Tracy
Hedwig is a low-maintenance, high-entertainment-value kitty cat with a penchant for flying through the air after her favorite toys--especially the purple one with the bell! She took all of about a day and a half to figure out I was harmless and once she got comfortable having a new human around, her true affectionate self came out to play. She's talkative (but not overly so) and curious (but never annoying), a very sweet companion in every way. Tracy and Jon's place is cozy and their kitchen well-organized, which makes the house easy to inhabit and care for. And the neighborhood is fantastic! I especially enjoyed the Prince Memorial Greenway and found a gem of a sushi bar nearby. All around fabulous sit!

Rhiannon
I had such a wonderful stay at the home of Rhiannon and little Kilo. Rhiannon is a gracious and considerate hostess, who went out of her way to make me feel welcome. Her place is lovely, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Its location is a short walk to stores, restaurants, cafes and bus lines. I greatly enjoyed the charm of the neighborhood, as well as the ease of taking public transportation into D.C.

Kilo is sweet, precious, friendly and simply adorable. She loves to cuddle, nap, play, intently watch birds, squirrels and rabbits, and simply hang out. I enjoyed every minute that I spent with her and could not believe how quickly our month together passed. Thank you, Rhiannon, for your incredible hospitality. I am so happy to have become a new friend to you and Kilo.

Michelle
I had an amazing time at Michelle's house with the wonderful Sophie the cat.

Sophie is, like me, an old gal with great spirit. It took her a short time to warm up to me and then it was all purrs and please brush me!

Michelle's home is lovely, cozy and comfortable and close to Lake Simcoe for beach time.

Michelle's communications prior to the visit were great and she was always available via text should any issues arise - and none of substance did :)

Dolly and Peter are amaaaaaaazing. Dolly will do anything to be a lap dog, and Peter will do anything to get a second away from Dolly running into him haha.
The area is awesome, too!

Maryam
My arrival to Maryam and David's was set to the comparatively dramatic backdrop of Storm Eunice. That day the Isle of Wight recorded the strongest ever gust of wind in the UK at 122mph, and whilst the winds around their home were fierce seemingly no damage was done. Even though they were about to embark upon a long journey out in these sort of elements the whole family were calm and welcoming.

For this trip they took Whiskey with them and so it was just me and Olaf. From what I understand this allowed the opportunity to get to know Olaf more than I might otherwise. When Whiskey is in the house he tends to dominate the downstairs and Olaf retreats upstairs.

Olaf is a beautiful cat. His predominant state is one of skittish-ness and scurrying. Though grooming wasn't always top of his agenda, there was plenty of strokes and seeking out of attention. By the end of the week we had settled into a gentle rhythm together.

Thank you so much to Maryam and David for your trust and your hospitality. I would most certainly stay again!

Martha
Where to start on Martha and Chica...I had such an amazing time with this sit. Chica is just the sweetest, most easy going gal. A little shy at first, but once she's comfortable all she wants is love and adventure. I couldn't have asked for a better hiking and cuddling companion! And Martha was such an incredible host. Very communicative, flexible, friendly, and hospitable. She made it so I felt very at home from the start, encouraged me to make myself comfortable and take advantage of all her property had to offer - I got a chance to use her wood-burning stove and even picked/ate some delicious (and massive) asparagus from her garden! She also invited me to stay an extra night after she returned from her travels (which was a huge favor to me in bridging some of my travels) and we got the chance to get to know each other a little bit more. Martha's home is nestled in the heart of Black Mountain, minutes from some amazing hiking and cool restaurants, and only about a 20 minute drive to Asheville. Definitely the perfect spot for anyone seeking time in the great outdoors and/or to explore all that this region has to offer. I would recommend this sitting for Martha to anyone, and even plan to return at the end of this month!
