Joey is the best dog in the world to sit for. He has a great temperament, loves being around people and easy going. He loves to be petted and will sit for hours while you brush his fur. However Joey does have some health issues to be aware of. He is extremely obese. Probably a good 30 pounds overweight. It's important to follow the vets diet plan of 2 meals a day with small portions of kibble and nutrients and eliminate any excess treats. He has joint issues causing him to walk very slowly. Joey is stubborn about not walking and you need a firm hold of his leash to push him along. It's very important to make sure he has two 15-20 minute walks per day even when he doesn't want to walk. We did one lap in the park across from Andy's apartment building for his walks. His excess weight causes labored breathing difficulties that needs to be monitored.
I had a great time looking after Kenji and Mae for Sheryl. It was a relaxing stay as Kenji was easy to look after with short walks around the block and a few longer ones. He loves cuddles and was playful at times. Mae was pretty self-sufficient and let me know when she wanted attention. The house was very comfortable and in a great location - close to parks, walkways, cafes and public transport. It was also delightful to spend time with Sheryl and felt instantly welcomed into her lovely home. I would happily house sit again.
Sophie and Jean are a lovely couple, very welcoming and helpful. Jasper was a pleasure to care for. He's friendly, affectionate, loves his long walks and playing with his toys. The cottage is quite special, artistically created with a lot of thought and care and the location is peaceful and private. I do not hesitate to recommend this sit and feel fortunate that it was my first experience on trusted house sitters, such positive one!
Delilah is delightful! We had lots of lovely lap-time with this sweet, friendly, trusting little girl. The first thing she did when we arrived was flop over for a tummy-rub! Although we didn't meet Rita and Steve face-to-face, they had given us a very helpful video tour of their home ahead of time and their House Notes, including maps and walking routes, were excellent, as was their communication throughout. Their home is beautiful - spacious, clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming (thank you for the flowers) with a lovely open outlook. It is situated in a quiet area of Wells, only a few minutes’ walk from the centre with all its historic sites to explore. A marvellous sit - the piano was a bonus! Thank you.
Wally was just the sweetest dog - we really do miss him so much already! I guess we bonded a lot because he loves humans, but honestly I do miss him. Wally's strengths are his charisma, playing fetch (he's *very* good at this), and commuting - he was a literal angel on trams and train, and in the car and even a couple of boats! Based on this it was very easy to take him on day-trips (with a bag full of his supplies of course! water, food, sleeping blanket, and ball) - he always got very excited to leave, and equally excited to come home! I would really recommend Luzerne, I for some reason put this low on my priorities list but was so glad I went, we did an hour long scenic boat trip on the lake for 20euro per person, and it was incredibly picturesque to see the mountains against the lake - felt like an iconic Swiss experience! Wally was also very good at restaurants, chilled out and was not at all interested in stealing our food. We did find him to be a bit reactive to other dogs (and birds and one occasion, a large fish) but this was the smallest problem in the world as he was easy to distract. When walking around with Wally, we felt like celebrities. Everyone just thought he was the cutest, and we heard many compliments - it was a vey nice experience! Wally's humans were friendly and chatty, and always available on whatsapp to quickly answer any questions. Their home was beautiful and in a very central location. The lift was perfect. From an expectation setting perspective, it's worth noting that they have two large TVs, but neither is in the living room - so we improvised! In summary, we had the best stay and were absolutely charmed by Wally, his family, his home, and Basel - would recommend!
A lovely time at Jack & Linda’s beautiful home! They were wonderful hosts, easy to communicate with and left clear instructions. Their place is in a fab spot very close to shops and public transport and it’s beautiful and modern. The girls are an absolute dream! A little cautious and shy for the first few hours but we were bed and cuddle buddies by the first night. Really sweet natured loving cats who gave me no trouble at all! Highly recommend this beautiful sit! Thanks again guys xxx
