Our dog, Samba, is an extremely fearful rescue dog. She is afraid of strangers, yet Jonathan and Ashley quickly won her over and made her feel very comfortable. And us, too. We are so lucky to have found them and so is Samba. We could not have asked for better caretakers. They recognized Samba's special needs and were able to gain her trust. She was obviously in good hands for the time we were on vacation. Jonathan and Ashley kept us posted on her progress and sent us pictures and videos of the fun they were having. Thank you so much for all you did for us and for Samba!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time caring for Sue’s fur babies, Dexter and Molly. Though my sit was only over a span of 4 days, I really appreciated the attention to detail Sue provided before and during my sit. Her welcome guide and typed up instructions covered every necessary detail needed to ensure I could provide responsible, safe, personalized and quality care to her beautiful cats and for her home. I valued that we were able to meet prior to my scheduled sit, so that she could acquaint me with her home and Dex and Molly. As well, I had hoped to put her mind at ease to have me sit for her once we’d met. It meant a lot to know I had her trust. I would want the same reassurance in her position. I never had to guess where anything was. She always promptly responded to any communications while away. Her home and neighbourhood were lovely and peaceful. And after I had been warned that Molly would take a couple days to warm up, I was blown away and touched that within 15 minutes, she was purring in my lap. I can’t say enough how sweet Dex and Molly were. Dex was also very affectionate and a purring machine every time he was touched. They were both very calm and easy to care for kitties. In just a short time, I had grown very fond of them and it would be an absolute pleasure to sit for them again in the future. Such a positive experience 😻
We appreciated Marilyn's warm welcome as well as the time she set aside so we could get to know her before and after her trip. She has a clean, tidy and well-organized home with a beautiful backyard where we enjoyed a few meals, never far from Rosie, a petite and beautiful cat. She loved staying outside most of the day and joined us in the evening for some play time and pets. We also enjoyed walking to the many large parks around her area, namely Rise, Raphael, Bedfords and Havering Country Park. Thanks Marilyn for making our stay a very enjoyable one.
Myles was great! He’s a very attentive dog, likes people, and is a joy to spend time with. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood near downtown Mountain View.
Sitting for Paul and Colleen was an absolute pleasure. The fabulous Boyz, Levi and Fergus, are very loving and well-behaved, the house is beautiful, modern and extremely comfortable (especially after hours of shoveling snow!), and Paul and Colleen are super nice, interesting, helpful and amazing hosts. I'm very lucky to have spent time with them, and their family and friends, and could not recommend them enough to other sitters.
Alon did a very good job of intro'ing their apartment to us, and explaining about their pets when we first Skyped with them to talk about the sit. They also sent a good guide on the pets and apartment ahead of our arrival - complete with detailed info on how to get to the apartment from the airport (simple: hop a bus right in front of the terminal and then transfer to the subway - or just walk a little bit at the end). They also did a good job of explaining their pets (the cat IS a bit bonkers - as warned! The dog is an absolute cuddly sweetheart.) Because of scheduling they couldn't meet us in person, but arranged for a good friend to meet us when we arrived to make sure all went well. Berlin is a fascinating city, filled with the most amazing museums and public spaces. We truly appreciated a chance to explore the city at our leisure. There is a subway entrance five minutes from the apartment and the subway system in Berlin is outstanding. We got the Welcome Card for Berlin that included museums and transit. In fact, it's so good, it's easy not only to get around the city, but also places like Potsdam, Charlottenberg and Spandau. The apartment itself is quite comfortable, with a decent bed, complete kitchen, bathroom, spacious living room/dining area and a second bedroom we used as our clothes-drying-station. Alon let us know ahead of time that, while the apartment itself is fine, the neighborhood is "up & down." The first block or so from the apartment isn't great - but there are so many ethnic restaurants (we tried Vietnamese, Turkish, and Syrian), both German supermarkets as well as ethnic grocery stores that it balanced out. If you want to explore Berlin, because transit (buses and subway) are so close, this is a good base to do that.
Owie was a delight to sit this past week. For an older dog, he’s full of personality and was not difficult to speak his mind. He was overall laid back and happy most of the time and seemed to enjoy me sitting with him and getting to know one another.. Sharon was a lovely pet parent to work with. She was a good communicator and very thoughtful, and her home is beautiful and in a great area of Los Angeles. I’d sit with Owie any time that it could work out for Sharon and myself.
