Tonya was just great! Our two guys loved her and were very happy when we came home!
She texted pictures often and gave Tico his regular medicine every morning. Tonya even bought a pizza for us to eat when we returned home after 7 1/2 hrs flying!
Would have her back in a heart beat!

Orlaith
Taiga is a very clever, sweet and fun dog girl. It was a pleasure to look after her. She understands immediately if you show her dog-games (which she loves). She is agile and fast and enjoys a lot to be out in nature and will happily come along. At the same she will match your energy. If you rest, she will do so too or find an activity for herself (people watching from the balcony 😊 or chewing and playing with her treats).
Communication with Orlaith was easy from the very start. It was lovely to interact with Orlaith, received plenty of helpful tips and she made my stay as pleasant as possible.
Thank you 🙏 for the time!

The three cutest cats there could be! These three cats have completely different personalities and were an absolute joy to sit for. Poppy is still a 'kitten' and loves to play and be pet and is so fluffy and cute. Moose took a little bit to warm up but then he would be vocal and come over for pets, so sweet. Otis is a big cuddly cat and just wants attention, he is the best snuggle companion. Charles and Kittie's house is beautiful, great location, and has a wonderful back deck. They were very welcoming when I arrived the day before, great at communicating before/during/after, and overall great people. I can't wait to stay again!

Trine Malene
Trine was incredibly lovely to meet and interact with. It was fantastic to have a call beforehand and go for a walk together on Saga's usual route. She also left us guidebooks, drinks, and food, including chocolate, shortbread and pudding, for our arrival. Trine was also communicative during the trip and gave us more walks and food recommendations. Her house was close to the train and multiple bus routes, along with a big shopping centre.
Saga is an energetic dog who enjoyed long walks, interacted with other dogs well, and responded quickly to squeaky balls. She is very food motivated, so treats were a must during walks and while you ate meals. Sniff work, toys and regular play were important to keep Saga occupied and to avoid barking as she is a very energetic dog.
Thank you Trine!

We enjoyed this short sit very much - even though I never got to meet Chris we felt very welcome and at home at their place. She was always quick to answer any correspondence and very helpful
Buffy and Dawn are a bundle of fun and very loving. It was a shame Dawn wasn’t too mobile but we all coped with it well
Would love to sit here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this sit

We had an absolutely fabulous time caring for Barbara and Mel's lovely animals and staying in the gorgeous guest accommodation "Le Cottage" in a stunning, peaceful rural location. Le Cottage had everything we needed, including our two year old daughter who was entertained with lovely books and games, as well as a high chair which was left for her to use during the stay.

There is work to be done, morning and evening, to care for the various animals, but it did not feel like work — it is so simple! The animals have their routine, and the preparation of their various feeds is quite straightforward:
Manolo the horse needs his hay to be steamed and his fodder to be soaked, then mixed with pellet feed. He's a lovely animal who also enjoyed some treats in the form of windfall apples and peaches from the various fruit trees on the property.
The sheep have a scoop of oats morning and evening, plus hay topped up as necessary.
The cats have a sachet of meat each morning and dry food ad lib.
The dogs need the most supervision, only because Belle loves her food and would eat poor Pepe's food if given the chance! Both dogs are absolute dotes, love company and love lots of rubs and walks. They were wonderful company, without intruding on us at all.
Given the weather, the animals all need plenty of water to stay hydrated, but this is also a very simple task. When it came to animal care, nothing was arduous or complicated, and everything (food bins, storage) was labelled and thoroughly explained to us on arrival.
We were also asked to water the vegetable garden, which is very straight forward as there is a garden hose and there was not a large amount of ground to cover.

There is a beautiful woodland a stones throw from Le Cottage which the dogs loved to walk in, and the nearby town of Aulnay had a fantastic supermarket and restaurants, just a short drive away. We took a day trip to La Rochelle which is only around 1hr30 away and offers much to do and see.

In truth, we didn't venture far from Le Cottage throughout our stay, as we had all we needed. The cottage is very comfortable and fully provisioned. There are comfy beanbag chairs which we enjoyed while sunbathing in the garden. The hottub was just luxury for us, particularly peaceful under the shade of the fig tree (complete with delicious ripened figs!) and Barbara and Mel were kind enough to allow us the use of their swimming pool, outside the main house.
Le Cottage has a TV, Internet access, and a well stocked bookcase, so we were not short on entertainment during our stay.

Since we have come home, our daughter is constantly asking to go back to France and she is telling everyone all about Belle and Pepe, Manolo, Reggie and Ron, and the sheeps! We truly had a wonderful time and are so grateful that we were given this opportunity to care for such fabulous animals and beautiful home.

We would recommend anyone to housesit here, you will not regret it!
