Hounds Town is one of the best places to bring your dog for boarding or day care. They treated my boy Hobi (brown/white Beagle) like family while I was away for a week. Hobi looked so happy with the other dogs, and I know he was given lots of love while my family and I were away. There was an outbreak of Kennel Cough when he was there, but he was already vaccinated and caught a minor case of it. Overall, I love Hounds Town and I will definitely come again when I need to board Hobi or bring him to day care!

Our dog is considered one of the family so leaving him in a safe and trustworthy environment is of the utmost importance when go on vacation. Our dog (StanLee) is always excited to go to Hounds Town Garden City and the tell-tale sign he has a great time is he is exhausted when we pick him up. One nice personal touch that we get from Hounds Town Garden City is at they post pictures on their private Facebook page. We look forward to see him playing with his new canine friends. We typically see him playing and having a great time while burning some energy. However, we do see him up to some mischief with his hound friends (see the pictures below). We thoroughly enjoy the service we receive at Hounds Town Garden City and highly recommend them.

Great place that treats our four legged friends wonderful. They share photos of the dogs interacting with each other which lessens any stress about leaving them. I highly recommend them for day care or boarding.

Staff are very welcoming to you and your dog. You know he is in safe hands and will be looked after. Sincere and kind o your dogs needs and to the owner. They have a excellent knowledge of a dog's behavior, which helps so much. Bailey loves going to play and knows he is safe, I know this too. They are exceptional! Best Ever!

The employees here are truly amazing! They treat your dog as if they are their own and it means so much! My dog is pretty attached to me, but when he gets to daycare, he runs in and doesn’t look back! Because of Houndstown, he is great in social environments with other dogs! Colleen, Sarah, Lauryn and Erin (as well as all the staff) are so good to my boy. There’s no greater comfort than knowing he is good while his momma works! Mr. Cooper loves hanging out with all his friends. I can’t thank the staff at HT enough for providing such a special place for my guy!

This was the best doggy day care ever!! My 10 month old puppy Lilo had the time of her life and was exhausted! Workers were so kind and caring about the dogs! She was there for 9 hours and got a little report card when I came to pick her up.

I had to leave my dog with hounds town garden city for an extended time frame. The staff took such good care of my dog for the many weeks he was there. He came back to me beautiful and happy, Barney loves the staff at HTGC. The boarding and day care are great. The people that work there are kind and attentive. I will continue to bring my dog to them. I trust them with him very much. I did not have to worry at all about my dog while he was there, I knew he was in good hands! Best place .

Had to leave the pooch for a weekend. He came back happy, healthy and waggin his tail. Thank you guys so much for taking care of my baby like he was your own. It brought me comfort to know they have an emergency vet contact in the event of an emergency. I would absolutely recommend hounds town garden city to my friends and family and without hesitation use them again for the next time we have to leave Napoleon behind. I would also recommend the end of stay bath he came out sparkling!!!!

Highly recommend Hounds Town for boarding for your pet. We used Hounds Town for a week for our sweet 4yo lab. They were transparent about their facility, showed me where Parker would be sleeping and assured me that if anything were to happen with Parker they would call me and either go to Bond Vet or VEG, which are great vets. The owner called me to give me an update on Parker while we were on vacation and I felt so at ease knowing she was somewhere that she was safe and having a lot of fun at. There is indoor and outdoor space and they uploaded photos of Parker and the other dogs everyday to their FB group. Will be using again!!!!

I use to come here but loyal customers with multiple dogs don’t mean anything to them! Early appointments don’t mean anything either first appointments and I was still getting my dogs after 3pm! The price always changed every visit! I go to Bones,Bath , and beyond now ! They’re awesome.. always have appointments, do a great job , and give my dog back in an hour and a half ! I’m a 3 strikes and you’re out kind of person!

