Tater is an incredibly engaging, adorable, amusing and hilarious small friend to spend time with! Stephanie's home is a wonderful, quiet, well-appointed retreat in a brilliant, central location. Stephanie was a generous, thoughtful, responsive host .
Watching over Trevor and Claire’s 3 dogs and a cat was great. They are very kind and friendly, they helped us understand all that needs to be done very. The pets were funny and sweet and gave us a good laugh every evening. Their house is amazing and felt very cozy and comfortable. Everything was just really good and I would definitely do that again. Thank you Clair and Trevor, hoping to see you again.
Louise and Paul are lovely people. They are first timers to THS. We tried to assist as much as possible in their preparation for the house sit. Communication was good. They have a modern house with beautiful views. The four star rating was given due to these reasons. Unfortunately the house was left unclean. It took us a couple of hours to clean surfaces and flooring in the ones we needed to use. Angus, the dog, is old and somewhat difficult to manage. He has issues with infected eyes. The eyes needed a wipe and ointment to be put in twice a day. We were warned to use the muzzle. We did so, but on four occasions, we got bitten whilst putting the muzzle on. One event cut through skin. Another event bruised badly. Although Angus has a pet door to go out to a courtyard for his needs, he did his number ones on a few occasions in the house and garage (even though the panel lift door was left partly opened for numerous hours during the day, as instructed). There was evidence that this had happened previously as there was a soaked pee smelling towel under the recycling bottles bucket at the corner of the garage. He also casually lifted his leg and did his needs on the legs of furniture inside, in front of us. Again, whilst his pet door and the garage panel lift were opened only a few metres away. He also has walking issues, you can’t pick him up, he doesn’t come when called. This last one could be explained from a decline in hearing. We have done over 40 house sits. We never needed to put such a negative review in the past. We feel that, on this occasion, other potential house sitters need to be aware.
Petsitting in Sesimbra felt like a therapeutic retreat for me. This magical place offers a beautiful location, with easy access to both Setúbal and Lisbon. Marié, who is well-known in the community, is a lovely lady, as are her beloved dogs who are also very popular. In fact, I've been stopped by strangers asking when Marié will return. The apartment provided everything I needed, and it's only a 5-minute walk to the beach. While I loved spending time with the dogs, it required patience, particularly in the beginning. Walking both Finn and Snoopy at the same time can be a bit chaotic as Finn has a habit of eating anything he finds on the ground, and Snoopy likes to stop and sniff around. My advice is to observe them on their first walks to understand their behavior. Keeping Finn on a short leash will help prevent him from snacking on any food he finds. On the other hand, you can use a longer leash for Snoopy, which will give her enough freedom to explore without stopping constantly. They are both able to handle long walks, with Finn enjoying a good run on the beach (just be sure to keep him on a leash). Meanwhile, Snoopy loves the stairs and is more outgoing than Finn, who tends to be more reserved. Overall, they are both wonderful dogs, and I miss them dearly. I hope to see them again soon.
We never had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Lucinda but from our telephone calls and texts they were so friendly. This was one of our favourite sits. There’s something about the house/farm that makes you feel so at home. The animals- yes there are alot of them, but they are wonderful. My first experience with pointers and I love them. Yes they are big and boisterous but total BFG’s that are so affectionate. They are obedient when walking them off the leash throughout the splendid local walks. The cats come and go. The old one loves cuddles at night on the sofa. Paddy the horse is adorable and loves cuddles and the fresh eggs from the chickens are yummy. I highly recommend this sit, it truely was a pleasure!
I love spending time with Jack! He is so adorable, friendly and well-behaved! I had a great time going for a run with him in the afternoon. Brit's apartment is very well-located in the desirable Wicker Park neighborhood. It is right next to the 606 trail, which is lovely for morning/afternoon walks. Brit provided clear instructions prior to my sit and her apartment was very comfortable. Highly recommend this sit if you want to visit Chicago!
