What an amazing housesit! We really enjoyed staying with the Aristogatos! The place is just off Reforma and very close to the Hamburgo Metrobus stop, so really well connnected, and walking distance from most stuff. The flat is lovely and really quiet and peaceful. The cats are all so different - Claudio and Juan will be all over you from the start, Fideo takes time to warm up but this is perhaps the most affectionate of all. Juan likes to lie on your lap when he gets the chance. We miss them already! Fue un placer de conocerte Magdalena. Gracias por la experiencia!
Thx for this amazing stay, it was a pleasure to be there and helped you out! I was by my own and managed everything, communication and expectations were like descripted!
I had the absolute pleasure of house-sitting for Jacalyn and her adorable pet, Omi. Jacalyn's warm welcome included a thorough house tour, making me feel right at home. Our pre-sit FaceTime chat was invaluable, helping me become familiar with Omi's routine. Omi instantly won my heart. She's well-behaved, and playing fetch with her stuffed gator was a lot of fun. Her fondness for treats and occasional curiosity-driven approach to strangers during walks became a delightful adventure. A pro tip: carrying treats while on a walk is a handy trick for distraction. The house's proximity to the beach and essentials added to the delightful experience. What truly stood out was Jacalyn's consistent communication and evident joy upon receiving pictures of Omi throughout the sit – it added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. Omi's constant companionship and couch cuddles made every moment special. Without a doubt, this was a heartwarming and enjoyable house-sit. Taking care of Omi was an absolute delight!
Best FIRST house/pet sit on TH that we could have asked for! Many thanks to Trish and family for taking the chance on us and gifting us our first sit on this platform. Their home is beautiful, warm, welcoming, clutter-free and oh so clean. We greatly appreciated the welcome treats and a thorough and succinct summary of our responsibilities while caring for their fur family members and home. Kona is a Big Dog and even bigger Luv Bug, rolling onto her back at every chance to get belly rubs. Piper is oh so sweet, demure, presents a calm-balanced energy, and is happy being around all people. Lilly the cat felt us out for the first couple of days, but then became our BFF and never left the house or snuggling on our laps for the rest of the week. As an Animal Behaviorist, I was extremely impressed with both dogs’ socialization skills and training! After assessing their on-leash behavior on a couple of walks, we let them off leash on a trail. They stayed close by with verbal reinforcement, demonstrated checking-in behavior when we humans got a little bit behind them, and had excellent recall. Since the HO mentioned that Kona can be a tiny bit dog selective at times, I asked that she come close when we were passing by other dogs whose handlers had them on leash, out of respect, as one never knows if their dog is on leash for specific behavioral reasons of their own. After just a few minutes, Kona had already learned our expectations and anticipated to come beside us when she saw people approaching. Brilliant! Piper’s calm energy was obvious in all of her interactions with people and dogs on trails. Both dogs really enjoyed hanging out at restaurants with us and taking it all in. They are respective of space and do not beg for food. They follow your schedule and are not barkers. They adored attention and praise from us and are just happy to be with you. The view from several places in the home are spectacular because of the mountain ranges. Their home is a couple of mile drive to the Historic Main Street area where you will find many restaurants and microbreweries, outdoor patios with live music, and stores to meet all of your needs. Many of the outdoor patio spaces are dog-friendly and the girls do great as patio guests. The neighbors were friendly and helpful, repositioning the recycle bin when we set it a bit too close to the curb on pickup day, and sharing their story of their relocation to Durango. Another neighbor’s daughter even invited us to play with her and her mom in a game out front. Communication with the HO was great from first contact and throughout our stay. We felt welcomed and had everything we needed for our week-long stay. We would most definitely return to sit again and we will miss the companionship of Kona and Piper a lot, as they are perfect hiking and home buddies. They ride wonderfully in our SUV (Piper needed lifting up into the backseat especially after a long hike as she is a senior and gets a bit stiff, but Kona jumps on her own). We would take them all home if we could, and as a trainer and foster of hundreds of dogs over the years, this says a lot! Future sits on TH will have a lot to compete with after this memorable sit.
We did a one night sit for Nicola, looking after Poppy and Clover. They were really lovely dogs and very easy to care for. Both dogs greeted us on arrival by bringing us a toy and were immediately comfortable with us in their space. Walks were easy, Clover has an anti pull lead to stop her choking herself when she gets a bit over enthusiastic on walks and she is very still and calm while you put this on her. You can let her off lead in enclosed spaces and she adores playing fetch with a ball. Poppy is quite happy on walks occupying herself with sniffing. Communication with Nic and Ollie was easy and clear and they even left us some fizz and chocolate which was particularly lovely of them. The house is in a beautiful spot with countryside walks straight from the doorstep and everything was very comfortable. Highly recommended!
We spent the first evening with Anthony. He was super welcoming and friendly. Got instantly a 'feel like home'. Bertie was from beginning a lovely dog who just wanted to get cuddled. Park needed some time to get used to us. But on the next day he came to us on the couch to cuddle. Walking with them was a pleasure because they are well trained! If Anthony is searching for a sitter, don't hesitate to contact him!