Loyalty means nothing to this "family business". I missed a grooming appointment because of an emergency (why else would someone miss an appointment that they confirmed three times for?) When I called back to reschedule, I hear the groomer yell in the back with the nastiest attitude "She'll have to wait EIGHT WEEKS for her next appointment!" The kind man on the phone was smart enough to instantly put me on hold. He gets back on saying 'oh it's going to be tough to get an appointment blah blah blah' to which I respond listen if I'm going to have to wait weeks and weeks then forget it. He says he'll call back, okay. They called me the *next day* which just tells me they waited until the offended groomer was gone and asked the other one who worked the next day who said yes. Too late. I really trusted you guys and liked all the people who worked there and this whole interaction was really unfortunate, but if you treat people disrespectfully there will be something said. So congratulations to that nasty groomer - you just lost a customer that came about every 3 weeks, tipped 20% every single time (even though she would cut corners and not do a good job in general but I overlooked it because I understand being overworked) and never missed an appointment until this literal emergency. And lastly @TheBarrieInn please do not respond I literally don't care about what you have to say lol

I had a trip planned prior to getting my Jack a 6 month old medium golden doodle. A lady I met in my doctors office recommended the barrie inn for training and the fido fitness club. While looking into that they mentioned they do boarding. Just picked my Jack up from his own vacation. He is pooped out from all the play and fun. They followed my feeding regimen including his special breakfast apple and learned all his quirkiness. I highly recommend the barrie inn to anyone who wants a place that loves and cares for their babies

Called to make an appointment for my dog. At first seemed nice. Then when they told me they don’t have anything available. I asked if they can give her a bath? They told me Friday at 10am. The women on the phone asked me for her name. As I gave her my dogs name I mentioned “ she’s been there before”. When she looked up my dogs name she started interrogating me why I haven’t been there over a year. She seemed so mad that I wasn’t there overly a year and told me ya I’m sorry we don’t have anything available. What changed? You had no idea who I was and was able to give me a time and day when she can come. To then tell me there is no availability. She was yelling at me and being rude. After the response I have just gotten that they are not available for another 3-6weeks. I have been told that if I bring my dog in next week she can be seen. I have brought a lot of business to this place for many years. It’s hard to have a conversation with someone yelling at you. I have been to many dog places. And this one I know I won’t be coming back anymore. I tried to be calm. And asked her why she is doing this? And she said bye and hung up. I have been there before with many dogs. If that is how you treat a paying customer then it’s fine I won’t come anymore. Just disgusting how you treat people over the phone.

Amazing pet hotel. It's a 5 star retreat for our fur babies. The groomers also are outstanding. Very flexible, understanding. The facility is inpeccably clean always. You can see your babies from TV cameras within the entryway. And the price is just right. Yeshuah loves you and your soul is priceless!

Love this place and everyone who works here! The team here is fantastic and have been a life saver for our family surviving two puppies at once. Now 7 yrs old and still loving every visit. I can't say enough about The Barrie Inn. I have been using them over the years for grooming of my 5 standard poodles and little coton de tulear and always been very happy with the results. I loved them for grooming but I never needed them for anything else. Then my circumstances changed and I needed to board my immune compromised 2 year old poodle. This dog had been left once before with someone who boarded in her home and he was gravely ill when I picked him up. I was very concerned about my fragile dog and how he would do being left again. My vet recommended speaking to Ellen, one of the owners of The Barrie Inn. Ellen was superb! She listened sympathetically to my fears and promised she and her staff would pay very close attention to my dog's physical as well as emotional needs. She told me to call as often as I needed and she and her staff sent me pictures and videos to ease my mind. I came home to a healthy, happy dog. The Barrie Inn was truly a life saver!

I love this place! I’ve taken my dogs here for YEARS to get groomed. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and my dogs always come out happy, clean and fresh! I’ve recommended many friends to the Barrie inn and I’ve never heard a complaint! I will continue to take my fur babies to the Barrie inn and I highly recommend you do the same!

My baby seems to enjoy coming here and I enjoy bringing her here. I have been bringing my dog here for years now and I trust these people with her. Everytime I pick her up she looks fabulous and fresh, I recommend this place and the blueberry facials for our furry children. Great staff and super friendly.

