitting services consistently for at least five years. She and her team are so reliable! Once when I was traveling in 2018, my house was broken into, and thankfully the dogs were not let out by the burglars. Ashley and her team handled communication beautifully, as well as coordinating with my landlord and the police. I could not have felt more assured from afar that my pets (and my house) were being looked after appropriately. I trust Ashley's Pawsome Pet sitting and am so grateful for their attentive care to my beloved dogs Cali and Bijou. I still travel several times a year and use their services every time.
Amazing service! We were traveling for a week, and Ashleys Pawsome Pet Sitting took great care of our 2 cats. Cassidy was great, we received daily pictures of our kitties, and we could tell they really liked her. I’m definitely using them again!
My husband booked a second honeymoon in Cancun and I was anxious. I didn't know what we were going to do about care for our baby, Scarlett. A coworker recommended Ashley's Pawsome Pets and we are so thankful. They are bonded and they are background checked. We had a meet and greet with our sitter. Which I appreciated so much. Our sitter, Amanda, was absolutely wonderful. She came twice a day and was so attentive to Scarlett. I couldn't have asked for better! She is amazing! My favorite thing is they have a journal with pictures so you know everything that happens with your fur baby. My only con would be the extra fees that aren't 100% transparent. The service is pricey, (but worth it), however, when I went to pay the bill, there was an added fee for administration and then again for credit cards (which I use for security.,) I'm willing to pay whatever is needed for the care of my pet, but it was a tad surprising. Thar said, they are amazing snd we love Amsnda! We will be using them again in the future! The service is outstanding!! The attached pictures are from Amanda's very detailed journals!
We have used Ashley's Pawsome Pet sitting for every single vacation we've taken the past year and greatly appreciate the services of her staff. As someone prone to worrying, the pet journals and photos her sitters take and send daily are wonderful. While I have only had two different sitters, they are always kind, professional, and follow instructions well. I feel like my cat is in good hands when I hire a pet sitter through her.
We have left two different dogs in Ashley's care. Each time, we had so much confidence about how they were faring while we were traveling (in large part because Ashley sends pictures showing how comfortable and happy they are in her home; she sends sweet messages, too). Every aspect of the visit went exactly as planned; her website is easy to use and very informative. All in all, a very professional transaction with a very loving caregiver.
Our 2 black kitties are our pride and joy and we hate to leave them but now, in our retirement years, we are finally able to travel. After asking neighbors to feed our kitties, we tried Ashleys Pawsome and are VERY happy! We can schedule half-hour or longer sessions which include feeding, catbox cleaning and playing with our furry kids. Maybe better are the timely and thorough 'journal reports' we receive after each visit! We're told hew our pets are, and what services were rendered. Let the vacations continue!
Ashley was wonderful with our 3 dogs and cat for the two days we were away. She sent me pics of all of them each time she visited them during the day and I can say, they looked really happy! We've never left them before, so this was a fantastic experience for us, but mainly our dogs enjoyed her so much as well! Will for sure use your services in the future.

My big boy Bengal, Dezi had a great time here. The facility was very nice and clean too. He got his own two room suite! The staff made him feel safe and loved and he wasn’t stressed when I picked him up. This was his first time away from home and I wasn’t sure how it would go. He will be coming back to visit again.
I have used Best Friends since 2002. All of my dogs have done great and I had a dog with some “issues” and she was handled well. There were never any problems after their visit at the “spa” as we referred to it. My two small dogs just returned from their spa visit and Max was on medication and he did great and our Gracie was happy too. Highly recommend!! 🐾🐾

We brought our Golden, Lola, here for the first time for a full grooming experience. She is terrified of loud noises--the girl who met us at check-in was extremely gentle with our dog, calming, and got her to settle down. We knew immediately that Lola was in good hands. First time with Best Friends over the Christmas holiday. She was pretty excited to go with the staff and seemed great when we picked up. We had a long delay on our return train ride and the staff was very understanding. I felt very comfortable with her accommodations and would definitely use them again next time we travel.
Best Friends pet boarding, daycare in Carmichael. The staff here is awesom! My Pebbles and BamBam really enjoy their overnight stays! They get lots of attention, treats and best of all have piece of mind knowing the loving care they are getting! Highly recommend boarding and Doggy day camp!

River dogs resort is absolutely amazing! I am a bit overly protective of my dog and I never hesitate to leave him at River dogs resort. He can tell when we’re pulling into their driveway and is immediately excited. He gets to play with lots of friendly dogs all day and I never have to worry about how he is doing. The owner, Dina, is a true dog lover and treats all the dogs as if they are her own. She is flexible and always looking out for what will be best for your dog. My dog is an 85 pound German shepherd mix who has lots of energy and he always comes home happy and tired. You should look no further if you want a place your doggo will love.

