Olga and her husband and child were great house sitters. They sent me photos of our Kitty and updates on her appetite. The house was in great shape when I returned. Sheets had been washed and were in the dryer.
We had a wonderful time in Meera & Wilken's apartment. Devi & Luke are super cute and we tried to give them as much love as we could. They have different characters which we were able to experience: Luke instantly offers you his belly to pet while Devi decides when she wants love. Both love playing and climbing their playground. Other then that communication with Meera was super easy. The apartment is cozy and has a great location. We really appreciate the trust you have in us and would love to come back soon :)
It was lovely meeting Amanda and Rob and we appreciated being picked up from the train when we arrived and dropped at our main bus connection when we left. Monty their rabbit takes a while to get used to new people and may nip but once he gets to know you he gets quite excited when you arrive to feed him and talk to him. There’s also an allotment to look after which involves watering by hand but the reward is some beautiful fruit, veges and flowers! Their very comfortable home in Thames Ditton is very handy to public transport and local shops for fresh bread and basic items. Highly recommend this as a place to look after and Thames Ditton is a beautiful place to visit.
We have had a wonderful time housesitting for Helen in La Barde in the peaceful countryside right on the river Dronne close to the small towns of Saint-Aigulin and La Roche-Chalais. When we applied for the housesit in May Helen kindly asked whether we would like to extend our stay for another 10 days while she and her family went away for a second holiday. We were happy to agree and stayed for 17 + 10 days with a short trip to the Pyrenees in between. We arrived on the afternoon of July 14 to a warm welcome by Helen and her son. She showed us around the house and garden, explaining our few duties, and then treated us to a tasty dinner and interesting conversation over a glass of wine. She and her son left for England the next day, entrusting us with the care of her comfortable home, 11 shy sheep, 10 curious chickens, 6 cuddly cats, a refreshing pool, and a low-maintenance vegetable patch. The extensive lawn was being taken care of by her friendly French neighbour who we loved chatting with. Helen had compiled a helpful list of all the neccessary information, and in case of any further questions she was just a 'Whatsapp' message away. We spent our days relaxing in the big garden or driving around the countryside to the many beautiful sites in the area. When we left on August 15 we were very sad to leave Helen's lovely cats. The four weeks spent at 'Le Pre Sec' have been one of our most relaxing holidays. We are very grateful to Helen for choosing us as housesitters - and definitely recommend this sit to future sitters.
We had a wonderful time staying at Maria and Leandros' place with Mr Apples. The apartment is beautiful and they kindly left us lots of tasty treats. Mr Apples is a very friendly, funny, affectionate fellow. He isn't very food orientated but loves lots of cuddles, attention, and to be brushed as often as you are willing! The location is great with easy access to the beach and a beautiful walk to Crammond Island at low tide. We felt so at home and comfortable here and we miss Mr Apples already. Leandros even very kindly drove us to our new home when they returned. We would happily sit here again and highly recommend this sit. Thank you Maria and Leandros!
Ben and Ciara were so lovely and welcoming, they have two amazing little dogs with so much personality. Jack is such a well behaved little cuddle bunny and Pete made us laugh everyday. They’re great on walks and we didn’t have any trouble. The house is tidy and warm with amazing views - we were more than comfortable there. Perfect place to be for walking, biking, and exploring snowdonia. Would definitely go back to hang out with Jack and Pete any time!
