We totally LOVED this sit!! We had an absolutely wonderful week looking after Jackson & Josie for Jennifer & Michael. These two kitties were a treat to care for, each with their own unique personalities. Josie is independent, with a bit of sass, she loves to explore outside & yet is often found napping in a sunny chair in the backyard. At night she is keen to curl up on your bed, purr and receive lots of pets. Jackson also enjoys being outside but if we were home we found him nearby or napping on his favourite chair inside. He really loves to play, he has the best purr, he is happy to be picked up and loves a good scratch and chin rubs. Jennifer & Michael’s home was beautiful, spacious and beyond comfortable with every amenity you might need. They have a wonderful yard that looks out over a lake. We spent hours on their back patio watching the float planes take off & land, watching rowers go by, watching the hummingbirds or just reading a good book or watching the sunset. Their home is located in a great neighbourhood between Duncan & Maple Bay. We love this area as there is so much to see & do. You are a few kilometres from Maple Bay which is a great spot for kayaking, rowing, paddle boarding or walks on the beach. Mountain biking, Road Biking and Hiking trails are nearby & plentiful. If you enjoy wine tasting, good restaurants, farmers markets, local artisans & buying local this is the spot! Jennifer & Michael are more than happy to provide recommendations for any of these activities! Some of our favourites include the Duncan & Salt Spring Island Farmers Markets, Mountain Biking at Maple Mountain, Hiking the Stoney Hill Trail, Wine tasting at Averill Vineyard, dinner at Genoa Bay Cafe & the Masthead & baked treats at True Grain Bakery in Cowichan Bay. Communication with Jennifer & Micheal was excellent. We were fortunate to meet them both & their cats at their house prior to the sit. We found communication with them via email & text prior to and throughout the sit was easy. This has to be one of our favourite sits through Trusted Housesitters! We finished this sit feeling very relaxed & recharged! At the same time sad to say goodbye to these two kitties. We would highly recommend this sit and would be thrilled to return! Kirsten & Chris
Jill was great at communicating and super sweet to us! We had a great time with the pups, it was fun to go from initially not being able to tell them apart to see all their different personalities and little unique distinctions in their looks. They were fun hiking and walking buddies (prepared to get stopped by many admirers though haha!). Jill has an awesome dog run set up where they hang out when you’re busy in the house or not home, which made watching them really easy. There was also a bonus kitty, who we were obsessed with, he snuggled with us at night and was the sweetest cat I’ve ever met! There are tenants that live there: 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs. The one upstairs we saw a couple times who was very kind and the one downstairs goes to bed at 8pm so definitely need to be quiet past then. Overall, Jill was wonderful and her home is beautiful with a hot tub and amazing kitchen! We miss the pups already.