We love Fido Fitness/Barrie Inn. I have left my high energy German Shepherd for both day care and boarding. Leo is a pandemic puppy who has grown up to be nervous and very wary of strangers. I am so grateful to Ellen and Evelyn, Dez, David, Chase and all those who have been so patient with Leo and given him a lot of love. I am so grateful to have a source of help to watch Leo when needed and keep him busy physically and mentally, but especially that knows and is trained to handle all dogs and personalities. The daycare/boarding industry is booming but it's a great feeling when you find a trustworthy group of people who love dogs and will keep them safe. Pricing is very reasonable considering someone is taking care of your family member. It's honestly a great set up, so convenient for drop off/pick up. And Leo has made friends! Thank you Fido team :)

We visit the area every summer and searched for a place that is comparable to where our dog goes in Florida. This is bybfar the best managed of all the facilities we tried in the area and their groomng is exceptional. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality day camp for your pooch.

I came into Fido Fitness from a grooming recommendation & ended up leaving my 12 week old puppy with David for their two week kickstarter program. The BEST money I ever spent. My family recently grew by 2 puppies. I ended up asking for assessment on them to help guide our family. My one puppy had severe anxiety. Could not walk in the street fear from anything passing him. The transformation on my puppy is unbelievable. The relationship between David, Ellen & my Charlie was so telling of how dedicated they are to their job. The love and care for my Charlie made my heart so happy. I wish I could give them 100000 stars.

My corgi Charlie has been coming here since about he was 6 months, he is now 10 months. I’m so glad they offer a pet taxi service for pick up and drop off. Everyone there is really wonderful. I feel safe leaving him in their care. He has a lot of energy and is a very social pup, he absolutely loves going!!! He comes home exhausted which is really nice since he is a high energy working dog breed. Today he got picked up and didn’t even say bye to me cause he was so excited to go 😂 they have an Instagram that is really cool to see what the pups are up too. I look forward to seeing more photos of Charlie on their Instagram!! I can honestly say I recommend Fido to all my friends who have pups.

FIDO Fitness Club is simply amazing. Not only were they able to accommodate our 3 dogs for an extended period of time(2 weeks) but it was also on a very short notice after a 12 hour international flight and 3-4 hours of traffic in route to Long Island causing us to miss our appointment with another kennel that closed at 7pm and could not wait for us to arrive(FIDO closes at 9pm). The owner of Michelle(i think) personally ensured that staff was available to meet us on such a short notice. The staff was also extremely helpful and great with our pets(especially Linda), we could not have asked for a better situation for our pets, as we made our move to Long Island and started a search for a place to live. Our pets simply loved it there and we plan on using FIDO's exclusively in the future.

Great play time for any season since it's indoors. Staff is wonderful!! Big and small dog play areas. Supervised. You can stay and play with your dog. If there are any behavior issues, they are dealt with immediately unlike many other parks that rely solely on owners being responsible to keep their pets behavior in check. Great release for high energy dogs like ours.

Fido fitness club is a God send for my bulldog. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about all dogs, they put your mind at ease when you leave your loved one. I can't be more thankful for this place and I highly recommend Fido fitness for anyone who wants their dog to be happy.

My dog Lily has been spending time at Fido Fitness/Barrie Inn since August 2015. She is very happy there and always gets excited when we arrive. The staff is very loving and attentive and I don't worry about her being there.

Best dog daycare on Long Island! Huge yard and big spacious playrooms giving the dogs tons of space to let them be dogs! My dogs love it, I bring them all the time

If you care about your dog at all, do not trust their place and their employees’ incompetence. We took our dog here for only the second time for day care and they gave her to the wrong family - which they didn’t even realize until my husband came to pick up our dog 90 min later. They also kept my husband in the dark for 30 min and told him nothing. Apparently they take the dogs’ collars off for “safety” to play so your dog is there with no identification, and this is nowhere in their disclosures. Also, they clearly don’t ask for ID to give your dog back bc they allegedly sent her home with a random dog walker who didn’t know what dog they were picking up. Owner was more concerned with her reputation than that my dog was sent to the wrong house and was missing from their control for over 2.5 hours. I will be pursuing the matter with corporate. UPDATE: The owner of Houndstown Island Park continues to gaslight us in their response below instead of apologizing, again. Also, their response is untruthful as my dog was unaccounted for over 2 hours until we tried to pick her up and she wasn't there. Then staff had to check cameras to find her.

