Laurie, her daughter Ellie, and her husband Bryan were all involved in looking after my house and my dog Juno. Juno can be challenging the first day of a sit because of separation distress and a tendency to be skittish with new people. Laurie and her family handled all this in stride and by the end of the sit, she reported that Juno was enjoying her walks and playing with Ellie. Thank you Laurie, Ellie, and Bryan for your patience and care in looking after my shy little dog and my home.

Jessica was incredible! She was so thoughtful and communicative, and organized. In fact when we got home we were shocked to see the place was EXACTLY how we left it. Super clean and our pup clearly extremely well taken care of. She sent photos and videos and chats daily! We were so grateful and hope she comes sit for Aries again in the near future :)

Stephanie was the perfect find for us. So much so that we contemplated giving a bad review so we could have her more often but we just can’t do that! Seriously, she loved and cared for our dogs as well as we do, and we do! Our dogs got hikes, walks and went snow shoeing while we were gone. We could not have imagined a better person to take care of our home and pets! She is officially now in the group of those we call friends.

Rachel

Rachel was one of our favorite sitters! I was a little concerned as the communication wasnt the best prior to the sit (long delays in responding). She had Shannon over a few days and her best friend on different days. We permitted it after meeting them, and trusting her. She was good about letting us know when something was wrong or broken. She also did a lot of changing things around in our home to accommodate what was desired. I understand as there was a bit of clutter in places. However, things were not always put back where they were and we have struggled to find several things. In some instances, the place looked better! Rachel was easy going and friendly. She graciously accommodated our needs for flexibility in the travel times. The animals all seemed happy and well so that meant the most! And she sent pics as requested! If she lived closer, she’s the kind of woman I could hang out with! With all this said, We would love to have her and Shannon back for a future sit, and the animals would be delighted too!

Erica and Darren have been on both ends of zeewoi-- as housesitters and as people who invited housesitters to their home. This made me and my husband feel especially at ease with them, and it's clear our cat felt the same way! They were communicative and left our tidy tidy. Come back to Charlottesville anytime!

Azura was A-mazing. On time, clean as a whistle, sent pics of our pups each da which helped us feel totally secure... Not to mention how friendly, likeable and prompt she was. Would highly recommend her. Choose her, in fact! You won't regret it.

Kimberly

Kim was a wonderful and very competent house sitter. We communicated easily and clearly from the beginning. She was easy going and took to the chores quickly, which is saying a LOT since we asked a lot of her with 20 sheep, 20 chickens, ducks, bunnies, a dog a a cat! She took our dog for long hikes and made sure to find backup care when she had to leave for a day so that the animals wouldn't be alone for too long. Upon our return, it was clear that all the animals were well cared for and she even weeded my garden!! The house was very tidy and clean. We really enjoyed having Kim stay in our home. She instantly felt like an old friend and she had a great sense of humor, too.

Orion

When we met Orion for the first time, we liked that they were genuinely eager and excited to spend time with our cats. When they came by the house to pick up the key, we showed them around, gave additional instructions, and asked them several times if they had any questions or needed to know about anything else. They confirmed they were fine. However, upon our return, we discovered that some of our instructions were not followed. We told them that we preferred the cats to only go out once a day and that they needed to be back in before sunset because of the coyotes. There is a cat door that has different settings to let them in/out, out only, in only. They left the cat door in/out which was noticeable upon our return because we came home at 8pm and both cats were still outside. In terms of tidiness, we think they did a decent job with cleaning up after themselves, but we were a bit taken aback seeing leftover food in the fridge and having to take out their trash. They also left something at our place, which they later picked up. In terms of communication, we think it was a little bit difficult. There were a few times we asked them a question or stated a preference, and they would not respond or answer our question. It made us confused, like perhaps we miscommunicated or they misunderstood us, but we would not receive an answer. Overall, though, Orion genuinely seemed to enjoy the company of our cats, and for this we appreciate. On the other hand, we’ve learned that we will need to outline all of our expectations in written form for future house sitters and make sure that the sitters understand and agree to them because we didn't feel understood during this house sit.