River Dogs is a home-away-from-home for our 2-year-old Golden Retriever, Emma. She is always in a good mood after we pick her up. The owner, Dina, is very good at communication and sends photos during Emma’s stays, which are always appreciated. I would recommend highly recommend boarding your dog here.

River Dogs is the best! our dog loves it there and the owner is so nice and helpful and loves dogs! our flight was canceled at Christmas and rescheduled for days later after we had already dropped our dog off. River Dogs extended our kennel time so we could spend longer with family and took such good care of her. so helpful and understanding!!!!! will always go there!!!

Yep, a 5 star review for Dina and River Dog Resort! We needed a last minute fun and safe spot for our 12 yo American Foxhound and were so happy Dina had an opening for Chuck. Shortly after arriving, Chuck was adventurous and tried to escape by scaling a fence but Dina did not let that affect her ability to provide safe and loving care for his stay. Upon our return she told us what happened and figured out solutions for his next stay communicating in a professional, caring and understanding way. We are impressed and highly recommend RDR!
Our boxer Abbey LOVES going to see Miss Dina every week! Abbey always has such a fun time playing with her dog buddies. We also board our dog here a few times a year and always know she will be very well taken care of. River Dogs Resort is such a great location and we will never go anywhere else!
Dina and her staff have been taking care of our two large dogs for about 5 years now! They were always responsive and easy to do pick ups and drop offs. The pups were always well cared for, happy to go(could not wait to get taken back to play!!), and exhausted when we picked them up! We were very sad to move away because it was such a wonderful gift to have found such a caring place for our fur-babies! I recommend them without any hesitation!!!
We have always been a let's-find-a-house-sitter type family. We were in a pinch and River Dogs came to the rescue! We have ditched a house sitter completely now, as our rambunctious golden puppy loves to wrestle and play in their large yard while our small dog hangs out, snuggles and shares kisses with Dina. We highly recommend giving River Dogs a whirl!
Camp bow wow is the absolute best. We have been boarding our dog Winston here for extended stays for about 2 years… and every visit I feel more comfortable with the care I know he will receive. The staff is always so excited to see him when he checks in and share the cutest stories about his behavior during his stay. The facility is clean, they accommodate special feeding requests, the dogs are all so friendly, and you can even check in on your pup via the app cams. It can be so hard leaving your pup for trips but there are no better hands to leave them in than Camp Bow Wow Elk Grove!

After my third visit to this facility I am convinced that this is the place for my pup! The staff has been nothing but amazing and I feel my pup is well cared for and safe when in their care. As a graduate student at CSUS, I am constantly stressed for time. This place, and these folks provide my family and I a reliable, safe, and much needed space as we navigate the complexities of modern US life. Check them out!

I scheduled my high energy 1.5 year old Labrador pup, MAC, for his first interview this past Monday and I have to say that my husband and I had a great experience with the staff that day. From check in to check out, the staff was friendly. Miko (spelling?) was the one who greeted us when we checked in, he took Mac for his assessment and then came out to let us know our boy fit right in and he was welcome to stay for the day. We watched the live cams throughout the day and saw our pup running around and playing with a ton of other dogs, which is what we wanted. It's great to be able to leave him somewhere to run off his pup energy in a safe environment. When I picked Mac up, another male staff member greeted me and let me know Mac did great. I know it's only been one day but we definitely will be using their daycare services soon, possibly even boarding and grooming. Thank you Camp Bow Wow EG!
We had a great experience at Elkgrove Bow wow. Our pup stayed 10 days. They gave our dog her medication and gave her a bath. I called midway into our trip to check in and they were very descriptive to put me at ease. Love Camp Bow Wow.First pup started coming here in 2015 and we have continued with our new family member 2023. Highly recommend them.
The staff is great. They are truly pet people, and our dogs love there. We have recommended them to friends, who are now using them for boarding.

Chelsea has been incredible with our kitties, birds and fish. She is responsible, skilled, responsive and her rates are extremely reasonable! She is our go-to pet sitter and we hope to continue using her services for the foreseeable future!
Chelsea is amazing!! Due to no fault of her own her listing was removed by Google, along with all of her 5-star reviews over 15 years of business, so I am re-posting for her here. Chelsea knows everything there is to know about dogs. She’s been a trainer, a vet tech and more. She’s truly passionate about animals, especially dogs, and it shows. When your pet stays with Chelsea she treats it like her own. She’s been helping watch and train my Boxer Blu since we got him as a puppy. He’s aggressive around other dogs with me but not with Chelsea — he’s perfectly behaved because she knows dogs personalities and what to watch for. She’s not only watched him when we were out of town (sending pictures of him playing with other dogs, water play on hot days, sleeping on her bed with her dogs), but she’s offered me training and veterinary tips for free! His excitement when we see her says it all — I love not having to worry when we’re out of town because he’s in the best care. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chelsea for anyone who wants quiet care for their pet. It’s definitely worth the drive to her place.
