Basil was awesome to sit! What a nice bunny! Up until Basil, I didn't know rabbits purr :) The sit was quite simple, Basil was pretty self-sufficient, just make sure that she has breakfast, dinner, and of course some attention. Basil even seemed to like my guitar playing - funny enough, the last night I was there I played a little guitar and then went to bed. Basil wasn't having it, came and scratched on the door, While it was only for a couple seconds, I suppose it was a request for one more song. I of course indulged her, she's one of my favorite groupies! The area was nice with restaurants and a couple cafes within walking distance. Diana was great, it really nice talking with her, we had some great conversations. I look forward to sitting for Basil again!
I could not have asked for a better housesit from the wonderful home, location and the generosity of my hosts. Buddy was a joy to look after in every way so cuddly and attentive. Would love to return some day. Thank you Tina and Scott.
Archie was so much fun and made me laugh so much with with his silly personality! He’s pretty easy to care for and is just the happiest little guy. He is very social and loved snuggles! The location was great. Super close to grocery stores, cafes, food places and a quick drive to the beach. The condo was very warm and homey. It was very clean and welcoming. Melanie is a gem and was so kind and great with communication. I would highly recommend.
The Home & Neighborhood Culver City is a charming suburb of Los Angeles, offering a small-town ambiance while still providing proximity to major city conveniences. The house is conveniently situated within walking distance of downtown Culver City, granting easy access to delightful coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and public transportation. The beauty of this House Sit lies in its accessibility—no car is necessary to fully appreciate the surroundings. Moreover, the home boasts a tasteful decor and impeccable cleanliness. The guest room, equipped with a desk and monitor, proved exceptionally valuable for remote work. The library/yoga room provided a serene space for relaxation and indulging in a few good books. While I only utilized the Peloton once, the effects were definitely felt in my legs the following day. The Fur Babies Chloe asserts herself as the dominant cat, seeking affection whenever you settle on the couch. Molly, while acknowledging Chloe's dominance, occasionally stands her ground. I've observed their interactions up close, and though they never escalate into a real fight, it's fascinating to witness. Both cats are affectionate cuddlers, a quality I thoroughly enjoyed as I am a cuddler myself. Molly, in particular, expresses her affection through gentle love nibbles, which, rest assured, do not cause any discomfort. For those unfamiliar with love nibbles, I recommend avoiding abrupt hand movements to prevent startling Molly and potential inadvertent injury. The Host Nicole was truly wonderful. We maintained daily communication, and her welcome guide was both clear and concise. The guide, complete with pictures and detailed descriptions, instilled confidence in administering Chloe's medicine. Nicole's responsiveness extended to the pre-sit phase, where she communicated essential details, including travel times. Without hesitation, I would gladly sit for Nicole again.
I had an absolute blast taking care of Weasley. He is such a cool dog with a wonderfully, unique personality. Though still a puppy and in stages of learning commands, he’s so well behaved. We learned some Italian together, lol. He LOVES his walks and playing at the dog park. He does really well in public and on transit. He’s a good runner as well. We went on a day trip to the Lago Ablano (easy 40ish train ride) and hiked several miles of the trail and ran some of it too. Whether in public or at home, he’s very talkative and will tell you when he needs or wants something, it’s so cute. He’s still super young so therefore playful and lots of energy. I loved playing around with him at the dog park with stick or at home with his toys. I took him on at least two good walks a day and a shorter one before I’d go exploring if I wasn’t taking him with me. He’s a good snuggler and will happily sleep with you and cozy up to you on the couch to watch TV or just hangout. I found it easy to go out to do the sights that I couldn’t take Weasley to. I just timed my days to be gone for for 3-5 hours always making sure he got a quick walk before I left in addition to his morning and evening walks and I took him out in the courtyard before bed as well. Erica is an amazing person with great communication and super hospitable. She showed me around the city my first night there and we took Weasley with us which was so fun. She had tons of great recommendations all over the city. She left me contact info for two of her close friends that live in the same community to call on if I need help with anything which came in handy when one night his eye seemed to be bothering him and I wasn’t sure if I should call the vet and they came over to look at it with me. They were super nice and helpful and offered to help translate with the vet if I ended up needing to take him. Erica and I became fast friends and we hung out a lot when she got back since I wasn’t leaving the city yet and was kind enough to let me crash on the couch until my flight left a few days later. Erica’s place is so cute, I love her decor style. I felt right at home. It’s in a really nice, safe area in north Rome. It’s a way less touristy area which I personally LOVED. There are several buss stops all within a short walk of her place, and Rome in general is a very walkable city. Public transit is very readily available and easy to use, you just have to give yourself some extra time because sometimes you have to wait a bit for the bus you need. The Metro is super efficient and so are the trains to the other nearby areas like the one to & from the airport and to the lake I mentioned before. There are several restaurants and cafes within a short walking distance including a delicious restaurant that has gluten free options for all there dishes including pizza and pasta. There’s also a market right next door (which if you’re gluten free does have a couple breads). There’s also a gluten free market about 20ish minute bus ride away which was amazing. There’s a path along the river which was great for running, walking, or cycling. I felt perfectly safe there anytime of day. I definitely hope to get the pleasure of doing this sit again. 😊💚
It was our first time and it was amazing! Lola and Bailey are the most loving and adorable cats you can imagine, they love people and always want to cuddle and be close to you. Avril has been soo nice with us from the first moment and has made everything easy, she has recommended routes, places to go and explained everything to us very well. The house is very cozy and it is in a beautiful neighborhood, with lots of nature, footpaths and close to London. We definitely recommend it and hope to return!! We already miss being there with Lola and Bailey 🤍
