If Ana happens to apply to any of your dates, confirm her sit as soon as possible! I know it's easier to just post 5 stars for sitters, but this one is truly legitimate. We lost one of our last two herd goats just before Ana came, leaving one very senior goat on his own. I went back and forth between traveling and canceling to stay with him and figure out his best options. The trip was critical to make and with Ana's assurances, I left for two weeks. My little had the best companionship, the best care, very attentive eyes on him, and was never alone for too long, helping him to adjust to his new normal. This platform is great for people to travel and visit new places; however, animal care often comes in second for the explorer as they enjoy their new surroundings. Ana found the way to enjoy time for herself yet keep animal care as her priority. My senior pup loved having Ana's little senior pup, Peanut, in the house. When I come home from traveling, I can tell in an instant if my animals were satisfied with their care, and these two were happy little campers! Sadly, our summers include wicked wildfires. We had one break out within 2 miles of the house--on the day I was traveling coast to coast. When I landed and spoke with Ana, thankfully the fire was under control and evacuation was not required; however, she already had contacts established for transport for my goat and she had the car packed with all she would need for their care should evacuation been necessary. Having a wildfire that close to your home is completely unnerving, especially when you are not home. It took some time for me to settle my nerves but it was NOT because I lacked confidence in Ana. Her communication was fantastic. Again, explorers often say they will send updates daily or send photos and then they go MIA periodically. Ana sent me daily updates, as I had requested, and sent photos. I could tell by their energy in the photos that all was well. We really didn't know how my senior goat would do on his own and with someone new. Ana and Pippin quickly became tender friends and he felt safe with her. Pinkie pup loved all of the attention she got. This is a long review but it is important for me to write it. We all put a lot of trust in the person coming in to our homes and caring for our littles while we are away. On some level, we have to surrender and trust all will be well upon our return. This is the first time I can say that I could focus on the difficult task that requires me to travel and not have a constant worry running in the background. Personally, it has been lovely getting to know Ana. She is a very kind, compassionate, and generous person. She has keen eyes when it comes to all the details and the sweet care we hope to receive for our littles. And we really really hope she wants to come back for another visit!
I really enjoyed my stay. The cat is adorable, she came home right for lunch and dinner.
Teddy is an adorable cat and a real character. He is very clear about what he wants, primarily food and walks, but he likes a good brush as well. I loved taking him out and meandering around the local area, with the beautifully kept houses and the sound of the river in the background. Jess and Simon were excellent hosts; they were very patient with me and provided what was almost certainly the most informative Welcome Guide I've yet encountered. The house is very comfortable and in an almost unbeatable location. An autumnal walk to Quarry Bank Mill was a highlight (this was solo as it's a tad too far for Teddy). There's also a decent yoga studio (Urban Yoga) where I went to a relaxing candlelit evening class. A very special and memorable sit.
Francesca and her family are lovely and Cicero is a great cat who’s very independent and chilled out and loves to be brushed! The house is warm and spacious and a great kitchen for cooking. Getting around London is very easy with great transport options close by.
We had great 3 weeks in September taking care of Roger and Siew’s house, Friday the cat, chickens and olive grove. We enjoyed Roger and Siew’s company for the first couple of days before they left for vacation, they were kind to show us around and to introduce us to the area. Friday the cat is a sweetheart with a funny character, reserved at the beginning, but so lovable when she gets to know you. Chickens are nice and easy to take care of as well. We instantly felt like home in this house, and we will always remember this experience with warmth in our hearts. We feel that we could learn so much more about Friday the cat, the garden, the wood craft and just to exchange the travel stories with Roger and Siew, that we will come back to this house at any time.
5 stars are not enough for Tara, Kevin, and their adorable cat Belle. Tara and Kevin are hospitable welcoming and so well organized so that caring for their lovely apartment is clear, pleasant, and state of the art convenient. Belle’s personality is sweet and playful…. adorable ...charming and she is great company! I'm going to miss her and hope to sit for her again.
Holly was easy to communicate with and very welcoming. Honey & Maggie are very sweet, loving dogs and love a cuddle. You can access the local park from the back gate, which is spacious and gives the dogs the room they need to run. They are prey driven and will try to chase squirrels, birds and cats so need to be on leads on the way to the open area of the park. Once off the lead they responded well to recall but if in "hunt mode" may take a bit longer to respond - they are incredible to watch as they stalk but they never catch anything! When we were petsitting, their house was undergoing some work but Holly was very upfront about it so we knew what to expect, it will look fabulous when it's done. There is a cool sitting outside area, with newly laid lawn & hot tub! The house is close to local shops and only a short drive to the beach. There's a railway station just 5mins from the house, which only takes one stop to Bournemouth, if you want to avoid driving. Great little weekend break. Thanks.