Desi loves Hounds Town. Spends many a vacay there while his mom is away. He runs to the door the minute he realizes where we are. Best place for pups! Highly recommend!!! Edited July 2024. Two years later and Desi still loves going to Hounds Town. They are the best!

TERRIBLE experience!! This place is just a MEATPACKING. Left my dog for 6 days. everything is a mystery in this place they don’t show you the installation at all. I trusted them and left my dog there. For 4 days I was calling to check on my dog and they refused to give me any detail of how he was doing or even send a single phone. For a sec I thought my dog was dead. The staff was rude the whole time for no reason like they were picking on me. never again!

I’ve been sending my dog here for the past four years. Each overnight stay and each daytime stay have been great. The crew at Island Park are great and always so accommodating. They have helped me out in emergency situations. I’ve already scheduled a weeklong stay for my pup when we go on vacation. I would recommend Houndstown Island Park to everyone with a cherished pup!

We leave our lovable dog, Mate, at Hounds Town IP every time we are out of town. They always take very good care of him and he is always in good hands when he is with the Island Park crew! Pictures are posted almost every time that we leave on vacation and it’s wonderful to get photo updates every time we are away from him! Highly recommend them!!!

A wonderful place for your dog. Daycare... Overnight... Vacation... They are great for all. They match up your dog with others for playgroups & not just by size but by personality... My girl is more on the bigger side but prefers groups with smaller dogs. The people of Hounds Town recognized this without me telling them. You see the dogs coming in for the day happy to be there & leaving with smiles on their faces. This is the kind of place where you can relax knowing your precious pup is being well taken care of...

Left Onyx with DeeDee while I was in Hawaii. Best groom he has had all year! He came back energetic and without weird behaviors so no complaints here!

Dee is the best! She's reliable & accomodating. We have three cane corsos and because of her skill, patience and knowledge, she's the only boarding kennel well use. Checking in/out, meet & greets are super efficient. In general Dee just puts your worries at ease when you need to travel and have no choice but to board your pet. Dee sent us pics and videos during their stay and the dogs had a lot of recreation time which I know they loved being large breeds. When we picked up our dogs after 8 days they were happy, healthy & well taken care of. We look forward to working with you again Dee! Thank you!

I had to go away for 2 weeks and found Dee Dee's Pet Retreat literally at the last minute. 2 minutes into speaking with the owner Khadija, I felt comfortable leaving my dogs for an extended period of time. Very kind, professional, and welcoming. I was also very surprised too see how clean and spacious the area where the dogs are kept was. Very good service and would highly recommend.

Dee Dee is amazing. She’s has come to our home and given us amazing tools and techniques to begin training our 3 month old puppy. She has a wealth of knowledge, is patient, professional and kind. Most importantly she gets the job done. I would highly recommend her to anyone e looking for dog training.

Dee Dee's corner did an amazing job caring for my dog while my family was out of town for a couple of days. When we came to pick her up see looked very happy and healthy! She even seemed sad to leave. The communication with the owner is punctual, we also recieved updates while we were away. I have been working with Dee Dee's corner for about 2 years and would reccomend her to anyone who's looking for a friendly and loving environment for their pet. 5 stars for sure!

Her love for dogs and her passion keeps Duke, my 4 year old, 120 Lb Bullmastiff clean and surprisingly calm during his bath because this gentle giant is not a fan of the water. Khadija has a way of making his tail wag even in the mist of his least liked activity!! Haven’t tried boarding him yet, but if I ever travel again in this life time post COVID, I will most likely use her boarding services.

I don’t often go away on vacation but when I do I struggle to find someone to look over my baby doggo whom I consider my life! Lol. I am a little skeptical about boarding faculties and would rather give my baby to someone who is trustworthy and reliable. I came across DeeDee through a friend and honestly, all my worries went away! DeeDee was super professional, patient with my little demogorgon and provided lots of tips and advice that I will most definitely be using on my 1 year old mischievous Beagle. Her and I communicated daily & she provided me with pictures and videos of my baby doggo being a wonderful boy. Oh and he got lots and lots of treats and had a blast with the other doggo’s that he prob forgot about me haha. This is the first but it most definitely won’t be the last time I utilize DeeDee’s services. 100% recommend!

