I very much enjoyed my sit at Kira's and Rock's place. Nuunu and Lilo are really friendly dogs, interested in getting affection after having made first contact. The house is special and cozy, I loved spending time in the moody kitchen-diner and the bright little seating area. Also the quarter they live in is so beautiful. You will love walking around with the dogs there, eye-candies in nice houses everywhere! And also green areas closeby. Speaking of going for walks: Nuunu and I first had to check out a little while who's the alpha boss ;-) He can indeed be quite stubborn sometimes, but nothing you can't handle with some straight talk, and surprising twists in action to get him moving again...Finally, we got big mates, too and he even kept following me through the whole house during my stay and sleeping next to my bedroom door. Nuunu is a real character with a slightly freer spirit and so, you will feel extra pleased when he's showing you his affection! And sweet little Lilo: He seems to be a sensitive soul which makes him such a fine buddy during the walks as he keeps on fine-tuning about your walking tempo when you have him on the leash. Concerning other dogs, he was great to handle for me as a solo sitter but I mostly kept him on the leash after having checked with Kira what to do best. Lilo was getting more and more relaxed in interaction with other dogs when I was relaxed (but alert), too. I often stopped for a moment and kept him on a short leash in between my legs which apparently, he found comforting. Furthermore, Lilo is such a sweet teddybear, his soft fur with his never-ending appetite for cuddles is an extremely charming mixture! The communication with Kira was pleasantly transparant and I appreciated her briefing about the dogs' behaviour a lot as of course, they know them best and know about their quirky actions. When exploring the surroundings on my own, I was pleased to use one of their bikes. I went to the beach several times which takes you about half an hour. And I enjoyed the city of Haarlem, had fun with some shopping and going to the movie theater, also eating out. All with all: A very pleasant sitting experience with extremely kind and sweet dogs!
We had a wonderful time looking after Dickens, Widgeon and Teddy and staying in Mark's beautiful home with views of mountains and Lake Thun. Dickens and Widgeon are adorable Golden Retrievers who are very affectionate and who loved being close to us all the time. They showed excitement at each and every walk that we took them and were great company as we explored the local area. The walks from Mark's place are very varied with some of the best scenery Switzerland has to offer. We enjoyed long walks Dickens and Widgeon in different directions and all with mountain and lake views. Teddy is a very cute cat who arrived for meal times and who enjoyed being on the balcony with Dickens and Widgeon. It was so lovely to watch Teddy's comfortable friendship with Dickens . Mark is a wonderful host and excellent at communicating about our housesit. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know and to look after Widgeon, Dickens and Teddy in such a beautiful home. Thank you Mark.
My husband and I enjoyed our time with Ginger. Your husband, Kevin, was a great host and very welcoming. This was a different type of sit for us in that the owner was gone during the day, but present in the evenings. We essentially were daycare providers for little Ginger, who by the way is the most adorable thing you can imagine. If you like energetic, playful, lovable and all around cuteness, this sit is for you. She loves to fetch, walks well on a leash, and is good at naps once her batteries run out.
We had the pleasure of house and pet sitting for Marilee and John in beautiful El Dorado Hills, California. Their warm and generous hospitality made us feel very welcome. Their modern and comfortable home was the perfect place to stay, with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The neighborhood was safe, with pleasant walking paths among manicured landscaping and natural beauty. The fully equipped kitchen, patio, and deck areas were all added bonuses. The highlight of our stay was spending time with Tinsley, an intelligent and obedient Labrador Retriever who is a retired guide dog. She was so sweet, gentle, and happy, and it was clear that she is well-loved and well-cared-for. We enjoyed our walks in the neighborhood with Tinsley, and her good behavior made every outing a joy. Thank you, Marilee and John, for entrusting us with your wonderful home and adorable Tinsley. We had a wonderful time, and we look forward to doing it again someday!
