Ann, Tom, and their animals are wonderful! It was so fun to spend some time in the Black Hills with the animals. Ann and Tom leave detailed instructions for how to take care of all the animals, and also walked me through the process prior to them leaving. The three dogs, Merrell, Sawyer, and Finn are absolute sweet hearts and will steal your heart. I visited in the summer, and the horses were beautiful and easy to take care of. The cats were very loving and friendly, they wanted lots of pets and would hang out on your lap. Ann and Tom also let my sister stay and help during the stay, and it was so fun to do the stay with her. Thanks, Ann and Tom!
Angela was great--her plans changed and she let me know well ahead of time and actually found another (amazing) place for me to stay.
Nicky was great explained everything thoroughly. Stayed in contact throughout the sit. Sooty and Sam were easy care though Sam is very shy she trusted me enough to not run away and when Nicky was here and actually came to take some treats from my hand. Lovely stay a haven in the bush, highly recommend. I would be happy to sit again.
Philadelphia: This was by far one of the best cities I've traveled to in the United States and Francine's home is in the heart of all that makes Philadelphia beautiful. The inspiring architecture, the history, the social activities, amazing restaurants and the ease of getting around made a trip that I will remember for a very long time. The Pet: All Little One wants to do is be held and loved. He was such a sweetie and only took a day or two to be warmed up to me. Francine left very detailed instructions on how to take care of him so there was no guesswork. The Home: Francine lives in a gorgeous well-appointed high rise condo with doormen who took great care of me while I was there and made me feel safe. Having access to the gym right downstairs with purified water were an added plus. I felt very comfortable there. The HO: Francine was communicative, generous, and attentive during the entire sit. If there ever was an issue, she was right there to respond and take care of it, even though she was off enjoying her own vacation, I never felt like she was out of reach. Unfortunately, Francine overstepped the boundaries of what were reasonable requests at times and made me uncomfortable. There were several times where I had to be adamant about saying no to a task she was asking me to do that had nothing to do with pet care or home care. I even had to send her the Trusted House sitter code of ethics towards the end of the sit as a reminder of our mutual arrangement. Based on some other reviews and my similar experiences to them, I think if Francine was more honest in her listing about needing more of a house manager than a house/pet sitter -- which is what this platform provides -- future sitters can adjust their expectations.
Lucy is so sweet, she loves to be around you, so after she warms up she will be your shadow. She is a HUGE snuggler in bed! They have a lovely outdoor space and Lucy will sit out and sunbath. She can be a little anxious with noises and people at the door, but (in my experience) calms down quickly. She loves meal time and carrots! Lorian and Billy were amazing host! I was able to come in the night before and get to know them a little more which was lovely. Lorian even baked delicious cookies! Their place was located ~15 minutes from the heart of downtown. Lots of parks and trails nearby.
Great location in Oakland with comfortable and manageable house & garden. Finbar is very easy to look after and does not require a lot of maintenance. Kay is quick to respond and great with communication.