DAVID

David and Dottie had a short stay with Nalah and did a great job. Nalah was happy and relaxed when I arrived home, my place was extra clean, and we had good communication throughout the stay.

Catherine

Catherine was great! She took Jake for long walks and he enjoyed her company enough to even start sleeping in the room with her. It made our vacation much more relaxing to know that our dog was in good hands. She managed things in our home well and we came home to a sweet gift. You would be fortunate to have Catherine stay with your pets.

Wish I could give This Sit 10 STARS! Wonderfully comfortable accommodations: Master BR, king bed large shower with private deck overlooking stunningly scenic view. Huge living space, very modern kitchen including MW, gas range, refrigerator/freezer, garbage disposal. Hosts were kind enough to clear space in 'fridge. A large fenced back yard is accessible with dog door. Front yard includes gas BBQ and fire pit.

Mala (female) and Kulu (male) are both neutered siblings from a Great Pyrenees/Husky litter. They are  Gorgeous and Very friendly Large animals. I enjoyed their company immensely, and found that I could easily walk both on leash on relatively short hikes, but their favored activity is simply laying on the porch chewing dog treats stuffed into hollow bones, and being rigorously massaged.

The surrounding area is somewhat remote, but the sit allows leaving the residence for extended periods to explore.

Thank you Ryan and Mariah for such a nice welcome! When we first arrived, we were greeted by Alexander, the curious cat of the two, and a lovely note with homemade cookies for Javier! They were delicious! 

Their home is so warm and inviting with everything you'll need: a full kitchen, a comfy bed, and a projector for movie nights! 

Their welcome guide was super helpful and Alexander and Llewyn were so cute! We already miss them. 

Alexander was definitely the king of the castle, meowing when it was time for food, and a little swat here and there if you got too close to his bowl, but we learned quickly to distract him with his toys to pass to and from the living room to the kitchen lol. He needs his cream in his ears in the morning and my husband learned a hack to easily put it on while he's eating! No fuss, no stress. 

Llewyn was the cutest little cuddle ball. She would sleep with us and meow for cuddles and loved playing with her toys.  

The place is really well located within walking distance of the subway and grocery stores. 

I highly recommend this place and I would pet sit for Ryan and Mariah again!

Our stay at Clare and Julian's home was delightful! Their warm hospitality, beautiful house, and flexibility (inviting us to arrive a day before and leave a day after the sitting) made for a wonderful house-sitting experience. Bobby, is a very sweet and playful companion, which added a lot of joy to our stay. Highly recommend as It was fantastic, and we'd gladly return. Lovely people, cozy home, and an adorable furry friend! 🐾🏡🐾

We had a wonderful time staying at Emma’s beautiful house in Sergy and looking after Black and Silver. Emma was great at providing all the relevant information (and beyond) and clearly is well versed in having sitters in her house. Both Black and Silver are wonderful animals to spend time with and have equally unique personalities to match! Emma was transparent and available to assist throughout our stay and we were sad to leave! It’s a beautiful part of the world and we hope to come back again. Thank you Emma, Black and Silver!

Matthew

Matt and Alejandro were communicative, kind, helpful, and appreciative. Their apartment has a cool layout and gorgeous views and is in a building with jaw-dropping amenities. Great set up for working from home, too.

Their dog Cheeky is a cutie who loves to be around you and cuddle. The best sitter for this apartment would be a dog expert who can regularly enforce some boundaries. She does whine and bark often. We found the best way to get her to stop barking is to cuddle her and give her attention. She also pees and sometimes poops in the house on a pee pad so the sitter must be willing to clean this up. 

Besides these couple challenges, the sitter was a good experience. Northern Liberties is a fun neighborhood, too! Lots of good restaurants and nearby to a nice park.