We had the privilege of working with Eric for 12 weeks and we could not be happier with our dog, George's progress. Eric perfected basic commands, leash-walking skills, and made great strides in George's ability to focus with distractions. The reinforced training has contributed to his calmer behavior and George is always happy to be rewarded for his good behavior . Aside from being a great trainer, Eric is a great person who puts his heart and soul into his work. George always loved his weekly sessions with him and it showed with his tremendous progress in a relatively short time. Eric was always accessible, and accommodating, and full of information. Eric always followed our sessions with relevant information as well as products to reinforce our training. I highly recommend Eric and his training expertise. It was a pleasure to work with him. I recently adopted a very high energy dog from the shelter and reached out to Eric for some puppy training and to work on socialization. My pup has learned SO much from our sessions, Eric taught me a ton of great tips and tricks to work through all the issues I had and my puppy has improved greatly. He's very thorough and seems to have the answers for any behavioral issues that pop up. If I ever need more training I will definitely use Eric again. Highly recommend!

Eric was our trainer to our highly stubborn energetic puppy Beagle! Eric was always patient, kind and gave us lots of ideas and tips to keep our little Lucy busy!

We used Eric as a trainer for our Italian Greyhound puppy. We found him to have a lot of patience and he was very knowledgeable and great with our dog. He gave us lots of notes to work with Luna in between sessions and we had great results. Plus our dog really liked him and was so happy when he would come to work with her. We highly recommend him for all your training and dog walking needs.

We reached out to Eric to help us with our 1 year old golden retriever, Zeus. We were very nervous that due to his high energy it would be hard to get anything achieved with him. We had tried petco training in the past but nothing really stuck. Well Eric came in and totally crushed it!! Having Eric come into our house made a HUGE difference. Being in the environment Zeus is in everyday helped with his training and Eric made sure to cater to Zeus and how he learns. We were able to schedule out the training lessons in the right way to make sure Zeus had enough time to absorb the new skills. I would HIGHLY recommend Eric and his services. He does a great job and is super easy to work with.

Margaret from UpDog has been great with our Boston Terriers. One is elderly and the other is just a puppy. Highly recommended!!!!

There’s being a dog sitter as a job and there is being a dog sitter as a passion and Noelle is the latter. Noelle’s reasons in why she started this business is heartfelt and relatable to every pet owner and she treated our shih-tzu and yorkie like her own. In the five days in being away, Noelle kept constant communication and documented their time with so many great photographs and videos. With trips to the beaches and parks, not once was I left wondering if my dogs were ok. There is no other person who can provide the amazing service and care like Noelle can. Noelle is simply the best. She is the only dog sitter we use for our dog and he get so excited when he sees her. She sends videos and pictures through the day and he always looks so so happy. She’ll even bring dogs over to our house to play with Luka and it makes his day. We love Noelle!

Oliver stayed with Noelle for about a week while I was in Belize. She did an excellent job and Oliver came back even happier than when he left. He is a high energy breed and i worried about leaving him because of his energy, but noelle sent photos throughout his stay that made me feel at ease. While we were away Noelle kept us updated with notes and pics to let us know how she was doing♥️ We felt comfortable knowing our pup was happy, safe and having the best time. To take our pup’s experience over the top - Noelle throw a birthday party for our pup as it was her 1st birthday during her stay. This is the beginning of a long amazing relationship for all of us, our pup can’t wait to go back to see Noelle and her furry friends!!! Noelle provided exceptional care for Lily, dedicating quality time and even creating fun experiences like playing in a pond and enjoying pool time. Lily seemed to thrive under her devoted attention. Noelle took amazing care of our Australian Cattle Dog Harper. We were a bit nervous to leave our dog with a stranger for over a week, but we couldn't be happier that we did. Noelle socialized Harper with other dogs, took her on walks to the beach, and exercised her several times a day. She was very careful and methodical in her care for Harper, and it was clear after day 1 that she knows how to appropriately care for animals. Noelle also sent us daily updates, photos, and videos so we could watch Harper as she had an absolute blast. We felt that Harper was also on vacation while we were on vacation. We are extremely happy that we chose to place Harper with Noelle rather than in a kennel, and we will always chose Noelle moving forward!
